You can tell week from week how explosive and rapid the growth has been...there is def something to this CROP STEERING technique ....I feed probably 7 times a day...but tiny shots each time and get good dry backs during night time. Gonna really have to defoliate pretty soon, and get second trellis up. I also do ALOT of stem pinching to slow vertical growth with out having to actually top them so I do not loose that growth point. All in all happy with this so far. I noticed they do not have a "CROP STEERING" Technique in the grow techniques section.
Looking good and progressing very nicely !! Good luck with the grow !
Please feel free to check out/show love on some of my recent grows (Tropicana cookiez/Venom OG/Banana Mango )
Also… I have a lots of growing tips on my profile page (comments section
@Bud_Spencer, Yeah thankfully they were clones and it is supposed to be good. My next run is Banana Cream Cake x Jealousy (Seed Junky Genetics) Which 1 clone is 300.00.
@Esoteric_growing, Yeah I do have a basically sealed room , but will run an exhaust fan that will kick on when humidity or other environmental factors become undesirable only on the NIGHT cycle along with a Carbon filter that pulls air into my attic...again only at night. Yeah EC in the media will climb as you dry back. Another note I used to add calmag to 100-150 ppm (500 scale) this time I did 300 ppm which is like 5 ml/gal. No burn and while I am terrified of burning a crop I am reluctant to go above 1500-1600 ppms total.
@Ketamine, new setup will be a improvement for sure. I really fancy a closed loop type totally air sealed type of room with no inlet or exhaust and simply a air con and co2 supplement with a humidifier/dehumidifier.
That type of feeding is also something I am very very interested in trying but at the moment I don’t have the equipment to measure inside the rockwool medium. Adjusting the dry cycle to increase and decrease the EC inside the block seems to work wonders for some people. Also they tend to see high EC’s I struggle to comprehend like 2.9 and even above 3 without burning or associated issues.
I watched a Q&A session with the jungle boys which spoke about this at length which I guess you have seen.
I am very interested in your progress going forward with this type of feeding and will be following along for the ride👍
@Esoteric_growing, Yeah probably about 10#+.I cannot wait till next run.....always growing different strains. PLus getting some new equipment .. a Hydro-X ( HCS-1 ) and new LUXX 645 PRO LED lights. Trying to build a real nice grow room with total control over environment. I have good control now but it can be better. This "Crop Steering" is super interesting and really pushes plants to the limit....but it needs more equipment to manage/control things to get the plants really dialed in. Most of it has to do with the water content and tricking plants to think the water may not always be there , and that puts them into a state of maximum overdrive..its a water stress concept that has been a big secret for some time with professional growers. But there is ALOT that goes into this technique and I think its worth it when you can literally double your yield.
Looking good pal👍
Are you getting any problems with the light so close to the plants? I am quite new to LED growing but thought about 12-18 inches was the sweet spot.
Also why will you get more penetration of the canopy with the lux led pro? The fact that the light is a more compact unit?
@Ketamine, I have two leds, one Mars fc4800 in a 3x3 and a exolux 630w led in a 4x4 and very impressed so far.
600+umol at 3ft is pretty much flower territory so that’s dam impressive👍
I need to invest in a decent par meter like the apogee which is a great tool for the grow room/tent.
Thanks for the advice on distance as
My canopy is growing at a insane rate and I may have underestimated the stretch a little😂
@Esoteric_growing,I just see the grow rooms with LUX and they have really good canopy, Also seen some PAR testing with LUX like 3ft above the canopy with 600+ umol readings. I did have a couple buds grow into the light and did get damaged , but I do have alot of flowers very close 4-5" from the light with no problems. You should be able to get very close to the light , just not touching. Oh and the lights I have now weigh 50 pounds each...waay heavy and are a bitch to adjust up and down.
@Esoteric_growing, Its just a flood and drain table...I do not flood and drain though. I feed plants about 6-8 times a day and get almost no runoff . Athena does the job , using the blended line. They are clean non smelly and work.
@Ketamine, well they definitely look like they are doing a good job at lighting the canopy lol.
Is that a NFT table you are growing on? Looks very similar to what I see some of the top growers in the US doing especially with the Athena nutrients too. I am debating swapping over to the pro or blended line at some point and would love to know your opinions of it👍
@Esoteric_growing, They are from Alibaba I got 4 of them for 2,700 bucks shipped to my door. I have had them 2 years and I think they kill it. There are 4 over two 4x8 tables and are 800 watts dimmable. I may replace one with a LUX LED this next run.
My favourite grow I am following at the moment👍 I really want to try some seed junky genetics after watching this.
Do they sell seeds in regular? As I am done with feminised strains
@Ketamine, London where we seem to get the left over seeds you guys don’t want or we can’t get any at all from the ingesting seed banks stateside. Looking at some Z3 from dying breed seeds which I can get, I just want to grow something I am excited about as I have been growing for years
@Esoteric_growing,I believe they do...we had to stand in line sometimes days to get them here. All the ones I have are femininized. Where are you from anyway?
@Ketamine, Right on. I’m going to do a tray of these AFxZK next run. I was hoping to learn from your mistakes lol. Planning on topping them around day 10 then 20 more days of veg then flip to flower.
I believe Luxx is releasing some new veg and flower lights with new technology in September, might be worth the wait.
@HeadyToaster, Once . I do a lot of stem pinching though to slow vertical growth and promote branching. I did waay too many plants this time. Next time ( Banana Cream Cake x Jealousy ) I will grow less plants. Getting new lights also ..gonna get LUX 645 LED PRO's ..better penetration so I hope fully can get 3ft of canopy instead of 1.5 ft .
@MonroeGrow,Actually I been defoliating a bunch this week....taking lots of tiny sucker branches and some/lots of leaves but not too many leaves as they provide all the energy for growth..its a balance IMO.
