Germination

First day went as expected. I put the paper towel in a small see-thru plastic container and put it on the table. With a bit of water and the seeds in side, the germination has now started! Day 2 no progression, moved the tray into my furnace room (pitch black and warm) Day 3 major progression. I got them out and started to prep the jiffy pellets. Shortly after I transferred the roughly half inch tarp roots with seeds into the jiffy pellets, root down, seed up, slightly covered with dirt. I soaked them in water (like a beginner i overwatered heavily knowing what I know now). I placed them back in the tray and put them at a window for light. (Note) the plan was to do outdoor so no light or tent was ordered at this point. Day 4-7 not much progression seeing as the clouds and rain showed up...

Nothing to add here, cloudy, crappy weather, no slight growth from pellets. At this point I have overwatered again so the plants are struggling.

They started sprouting seeing as the sun came out for the week. Unfortunately one became to overwatered and was almost dead. The other became “mishandled” by a child and ended up 30ft across the room. This one was In terrible shape but I had a bit of hope for the little guy. By this point I had ordered a grow light, nothing special, a toly grow light from Amazon. With little research I bought it and it was now on the way.

Start of the week my first grow light arrived! I got it setup right away and then decided to transfer them into a bit bigger pots. 2 were still looking terrible and 2 were doing okay. One was tall and straggly so I had to try to prop it up after I transferred it. I placed them in a closet and then periodically checked on them throughout the week. A few days into the week I realized how bad the growlight I had ordered actually was. So it was time to decide.. option 1 was to let the plants just try to survive outside. Option 2 was order a better light and return this one. Option 3 was purchase a tent setup with light. After a bunch of research I decided on spider farmer and ordered a kit from them! (https://www.spider-farmer.com/?ref=Bigbuds420) to receive 3% off. The kit was set to arrive in a week. The decision was made to keep them as indoor. 2 would be outdoor, 2 in the tent.

Beginning of this week I decided to put them in there final homes of 2 gal pots. Unfortunately one completely died and broke. So we were down to 3. Surprisingly the thrown one was still alive. Barely. Still waiting for the tent to setup as it was a full week delivery it won’t be here till next week. Tolys light is working okay just not very well. The plants have grown a bit, I think I have been giving them a bit to much water. As a beginner I expected to make these mistakes.

Easy Grow Plus (SOIL & COCO) - Future Harvest

We got the grow tent setup this week. Pretty impressed with the quality. At this point the 2nd plant had died and it was down to just the 2.I was out and about at Canadian tire and decided to check there plant foods. I found some future harvest easy grow +. I decided to buy it so I had some food before I managed to get out to a local store I was recommended to. I gave them the aggressive feeding of 1tbsp per gallon. I gave about 3L between the 2 plants. The next couple of days were amazing. They had grown more in 2-3 days then they had there entire life! I had the dimmer at 50% and figured that was fine for now. It was about 18 inches away. At this point I started realizing I was having a bit of humidity problems so I ordered a humidifier and that’s another week away. I got the humidity up to 45 after that picture and it has been between 43-45 since.

Picked up a new line of nutrients for the plants. Innovating Plant Products. High Output Grow 3 step feed line. Micro-Grow-Bloom liquid solution. I fed the recommended amount for heavy growth. 3 litres of water each plant received 1.5l. I purchased a humidifier, a heat buddy heater, and also a digital thermostat. I put the humidifier at 70% and then changed it to 65% after 3 days. As for the heater I set that to 24-26. I also purchased a tds meter, ph meter, a liquid ph test kit and also a 3 way meter for soil. I checked the soil and it’s roughly 7.8. I then checked my ph of my water with just the liquid solution and I got about 7.5-8. Next watering will be next week as these plants seem to drink it slowly right now. We potentially will have some ph problems with the plants if I don’t get on top of it. So I will be getting some ph up and ph down ASAP it has just been a very busy week and haven’t been able to do it. By the end of the week there was some decent growth. I did a lot of research on these seeds and there’s a potential that they are not autoflowers. So I decided I would top them and just hope for the best. There’s no signs of flowering yet so I figured I may as well. Again First ever grow, I took the info to just do the top as I’m 90% certain they are photoperiod at this point. I took the picture of the nutrients today and I am a week behind. I will be updating next week the same day I am updating this week. Super busy at work but I am trying to document the progress as best as possible.

