Broke soil
Brrrr! It's cold down here! Maybe that's why she kept her hat on. Performed helmet removal Day 3. Using hand warmer under pot for warmth. Reduced tent space by adding large box - warmed up 3-4°. Added friends (bell flowers, spearmint and lavender).
Light 25% Intensity
Added comforter to encase tent and surrounded it on three sides with various storage items to increase warmth. Growth seems lacking. Spray to water. No nutes.
Oof. Who underwaters their plant! This guy! I was scared to overwater. Transplanted to black plastic container to help warm things up. She might not make it. :(
Oh wait! What is this perkiness?! Yayyyyyyyy
Light 40% Intensity.
Perfection.
Topped two more branches.
Started increasing light Intensity.
Transplanted to new 5 gal pot to increase soil depth - used FFOF.
Last friend moved out.
Just keep swimming.
Light 100%
Feed FF, water, Feed molasses.
Still raining, started getting cool.
Rapid growth seems to have slowed.
Starting to smell sweet.
Started experiencing what I think is lockout and/or Phosphorus deficiency. Grow friend said molasses can do that to some plants. Lost about 10 older/bottom leaves (didn't fall off but were easily plucked with very little effort). Boo.
Didn't do full flush, but twice as much water as usual followed by another straight distilled regular amount watering two days later.
Hopefully she holds on a couple more weeks!
Smells delicious and everything is so sticky! <3
Pistils starting to redden.
Top leaves seem to be praying more and maybe bleaching slightly. Considering dropping intensity a little bit since I am out of height to back off.
Growth feels slower this week, lost about 10 more leaves. Tested with aquarium strips and all I can tell is that PH isn't high. Assuming it is a little low, added 1tsp of baking soda to first dose of nutes in a week to see if that helps if there is lockout/deficiency. Was going to order digital PH tester (I know, I know, just assumed I would be okay in FF soil/1/4 strength FF nutes and distilled water) but it won't arrive until August 11th and new grow shop in my rural community hasn't opened yet. I feel like it is too late to bother at this point if it's going to take that long to arrive, rookie mistake for making assumptions earlier :(.
Hopefully she will be able to finish up still having more than 80% healthy leaves, buds still look beautiful and unscathed.
Is this what heaven smells like?
Oof, man, problems.
Buds still look and smell great but my leaves are really struggling. Lost about 10 leaves this week from the bottom.
Top leaves, I thought were looking light burned. Confused because I was told this isn't possible with an LED (especially over a foot away). My gut says light burn but everything else says lockout and nute burn.
My plant is more likely to be underfed than overfed.
Last day of Week 6, I think I just need to ride the wave instead of trying to fix anything. Buds still gaining weight.
Welp, that's a wrap! She's getting the chop tomorrow! It's been fun.
We will see tomorrow but I think I produced about half of what I was expecting. Just grateful I got my first grow to the finish line.
Time for the real work. Sticky icky nom nom.
Woot!!
Gets me where I am going. Stimulates all 5 senses. Bounced back from death beautifully. Chill/relaxed, creative, positive buzz (could just be my happiness smoking my own shit for the first time but two thumbs way up). Oil turned out well with 17g popcorn/sugar to 16oz coconut oil.
This strain was fantastic to work with, so forgiving. Smells like heaven. Decent buzz. I am satisfied with the results of my first grow (of any plant actually). I wish I could have had more weight in the end but under water, wind burn and cold in the beginning and underfeeding throughout - I am just happy she made it to the end.
This app was great! Will be even more helpful for the next grow.
Thank you for all the support every one! Next one will be 3-4oz! Especially now that a grow shop opened up in my small town. Hashtag: NYLegal - Hashtag: weedsaveslives
Nice grow👍things seem to be going pretty well. Losing some of the lower leaves is pretty normal this far into flower, but yeah, as soon as you get those nutes you should feed her. Also, you could look into some natural source fertilizers in the meantime. Things like banana peel tea or fermented fruit juices etc.
@indoorontario, hey bud, I got nutes, it's a digital PH tester that I was waiting on. Thanks for the info though. I started my own compost so I plan to make an organic tea for the next grow.
hey man, isn't baking soda increasing the salts in the water?.I think with baking soda there is some ion-displacing goin on if you add it, but Iam not sure lol. the leaves look like phosphorus deficiency.. but in this stage I think it is normal for the plant to leach out some lower leaves it don't need anymore. not a sign to up your nutrients a lot. how high sits your LED? 100w should be perfect for that space.. I also think that maybe crosslighting causes yellowing a lot with LEDs.... other than that It is almost impossible in my experience to prevent a bit yellowing after 5 weeks of flower... some of it is natural I guess or at least doesn't really matter. looks good bro.
@Mud868, hey man, thanks for your thoughtful response. I only added 1tsp in a gallon and a half of water to try raising PH. I don't think I have used enough of any nutes to cause a lockout but my buddy said molasses can. I was thinking K deficiency or lightburn, maybe both. Decided to do a soil test, twice, and it came back good both times. So could be micros? My light is 16" and I thought I dimmed the intensity to 90% but I forgot to flip dimmer switch power button - duh! She was still at 100% for like 3 days before I realized my error. Dropped it for sure, so I will see how she looks in a day or two to make a decision what's going on. Either way, yeah, I am pretty far in to be making any major changes. Week 7 bayyyybeeeeeeee
