Only half of my seeds popped out of the rockwool. Kept the thing watered, but it looks like one grew upside down and one didn't open. Kept the temp at about 77 or so.

Stunted growth due to using fan and drying out the rockwool. No picture, but imagine them laying completely on their sides and dry rockwool. Also forgot to ph balance some water, but it was probably around 6.5 with 150ppm.

Tried to add 2 more seedlings and I got one, but it's doing very well! PH water at 5.6 Got the second grow bulb hanging and move the seedlings into their permanent home in the hydro system. No more drying out issues but the air temps are a little high and humidity a little low. I will change those by next week. Added 1/2 strength nutrients recommended for transplanting stage. (Also moved them all next to each other so they won't be lonely...and for light concentration).

ok so I see root growth on two, one is severely stunted and doesn't look like it will make it (this is the one that went dry 2 weeks ago, way in back). I added exactly 1/2 recommended nutrients due to their size. Temp is up around 85-86 when lights on, 79 when off on a 18/6 schedule. Humidity at about 52 with lights on, 49 when lights off. forgot to test PPM this time but got PH to 5.5 or so. Moved lamps closer to about 2 inches.

So I upped the nutrients to 3/4 strength. I added a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide to combat the little white mold/fungus on the rockwool cubes. I will add more tomorrow if it doesn't look like its dying off. Also will try to dry them off the following day. The growth is amazing! You might note how warped the plant on the right is, I had air conditioning failure for 2 days and the temp hit 89.9 it's fixed now and they are recovering well. I just redid the water basin but now I see it needs scrubbing so I'll do that next week. I don't expect a whole lot out of this auto as I made too many mistakes so far but I'm not giving up. Really surprised by the little on in the back, can't believe its alive, lol.

Week went well. plants grow at least 2 inches and getting much fuller. I gave up on the mold issue, I think it's just salts or whatever is is that drys white on the rocks. That said the girls are getting smelly. I added 3/4 strength nutrients again, with ph around 5.5. Scrubbed the tank out pretty good. Looks like the hydrogen peroxide I added really cleaned up things good. Roots are still pretty white. I see a lot of leafs showing what looks like high heat issues with the tips bending upwards but I can't get the heat down any cooler. The water seems nice and cool so I am hoping that next week when I change to the bigger flowering light they don't get torched. I trimmed a leaf or 2 off each plant, as I don't really know how to do it, I'm taking it slow. I would call this next week as pre-flowing, but I know it's all going to be different by next week. So happy for my little girls. Funny how much I seem to be checking in on them like 10 times a day. Any comments are welcome.

Hello friends, sad day here. As you can see from the two photos that were taken about 6 hours apart, I have had a catastrophic event. Somehow the top water pump came loose in the back and pumped all the water out of the tub. I saw the plants and when I opened the lid it was bone dry. My poor girls are slowly recovering but they will never be the same. I started trimming off all the dead or dried out leaves. I can't believe this happened. They were given 2/3rds nutrients for flowering. I think I must have trimmed about half of the plant material. I just want to cry. I will update next week.

I realized that adding nutrients to the water last week was a mistake and both plants show nutrient burn, so this week I just replaced 1/3rd of the water with ph balanced water and 1/3 nutes. I lost the little plant in the back, she just could not handle the stress. I am not expecting a lot but I am not giving up. The remaining two plants have grown about 1.5 inches since last week. I removed the dying plant material and I think I will know more next week.

Crazy week here. Right plant that is one week younger shot all the way to top of growbox. I have to employ much bending to keep her off the light. The plant on left is one week older but suffered lost of water twice and is showing it. Much darker and smaller leaves, not to mention that she is very stunted. She is still producing nice flowers which I hope do not turn out to be foxtails. In the past week these two plants have drunk 3 gallons of water?? The first gallon I replaced with just ph balanced water as she was still suffering the nutrient burn. The next two gallons were both set at 2/3rds recommended nute strength. I employed an additional hanging, CFL light for the smaller plant as it is getting crowded out by the plant on the right. I still can't believe they are drinking 1 gallon every 2-3 days, lol. Trimmed a lot of low leaves and larger fan leaves. I have to admit, I put a pillow on the ground and just lay next to them when I trim them. I love my plants.

Ok, so first things first, plant that is foxtailing is twice as big as the other plant and about 10 days younger. They suffered some heat issues so the budding plant is stunted and short and the tall one is foxtailing like crazy. I have been using 2/3 nutrients. ph is 5.8. I have been adding frozen bottles to the bin to cool off the roots and the foxtail is finally starting to make flowers. I was hoping the smaller plant would make larger flowers but it looks like it's almost done. I am going Harvest her at the end of the week. I will swap out nutrients in a couple of days for pure ph water, hope it does not hurt the younger plant too much. Heat has been a huge problem with this small grow. I think I will try topping this next grow to make a smaller plant so it doesn't grow past the light, lol.