Start of the week it seems like it’s doing okay, continuing to grow away and get bigger, mid week and it’s still doing its thing, potentially getting a bit of light burn or ph problem again seeing as I still haven’t gotten the ph up or ph down. I did order a liquid solution tester and my tap water is around 7.5 so they have been getting that with the food I just got, but they were only fed one time so far and that was last week. Soil is looking moist at the bottom, my 3-way meter says it is decently moist still so I don’t see a need to water as I was told roots try to make there way to water so let it dry a bit more then I would think. End of the week I got my ph up and ph down. I also got some “wollammo!” Pure wollastonite. I decided at this point I may as well transplant the 2 error 404 plants into 5 gallon fabrics I received with the tent. I got my soil into the fabric pot, took the plant from its 2gallon pot and dusted root stim on the roots. I did this with both plants and then filled the sides in. I didn’t compact it to much as I figure the water will do that itself. I top dressed with 50 grams of wollammo! on each plant. I then got 3 litres of water, checked the ph with liquid solution from general hydroponics. I was sitting around 7.5-8 I’m guessing. So I added ph down, yes I did this without adding my nutrients like a meat head. I then added my nutrients I decided since I am going to switch them into flower probably the start of the week I would give it the recommended amount for transition to flower. I ph tested and obvcourse had a ph of 4.5 or so. I added some ph up, then some more ph down, then some more ph up then more ph up then ph down.. finally I got it to roughly 6 (solution was yellowish light green). It’s my first time, I started with 1ml amounts and went from there. Roughly added 4 ml of ph up and 3ml of ph down. It seems the ph down is potentially stronger I’m not to sure. Next time should be a bit easier now that I figured out roughly how strong the ph up and ph down is. I gave the plants 1.5l or so each of the nutrient water mixture. I fed more around the main stalks and as I will be watering more often now I will slowly drag the water out towards the edges to hopefully encourage the roots to grow more and fill the pot. I should have mixed up more then 3L so I could have tested the run off. On the next watering with no nutrients I will be getting some run off to test. I then decided to finish it off with some low stress training. Again this is my first time growing so first time training. I took the main stalk and bent that over first, gently so I would not damage it. I pulled as many of the new growth out towards the sides trying to keep everything as even as possible. I then tucked the bigger fan leafs behind the newer growth so they would get more light. I made sure no leafs were sitting in the soil as I read to keep them out of the soil. All in all the training seems to have gone okay. It was a bit hard with the fabric pot because of how much it moves but it wasn’t to hard. Depending on how they look tomorrow I will swap them into flower myself as I still don’t see any “pistols?”. I am also going to be ordering some clip fans to make sure I have enough airflow.

