Outta the fridge and into the Coco. No steps in between. No soaking. Didn't even pre-wet the medium. Just planted it half an inch under and wet every six hours with a few spritzes of 6.0 ph water. (Didn't want to pour or drop water. It could move the seed or sink it.) Looks like it worked. 54 hours between planting and groundbreak. Seems fast from my very limited experience. Less stress and handling than the paper towel method. And I don't know... Something about just planting a seed and watering it that just seems.... right. I'm sticking to this method.

Day 1: Started 18/6 last night. Nutes in the morning (cuz it's coco). I'm following Coco for Cannabis as a guide for this grow. Helpful site. The site recommends starting nutes 24 hours after the cotyledons are well formed. In the morning it'll be 29 hours since that happened, which is a number I'm comfortable with. Shooting for an EC of 350-425 to start. Going up from there. 6.2 PH would be good for CalMag pickup from what I hear, so that's the target PH. She doesn't seem stretchy atm. Which is good.. For now. I saturated the pot with 6.1 water in order to make feeding a little bit lighter on the baby tomorrow. Since the coco will be more saturated tomorrow, the resulting EC of the coco after the 1st fertigation will be relatively low as compared to suddenly saturating dry coco with feed. That could shock the Green Crack baby. Nobody wants that. Right? Right.👍 It's just nice to have something growing in the tent again, btw. You guys are great. Thanks. Day 3: New leaves are light green. Wondering if this means that the plant is asking for higher EC? Will ask question. Last feed at 440 EC/6.3 PH. Before that: 397 EC / 6.2 PH. Day 4: I want to shout out the people that helped me with my grow question yesterday. @inspireme @biobuds @hashy @highroller909 Thank you so much for your great advice which I followed. She's now at 550 EC per last feeding with next at 625 or so. PH around 5.8. She's still growing, and comparing yesterday's picture to today's, it looks like actual green color is making its way into the plant, indicating the presence of nitrogen (among other things). Though its still early. If no improvement tomorrow, will redo my nutrient mix maybe. Maybe I got the ratios wrong? We'll see. But she looks better to me right now - maybe it's wishful thinking. Day 7: What a week! From germination in the pot, to a strongly growing lime-colored beast, that many here helped me with. (I will shout them out in a comment so they see it this time!) I learned so much this week. Looking forward to watching her pop this next week. Hopefully we start LST in week 3 which I'm also really excited about. I got an LST strategy I cant wait to employ. Thanks y'all!!

Hi. I'm growing in Coco/Perlite. Could you tell me if the color of the leaves are telling me that I need to up the EC on the fertigation? GrowWeedEasy.com says that light green means hunger. Is that right? Thanks. (1st fert: 400ec/6.2ph, 2nd fert: 440ec/6.3ph. 2xDaily.)

Hi mate, ahhh that's probably going to be high the 😂.. as for spring waters they can have a pretty high EC as well. If you can I'd recommend getting RO, distilled or de-ionized water it will give you a lot more control and peace of mind when it comes to what your plant is getting. They are all 0ppm/EC. Make sure to get a little cal mag though. Supermarkets sell de-ionized water in the car section. I used that before I got my zero water filter (also 0ppm/EC) I highly recommend both 🙂... sorry I've gone on a rant about water 😂 Your in coco (I didnt notice at first!) so you should see results within days. Also as the other growers mentioned I'd lower your ph a little 5.8-5.9 would be optimal. She will take 600 ec easily. You can go up to 800 but personally I'd stick to 600 to be on the safe side. Gradually increasing with each feed. When you see a burn go a tad lower. Shes looking great bro, wouldn't even know it's a first grow 💪

She's in Coco. Light distance is at max for the lamp (18"). 78F /70% humidity. Her last feed this morning was at 740 EC /5.8 ph. We're going to 1200 EC in few days to start wk2 feed. Leaf color weird. Upward curl too? Something to do here other than be patient? This normal?

Most of that applies to soil which is totally different than coco. My first week feeding is always 1.0 ec and second week is 1.3-1.4 ec,plants are happy about it because they are in coco and looking for feeding to gain energy. autos or photos doesnt matter.Your seedling doesnt have signs of overfeeding, dont judge by ec yet. Ec is not something to follow strictly,ph is much more important. This seedling is looking good for only 4 days, keep doing what you are doing mate.it is still establishing roots, dont expect anuthing magical for first week.week 2 will be where it'll explode. in case of burn, you can safely back off nutes a bit and recovery is within a couple of days at most.coco is faster than soil,no need to be scared.sudden problems, quick recovery.i see you feeding schedule, you cant overfeed with those dosages.just wait for your seedling to settle roots in coco which takes about 10 days.patience

