I actually soaked for 12-24 hours as long as none sink, then moved them to paper towels between paper plates and placed on my cable box to keep warm, you must keep them wetter than normal this way or the cable box can dry them out. After popping I put them in soil same day, they popped from the soil in 2-4 days for me.