May 31st Everything is looking good after the LST from last week, I said I was going to swap them into flower and I realized that I should wait another week or so as they will be going into a new home so to speak. Updates coming next week for that. Doesn't look like to many PH issues anymore or whatever was happening but the plants seem a bit happier now June 1st I Figured today would be a good day to do a bit of defoliation on these girls in order to get some more light down to the newer growth. I didn't take a ton off as you can see, but for the size of the plant I suppose it was a decent amount. I read somewhere that a general rule of thumb is only defoliate roughly 30% of the plant at most. I'm not to sure if it is true but I tried to stay within that general rule. June 2nd, I decided since I would have them in veg for at least a little while long I would top them again. After topping I gave them some water and nutrients. I know I said I would do straight water for the next one but I went for it anyways as it seems the flowering mixture may be giving it some deficiency's. So I gave them the recommended feeding for heavy veg growth. I gave about 3L to the bigger plant and around 2L to the smaller plant (as it was still a bit moist but it wasn't damp). My crappy soil tester was saying my soil was at around 8PH so I figured I would aim to feed around 6ph. With the small amount of runoff from the smaller plant I did A PH test and the PH seemed to be around the 4.5-5ph area. My liquid ph meter arrived broken so I am waiting for the new one, therefore I am using the general hydroponics liquid test kit. I presume my soil ph is lower then the water I have given seeing as it went from 6ph water to around 4.5. Next feeding I will aim to feed at 7PH. With the defoliation I just made sure that the tie downs were decently tight still and moved what I thought needed to be moved. June 3rd,4th Not a ton to update on. I didn't get any pictures for these 2 days. June 5th Some obvious problems going on with the bigger plant. I am guessing it is the PH issue but I am still unsure. The one browned leaf I accidentally squished in the tie down while I was low stress training it so it got a bit damaged. Other then that the plants are growing decent. Im not sure why I didn't have more pictures for today but I mainly took problems of the problem areas. June 6th Not much going on still. They are still just hanging out not doing to much. It was a busy work week so pictures in general were a bit lazy. I will try to get more for the upcoming weeks. Big news for next week!

June 7 - We ordered some new lights last week, they are 240w kingbrite samsung lm310h with uv/ir, 3000k, and meanwell drivers. We setup the new room and moved the girls into there. After a bit of LST and a watering (with nutrients) at roughly 7ph, they were ready to go under the 2 new lights and the same SF-1000 we have been using in this grow. The new room is a 12 ft enclosed trailer. I moved everything from the small tent into this. I put clear poly on the walls, floor and ceiling. I put poly on the shelf I am going to be keeping in there as well. I bought 50ft of 6mm mylar and lined the floors, roof and sides with it. I plan to get some reflective tape to seal everything and to cover the wood. I did not get much of a chance to watch temp's today as they it was later in the evening after all was said and done. The inline fan blowing in air from outside. June 8 - 9 AM i checked the plants, they were at 25.2 and 50% RH. Late through the day I had checked and we had gotten up to around 32 degrees. So I moved the inline fan to the closer vent, hooked up to that, and had the air blowing out of the trailer with the inline fan sucking it from above the lights. I then added oscillating fan and had it blowing air on the left side of the room so it would somewhat circulate once I closed the doors. I then checked at about 9pm and we were at 22 degrees. Definitely noticed a decent amount of growth already. I have the lights on a 22/2 cycle as I was worried about the heat at night time. June 9 - Some great growth from the girls, still having problems controlling the temps in the afternoon. I decided to prop the door open a bit to have a constant breeze throughout the day while I am at work. Decided to do some more LST and also a bit of defoliation. I took about 25% of the leaf's that were blocking the new growth as it was getting a bit bunched up. I was then told the leaf's are almost solar panels for them. So from now on I will be trying to just do some tucking unless needed. The leaf's I removed were most of the damaged leaf's, I am not to sure if that makes much of a difference. I gave them a watering with only water as there is a potential I am getting a bit of a nutrient buildup along with the PH problem. Or potentially the reason for the ph problem is nutrient buildup. After watering with A PH of 7 I got some run off and tested it. The smaller plant gave me a PH of about 5.5 where the bigger one is around 5.0. June 10 - Plants are looking happy and showing tons of growth. Seems to be trying to stretch outwards. Not a ton of sign of PH issues showing so potentially getting it under control. Still a bit of damage to previous leaf's but it is what it is! The last few days I have been leaving the door open a bit in order to keep the temps down. I decided to test something and turn the lights off (automatically) at 11AM and back on at 5PM so light schedule has now changed to 18/6 and it seems I may have figured out the issue. We haven't had lots of sun the last couple days so it hasn't been to hard and I have yet to know if it truly fixed the heat issue for now. (I will be looking into a ac unit as well since it typically gets to around 30-35 around here. June 11 - Pulled some of the branches back down and added a few more LST spots. Seems we have a good amount of growth from the smaller plant out of the 2 topped spots. Unfortunately it looks like I fucked up on the bigger plant and only one of the nodes seems to have new growth. I will continue to monitor that but I think I cut the node to low and also to soon. Other then that, the girls are doing great. They seem to be absolutely loving these new lights. I gave them some nutrient water today as well. roughly 3L each. They seem to be A hell of A lot more thirsty under these new lights. June 12 - The girls are doing great , they are still just doing growing away. Lots of progress everyday. I am going to be getting a go-pro so I can set-up a time-lapse for the rest of this grow. I received my new inline fan, I got A ac infinity CLOUDLINE T4 with the temperature humidity controller. I am going to be having one fan pushing fresh air in and one fan pulling out the hot air. I will be doing that tomorrow since I have to work today. June 13 - I ordered another 50ft of mylar and that showed up today. I have decided to remove the shelf and add another 3+ feet to the grow space. So today I installed more poly, mylar, the ac infinity fan. I have it set-up to pump in air if it gets to warm. I am thinking of switching it to the output that way if it gets to hot or to humid I can have that air pulled out of the trailer. Right now my other inline fan is the outtake and I just have it set on full. Overall I think everything is set-up a bit better and more accessible. I will be putting my 2x2 tent in there at the left of the doors so I can have a veg room when these 2 are in flower. I plan to have 4 in veg and 4 in flower for the next grow. Still waiting on JOTI seeds, ordered 3 weeks ago and still have not been shipped. I will be getting those going the moment they arrive. The girls seem to be happy still, did a bit more LST to try to keep everything even, mainly I'm just pulling down on the spots I already have tie wire on.