Day 8: She's growing quite nicely now. If anything she seems slightly wind burned. I turned down the two lower fans to the their lowest setting from medium. She's been dancing in the wind a bit, didn't think it was that bad, but let's be gentle with the princess Hovering around 1000 EC going into the coco now. Will do first run off EC test tonight. To get a benchmark at least. Happy to see that she is really enjoying the nutes while staying pretty short. Started working on the third node set already, she ain't even 2 inches tall. BTW, she's actually an appropriate shade of green now. She's GREEN CRACK! Day 11: She seems happy. If she has a problem, I have no idea what it might be. A little canoeing? But I'm not concerned cuz it's on new growth. Guess we'll see how this goes. Last feeding 5.5 PH (most of the time around 5.8) and 1125 EC. She's gobbling it up. Still light colored. Hungry girl. Get her a job at White Castle. 😂 Learned about Vapor Pressure Deficit today. Turns out my humidity was too low for the temp. Glad I saw that early in the process. Thanks to Everest Fernandez and his YouTube video! Did my 1st LST. Scary but fun. LST clips make that 1st one easy. Day 14; Another fun-filled week. By my decree, this week will always be known as LST WEEK. Toughest part of LST is how the girl looks afterwards. All abused. They say it all pays off in the long run, so we'll see. But I don't know whether to feel blessed or cursed about these really short internodes I've been getting. It looks like it's going to take 10 nodes to get the main stem to the edge of the pot. I mean I know this strain was supposed to be short, but... I almost took too long in removing the LST clip from the stem. It was a little difficult to remove but I managed. I think a cotyledon took damage in the process, but I'm not worried about it. Just glad that I guess she mostly looks pretty healthy. On to Week 3!!

Day 15: Third week. Phew. We got here. I had bad luck/skill with my first three seeds. It's a relief to be at this stage with the plant healthy and growing. Some here helped me and I am still very grateful. For being such a good girl, Daddy went out and bought her something special - Silica (ArmorSi), which I started giving her today. Why? Because his grow is like flying a plane through the Arc de Triomphe - doable but a little risky. If all Silica does for you is mitigate the risk of a failed (first) grow, then put that stuff in my veins. It's cheap too? Fantastic! Put it in my mouth too. A one plant grow in a loft in a 2 x 2 x3 needs risk mitigation. And the LST continues too. Day 16: I ultimately couldn't fathom letting two large fan leaves cover up 3 or more bud sites. I cut the two fan leaves that were covering the lower potential bud sites at the center of the plant. My 1st Defoliation. Just like that. And I think that's enough tinkering with her. LST is a bit dangerous when a plant has nodes this tight together, You damage tiny leaves that are very close together. No room to operate. And the only reason I defoliated at all was that the cost/benefit ratio was so low that it was totally worth the risk of a slowdown due to stress as long as it didn't end her. I'm blessed she's so short. Now she's flattened by LST and defoliated for lower bud site growth. All I wanted. All set to grow the way she is supposed to, I think. Just fertigate now Until it maybe comes time to scrog? Day 17: There was very little growth on the plant this morning. I expected that. Not crazy about the term many use to describe this situation. That the plant is "stressed" as if it had a brain and felt pain and suffering. And maybe it does. Who knows. The point is that I don't think that's what is happening here. Simply put, a good portion of the plant's sugar production and storage capacity was removed yesterday (in particular, the main stem's facilities were obliterated - on purpose - still kinder than topping.) If you had a car with three battery-engines that had a 900 mph top speed, say, and you removed one battery-engine, you shouldn't be surprised to see that the car now only has a top speed of only 600 mph the next morning. Right? I think most of what is happening here comes down to that. And I'm sure the plant is also investing some resources into reconfiguring itself post-surgery. So for the next few days, I don't expect much growth. Mentioned yesterday the main stem took a partial splitting during LST. The stem was seen about 50% healed this morning. Good news, but that might also slow things down. Concerned about the 4th node, Almost no growth at all from the 4th node leaves since the defoliation. But the fifth node IS developing, just slowly. A slower growing main stem might be an assist we need ultimately, as long as it's not a sign of impending doom. Everyone said wait 48 hours after the defoliation so I guess that's what I'll have to do. As for feeding, I gave her a regularly scheduled fertigation at 1225 EC/5.9 PH this morning. But I'm thinking of only giving her water tonight to lower the "soil" EC a bit, She's a smaller plant now. Lowering EC to 900 would be good, my gut tells me (hard), But if you try to go from 1200 EC in one feed to 900 the next, you're gonna waste a lot of feed just trying to go back up to 1200 in a couple days. I don't want to mix a second gallon of feed just to throw out most of it next week when she gets a new ratio in a new gallon. So since I gave her 300ml at 1225 ECs this morning (100 ml runoff), I'll give her like 100 ml of plain water (EC=130) tonight, (Haven't done the math yet.) Get the average daily EC to about 900 for the day. That feels like the right number to me for a plant this size. Sue me. I'm a newb. Just eyeballing it. And there was SOME growth and most of it was on the second node. It's all going according to plan, little kitty! MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! 👹👿😈😂 (I'm prolly faceplanting and too much of a newb to see it? Prolly.) Have a great day!

Hey man, I'm with you on the direct in media method, especially for autoflowers. I used it for all my plants this year and have yet to have a seed fail to germinate. Looking forward to seeing how this little lady develops. Good luck.😎