4th time trying to add this in. Ok, did a 48 hour ph water flush. Added 2/3 nutrients back in. Decided to keep the smaller plant for 1 more week. Larger plant for 2-3 weeks. Thanks to commenters for keeping me from an early (crappy) harvest. Found out my ph in resevior was at 6.9, brought it down to 5.8 (digital ph pen is a must). Ppm was at 1167, need to flush out resevior tomorrow and add nutes again. Girls seem happy. I think the frozen bottles are helping keep the water temps nice too.

Any idea about how to handle the crowding at top? Should I try to trim back or just leave it alone? Seems like the leaves are burning, but keeping flowers off the light.

Hi @BeefWellingtons! I guess you're not able to increase the light distance? You could try to defoliate, by removing a lot of leaves, then use LST to prevent buds from touching the light. Or you can try to supercrop, by pinching and "breaking" down the main stems. Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing!

Great week this week! Yanked out the stunted smaller plant as she was not growing anymore. Made a little room for the larger one. Doing bending almost daily trying to keep her off the light and out of the fan. Ppm was at around 200 when I pulled the smaller plant. I then added 1/3 nutrients. Ppm at 826. Ph was a little low in the 5.5 so I raised it up 5.8-6.1 or so. Ph seems to fluctuate a lot as the pump moves the water around. Flowers are plumping up. The plant is so big I can barely get into the basin. Daily water flushing was helping the roots a lot last week to keep off the brown. I figure she has 1-2 weeks left as she is an auto and waaayyyyy past her due date. There is 0 room for the new plant to grow so I think she will end up not working out, I might cut back the big girl to make room, not sure yet. Most of the harvested little plant will go to bubble hash basket. I will update later.

Well she is coming to the end. I looked at her tricomes with a 60x handheld microscope and she has about 90% milky and 10% clear, with the occasional amber one. I thought about pulling her today but the smaller flowers look like they need more time. Also, I read someplace that if you think you are ready to harvest, wait a week as there is a 2 week window and waiting one week will put you in it. I have been giving her just tap water ph to 5.8-6.0 with the occasional extra gallon flush as I can not empty my basin right now. The root picture looks a little brown, but that's just the lighting. I reached in and checked the roots, no slime or odd smell. After I maneuver her around (bending her colas away from lamp) my hands smell like a pine air freshener or grass, (not like cannabis)? I have now supercropped 3 of her larger colas which can not be seen from the photos, but they are all the size of my wrist in circumference and about 6 inches long. While some have some toasted leaves, I think the buds will be fine. The extra cfls hanging on the outside have really made a difference in popcorn production! If I get an ounce out of this I am considering it a win, however I'm thinking it might be more, we shall see. Thank you for following my grow. Comments and feedback has been wonderful and extremely helpful.

Well this was a weird week for sure. I thought I was going to be harvesting her today, however after much debate and discussion I will wait one more week. It looks like all my tricomes are milky, but I have no amber ones yet. There is just way too many new pistils popping out of several smaller colas so I am going to wait one more week. I was already flushing her for 1.5 weeks and so I gave her nutrients at 1/2 strength. TDS/ppm shot up to 1101 yesterday. I will now just feed her water til harvest, giving her a 7-day flush. Today tds/ppm was at 659 after watering. Ph was low so I didn't ph the gallon I added in, should balance out. Waiting this last week will be torture. I can't wait to take my new scissors to her.

Ok. So this was a really great experience for me. It's become a hobby. I want to thank all those that participated in my grow. The comments, answers to my questions, and suggestions really made a big difference! I couldn't have done this without you. I started with 3 plants and only one made it. (I know better to just grow one at a time now). Trimming is not fun. It took forever. Actually it was fun for the first two hours, lol. So, you might notice that the buds look trimmed differently. This is on purpose. I wanted to try some of the different techniques I've read about. Trimming really short and tight, leaving more leaves on the buds, and finally just putting up 2 or 3 branches with minimal trimming. I am also drying my popcorn in a paper bag. This was a great accomplishment for me. I have always wanted to grow my own plant, for recreational enjoyment as well as medicinal use. Almost forgot to mention that I found scattered amber tricomes among all my milky ones, so that's why I picked today to harvest. Smoke report: it was incredibly smooth and I really like this strain. No couch lock. Kinda got me introspective and really relaxed.