June 14th not a ton happened, I believe I watered them (It seems I am having to water every second day now as they start to get bigger) June 15th - still just growing away. I went out and got some different ducting so I could pull air from outside better with the ac infinity inline fan. I also received some insulated ducting from Amazon that is a hell of a lot better then the standard stuff I am using. I also grabbed a new 9 inch fan (still deciding the best place to place it, for now it is beside the door). I grabbed a larger oscillating fan aswell to keep air moving around. June 16th - decided I would do some lst and then I gave them some water. I have been feeding nutrients every second day. I have also on every 3rd watering been doing just ph’d water. The humidity seems to drop quite a bit within 10-20 seconds of the door being open hence the lower reading. I am sitting roughly at 45-55 depending on time of day. As for temperatures I’m still struggling to keep it down during the warm days and it seems the highest I am getting is around 29 since switching the lights off from 11am - 5pm June 17th - the girls seemed to have perked back up after yesterday’s lst. Not much new today just some growth! June 18th - Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures today. But not to much difference. I did feed the girls with some nutrient water today. June 19th - I again forgot to take pictures. They are just growing away and doing there thing. I did check for growth from the topped portion on the bigger plant, no growth from one of the 2 tops. So I indeed cut it to low… I won’t be doing that again haha. June 20th - finally grabbed something to deal with the heat since it is getting hotter everyday. I picked up a 10,000 btu air conditioner. I have it set at 23 degrees. I also moved the plants around and re-arranged some stuff. I took the inline fan that was taking air out and instead the ac output is going to there. I ended up having to make the vent into a 6inch vent on the trailer. Temps stay around 23 now. Humidity is still 45-55 depending on time of day.

