Germination took a few days longer than expected (9/10 days). Seeds were in storage for about 2 years and took a bit of time to wake up. I had 8 seeds in paper towel and only 5 germinated. Because they are bag seeds and I have no idea what their genetics are, I've just labeled them 1 - 5.
They have been growing steadily and are lush and green. Overwatered the first week or two which slowed their growth. Resisted the urge and kept the watering can away and they skyrocketed to where they are now, only giving small amounts of water when the leaves started drooping. Also been giving them a foliar feed of FPJ (aloe, nasturtium and grass FPJ) on every second watering.
Girls doing well. Some slight nutrient issues that needs tending to but other than that they seem to be happy.
#1. Some slight edge burn on the leaves. Suspect overzealous use of foliar feed. Will reduce dosage and use plain water instead.
#2. Few yellow tips but not too concerned about her yet. She's nice and lush. Will keep an eye on it though.
#3. Polyploid has so many branches it's insane!! Had to chop a few of the slow growers to make room for the rest. 🤞 she's a girl...
#4. Same issues as #2. Slight yellowing but not concerned yet..looking lush and happy.
#5. Overall plant has a more yellow tinge than the rest and slight curling down of the leaves. Suspect nitrogen issue..will see how she does in the next day or two (while researching possible causes).
Girls are looking happy overall and seem to be going strong.
Still no signs of sex yet...🤞 they are all girls. Although I wouldn't mind at least one male just to make some space for the other ones 😄
Found a Blue Panarian under one of the pots. It's a carnivorous flatworm and among some of its prey are earthworms. Definitely want a safe haven for my earthworms, so this one had to be evicted.
Happy cultivating growmies!
Grow going well. Noticed some of the plants leaves getting a yellow tinge. Tested pH and was waaay to high. Corrected that with pH lowered water. Fed them some nutrients as well. Other than that looking good.
Found the reason why leaves were yellowing! F@#king spider mites!! Treated with Yates Conquering oil. I have done two treatments so far and can't see anymore mites. Only two were really affected but treating all of them to rid the room of those little red monsters. Will do another 2/3 treatments to make sure they're all gone. Also been monitoring pH of water given and runoff and it's staying in the 6.2 - 6.7 range so I'm happy with that. Also lollipopped and defoliated them a bit to help with airflow.
Switched light schedule to 12/12 on 15/08/21. So this is day 20 of flowering. The best part is that I got 5 out of 5 females. Zero males and this all from bag seeds..so stoked. I should play the lotto now 😀.
Harvested 2 more (1 remains) girls. #5 is super frosty and has solid nugs on her. She smells amazing as well. Can't wait to try her after she has cured for a few months.
#2 looks to be more on the fluffy side. Buds not as solid but still looks tasty with her frost covered nugs.
Easy plants to grow. Had minimal issues with pests and fungus. Only had spider mites and a few caterpillars, but got them under control fairly quickly. Can't wait for these girls to cure for a few months and have a good smoke.
