Planted germinated seed in Ocean Forest Soil @ 6 AM today. Watered twice today with approx 6 oz of water each time. Increased tent temp as the leaves were turning purple running between 75-85 degrees. Leaves look better today.
some were root bound, had to transplant ASAP. AC quit working, waited 24 hours for tech to arrive so one day of temps over 90. Started feeding schedule. Should have transplanted & started feeding about a week earlier. due to being on vacation had no time. hopefully they will rebound nicely. Feeding them Silica and DR Repair from CYCO.
Working on an automated DRIP system this week, Should have it running soon.
Just growing like weeds lol not sure about water. Felt like May Have slightly underwatered this week but they still look good.
Noticed some mites and turned AC on. Ladybugs came and snacked. They all gone naturally. I learned you just keep temps below 80 and they stay in hibernation.
Had to move lights up this week a couple times. Recommended light distance is 18”. I’m running about 8-10” since I put the component that gets HOT outside. No leaf burning issues noted.
Water system is still annoying me!
Water is still a learning experience. Hand watering. Had some issues with spots. Probably getting water on leaves. Ended up punching all leaves with this in it off. On day 36.
Started the week messing with drip water system. It was a FAIL and overwatered my plants. UGH! Did not water/feed for 125 hours. Pots now finally damp dry. I’m running tent at 80 max with good air flow. Venting very few hours to allow humidity to escape. The one front right is yellowing. And the one behind her slightly yellowing as well but they look much bushier today that a few days ago. On day 40 2 plants showed signs of under water by droopy leaves. See pics. Have them 20oz water with feed and waited 12 hours to see plants response. See pics at Day 41. They perked up so those needed more water. Gave them another 10 oz with feed along with 3 others that are looking like these did 2 days ago. Will check on them in 12 hours to see response. Ok so week 6 has ended on a much BETTER note! Whew! Day 42 everyone LOOKS a lot better!
Some still haven’t been watered/Fed but are looking great. Praying and green. I left those alone.
Week 6 sucked!
Starting week 7.
Day 43 - I watered with 20 Oz of Cyco water & feed in the AM. At PM I gave 6 plants that are yellowing 10 Oz of water with Calmag. Maybe that will clear up the yellowing. It seemed to improve when I fed it the Cyco Bloom but then began yellowing again. Will see if the CalMag helps as someone else suggested.
Day 44 - So today after the CalMag feeding they LOOK a lot better! Also, my feed formula wasn’t correct for week 6. Realized they can take a higher EC than what I was giving. Today I reformulated and watered with 20-30 Oz water/feed mix as described on this week in the AM. They are looking so much better! Whew! My new EC target is 2.1.
Day 44 PM - gave them all 10 Oz water/feed with CalMag
Otherwise they are still flowering. I’d say last week was Preflower for 7 of them and 5 in this grow not flowering as of day 43.
Day 45 gave them all 30 Oz water - 2 were slightly droopy
Day 46 gave them all 20 Oz water - one was slightly droopy gave it 30 oz
Day 47 Dave them all 20 Oz and 40 oz to droopy one
Day 48 1 was slightly droopy. And 2 were a little droopy gave them all 40 oz water
Day 49 Whew! A much better week for sure!!
Hoping week 7 is uneventful. I’m sticking with hand watering this week. So far they are just getting thirstier but I see the drooping and water them. Each day basically adding 10 more oz each feeding to see response so I don’t overwater again.
Day 50-
I will be going out of town day 55 for a required work trip. NOW they open up in person meetings. Lol
I’m NOT hooking up the drip so my only choice would be to water heavily on Saturday AM and see if a friend can hand water for me say Wednesday as I return Friday evening very late. Is that an ok plan you think for week 8 going into week 9?
Was out of town for a week. Had a friend water twice. Hopefully they doing ok. They seem to be ok. Two did look sad so I made sure to water and feed them well. They looked better next morning after return.
Buds are plumping up and I’m seeing color come on.
My humidity is high so ima have to get a dehumidifier.
@hotmamma, okay do not water no matter what your instinct tells you too , the water in the pots will need some air circulation to help remove the water that now will start to suffocate your plants . Are you plastic or fabric pots
Your plants could do with some space if aviable between them to create some airflow it's Important to get air circulation around the base as much as up above
@hotmamma, less water and more time between watering I used to make the mistake thinking underwatering was so bad but in reality they recover alot faster underwater than overwatering which causing a headache of issues
@Igrowneil, they are in 15 gallon fabric pots. almost 3 days with no more water. I put my finger in the soil. I’d say it’s damp not soaked. Some area of the pots are dry on top but some are still damp. They look fuller and have grown up to 4”. I have an oscillating fan blowing with an 8” AC Infinity system. Been running 78-82 to burn off some water. Humidity at 60-71 percent. Opening tent to let humidity escape so no mold or fungus grows. When I open it I’ll drop about 10 -15 percent. I overwatered Sunday - Monday before that I had only hand watered up to 40 Oz a day. So hopefully they can recover. I feel like they are trying hard to make it.
Awesome work for a first grow! great set up.. I applaud you for taking on such a big grow your first time around, but looks like you did it right and that reward of harvest is just around the corner. Its very interesting to see the wild variation between plants that are all BB autos at the same stage of growth week to week. I ran several of ILGM's autos when i first started growing and this was the case across most of them. But thats why I only do photoperiods now (among a whole lot of other reasons). Good luck in the remaining few weeks!