June 21st - they are doing great with the newa ac unit. temps are saying around 25-26. They are just growing away. I decided this week I would swap there nutrients for transition to flower. I watered them today with the first mix of the recommended transition to flower. June 22nd - Still growing away, they seem to be picking up growth quite a bit now! June 23rd - Starting to explode with growth! Everything looks healthy. I have turned the lights up to about 85% now. Gave them a feeding today, again with the transition to flower recommendation. June 24th - Still growing like crazy. They are on a 12/12 schedule and it looks like they're on there way to flower! Junes 25th - Lots of growth in the last 5 days. They have perked up a ton, grown a ton of fan leafs and its almost time to do some more lst or defoliation. Gave them another feeding today. I have decided to just feed with every watering as it is the manufactures recommendation. June 26th - Took the girls out and did some LST on them again as they were starting to become pretty uneven. Unfortunately I only took pictures/videos of the one plant. You can definitely see the growth since the start of this week. They seem to be getting pretty dry by the morning so I have been feeding roughly every 24-36 hours making sure not to overwater. June 27th -They popped back up overnight and are just growing away. Another watering today. Roughly 3L per plant. Again making sure not to overwater.

June 28 - They are doing great, We switched to the recommended amount of nutrients for flowering, Also 2 air stones I ordered have come in so now those are on 24/7 with the nutrient water in a 5 gallon bucket. June 29 - Still just growing away, I am still feeding roughly 3L per plant of nutrient water every 24-36hr depending on how dry they feel. June 30 - Totally forgot to take pictures/videos today. I gave them there daily watering and they are still just growing away. They are in flower now I believe! July 1 - Awesome to see this amount of progression. Tons of hairs and a decently even canopy. There is a small smell coming from in the room! July 2 - Again I forgot to take pictures, But as always they are still just growing away. so far so good! July 3 - Tons of growth and they are starting to become uneven. I don't have a ton of time so I think I will leave them for another week before doing some LST or HST. Tons of colas forming, lots of hairs and they are starting to have a heavier smell! So far so good! July 4 - Same thing as yesterday, still growing away, Ive turned the lights up to 100% now and I have removed the SF-1000 as I needed it for another project! (be sure to check out my other diary's which I will be uploading today!

July 5 - The girls are still doing awesome. temps are between 21-26. Humidity is 40-50. Still feeding every 24-36 hours with 3L per plant. July 6 - They are doing good. Showing lots of flower sites now. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures today. July 7 - Tons of progress since last week. I don't see any signs of any problems, and still no pests! The smell is getting A lot stronger as it starts to flower more July 8 - Still doing there thing, no problems, temps and humidity is fine. Have been feeding every 24 hours now as they seem to be really thirsty July 9 - Super happy with how they are doing. No issues yet. Smell is heavier, and tons of bud sites showing up. Only issue is they are growing pretty uneven. July 10 - Time to get a even canopy! First time doing some HST. I also did some defoliation. One of the stems split open a bit but it seems to be doing just fine. I did he HST and defoliation in the morning, i then took pictures of 12 hours later and everything seems just fine! July 11 - Everything seems to be a lot more even and the broken stem doesn't seem to affect the growth.

@fraankiiee, I’m able to keep it at roughly 31 with everything on and Ac running. Our heat wave was brutal. West coast of British Columbia Canada.

Suerte broo!!💪

@fraankiiee, thank you they’re doing well. Due to a massive heat wave for this entire week, I am very happy I have everything. I mainly plan on having a lot more plants in here so hence the initial investment into everything I may possibly need.

Looking good buddy, I love the name of this strain. Watch your PH it is key, looks like you are getting it under control. Personally I would take it easy on the defoliation, every leaf is like a battery and power source. The less leaves the less energy it can process. I have noticed a lot of this going on here with many growers and noticed a major dent in the over all yeild.

@Thundrfuk,huge fan of the name aswell. Yeah I heard PH is a big thing so I’m waiting for the new tester to show up. I totally did not know that. I will try to do more tucking in the future instead of full on defoliation. I’ve been taking notes and checking other grows out to try to figure everything out. Thanks for the advice! Very much appreciated.

Great job, good luck with the grow buddy! Everything is looking good, I'm growing another strain from this breeder and they are awesome.👊

@Thundrfuk, They seem to be pretty resilient. The one thing I've noticed is that they are not auto flower like the package said. Unless its a super late autoflower.
