Germination

Germinated the seeds with the paper towel in Tupperware method. The useful seeds didn’t pop as quickly, and were actually transplanted to the soil with only one showing a tiny tap root. So one actually germed in soil I suppose.

I started them all in solo cups of ocean forest, with a little perlite added. Again, not the best documentation during this period. Had them under 24 hour light, and had to take a shell off the bubba hash manually. 1st grow, so still balancing out how to keep humidity around 60-70 and temp to 25c in the tent which is right next to the ac in my room. Again sorry for crappy pics.

For this week, I kept them on 24 hours of light. Still haven’t fully light proofed my grow tent in terms of minor stuff, so I decided to veg at 24/0 for a few weeks as I get everything together. Everything was growing steadily, though I have nothing to actually gauge it against so I could be talking out my ass lol. In truth I think I did everything too early. Ended up getting antsy, saw a bunch of roots coming out the bottom of my solos and transplanted up around day 12 or 13. The transplant was smooth for some plants, and rough for others. Lessons learned for the future. The two ZxKC were potted up to 3 gallons, as well as the Moonshine Ghost Train Haze. The useful chocolate chems and the bubba hash were potted up to 2 gallons. Also mixed a teaspoon of remo veg nutes into a gallon, and used it to mist the plants lightly. Think I was overwatering for a bit, and could be starting the light dosage of nutes too early. Time will tell. Also believe I’m seeing the start of either nute burn or a calcium deficiency? There’s tiny orange pieces forming on a few of the bottom leaves of two plants. I say nute burn because I’m not sure if I started them too early, and calcium deficiency because I don’t know if my ph was right for the start of the week. Got a new ph meter, and mixed a new solution with just ph’d water and a teaspoon of magnifical. As always any and all insight is wholly appreciated. If you’re tagging along for some reason, give thanks!! 🙏🏿

This was a busy week. Ran into a bunch of different issues, but I’m hoping I can right the ship with everything. Plants were growing steadily, but also saw the continuation of whatever that rust like substance was on some leaves. Didn’t affect all the plants but did affect around half. Initially thought it was light burn, so I raised the lights a little bit. That didn’t help, so I figured it may be a ph or nutrient issue, but my ph has been steady around 6.5. Then I saw what looked to be fungus gnats, and it seemed to come together. Think the rust/leaf discoloration I’ve been seeing was a result of that. Got some Neem spray and gave them the once over. Also gonna put off watering for a few days to let the top soil dry fully. Actually topped the taller ZKC and the MGTH and cleaned the bottom nodes off a few minutes ago. Supercropped the stem of the 2 gallons as well. We’ll see how they bounce back.

Does anyone happen to know what is causing this rust colored discoloration on fan leaves? It starts on bottom leaves, and moves up. Also seeing yellowing on leaves, and not sure if its pest issue, light issue, deficiency, or watering concern. Super nervous plants are dying🙁

Proper Calcium deficiency due to an excessive amount of ammonium, potassium, magnesium and/or sodium in the root environment. The absorption is curbed mostly by ammonium and least by sodium. It can also be a problem with the evaporation caused by an excessively high EC value of the soil, check the EC of the drain to make sure.

Another busy last few days. Was having a deficiency for the past few weeks that was getting to the plants and stunting their growth, so they may be a bit behind where they should be after 4 weeks of veg. You can see it on lower leaves, but new growth has looked good since I’ve balanced it out some. Shout out to the great community here that gave me some insight into how to fix things, especially those who responded to my grow question. 3 plants are topped, three are natural, and most have minor lst(just bending and tucking to try to get light to the branches. Gonna veg a week or two more and then flip—want the smaller ones to get more size, but also don’t want the big ones (the ZxKC and Moonshine GTH in the back) to out grow the tent. Also surprised by the size of the bubba hash—it looks indica and really columnar, but is also taller than I anticipated. As always any and all constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated!
