Like always waiting on the beans to pop open in dirt directly is always a gamble but safest method to not destroying the fibers on there newly sprouted roots. You can always loosen the soil to peak in after 18 hours and that prevents you from even having to wait an additional 18 hrs of waiting for the shell to sink. I decided to attempt a 1/3 bottom feed water only that is kind of like a super soil but regular all purpose to see an auto flowers potential
This week was very slow and I was inpatient to see them sprout and start. I was like a kid having to wait 20 more days to x-mas to get my present open. They struggled the first few days because they seemed to reach up pretty far. I just increased the light a little bit and made a hill of coco around there stems to keep them stable. After day four of sprout they both came to life with the sf4000 and 30% dim at 32 inches fixed them reaching out and started there leave spread. The only thing I added was water because I have already put 1/3 of whatever they’re going to be eating on the bottom part of the bucket like a super soil since they only require 1/8 th of what a photo needs.
This week is was the first week I started my cal mag with my watering. I add it with my first and give a liter every three days of ph adjusted. So far there are bud sites all over. I’d rather have a whole bunch of weed than one giant bud.
The left plant that was soil only when I seeded is smaller but growing at the same rate. Took about a week longer before it started to grow up. The seed that had a hand full of coco for its starter swelled up and loves all purpose dry amendments. So she must of had a mother grew with organic s. The smaller plant I’m assuming came from a hydro mother because she stalls and each time I water she grows. I’m gonna investigate that theory and give her an extra watering of a half gallon a day apart to see if the smaller plant will uptake and grow faster and catch up. We’ll see. Been an easy week because I added the 5-5-5 in the bottom third so it’s water only till harvest with cal mag once a week till flush.
I have tiny bud sites that are forming on bottom parts where I mainlined and they might make popcorns. Should I leave them and defoliate big fans or cut the little sites and leave the fans .Spots are losing light and it’s popping flowers so I’m trying not to stress em
This week was slow. I transferred them to there flowering tent and wish I kept them in the closet. The temps are increasing and I think the intake fan is broken or carbon filter is full. Idk yet but I took two cuttings off the plant on the left cause it’s seems to be growing and living longer than the right and they rooted. So I’m going to supercropped them and hope they harvest a decent single bud at the same time.
This week has been great. I watched there pistils tip and sweep out so fast in this one week more pistils have popped out to swell even fatter. I might have three more weeks in both them so imma water only like I have, flush out in two weeks , then chop that ice cream delight down, cure and enjoy the savor.
I Did 72 hrs of darkNess and purple And red tones flourished all over. The smell got very strong when the lights were out at 48 hours and tricomes increased only a little but still covered nice and frosty. The curing part is easy and there’s not so many fans or sugars to work around. Just bud lol which is what we all aim for. Good seed fast buds I’ll definitely get more. Also if you cut a cola and clone early in flower it will root and bud just week or so behind it’s mother. Proof is in the pictures.
My growth cycle with the strain was overall what I was hoping for. The smell and taste as delicious. For future reference the seed I started in Coco grew faster but had smaller buds in theEnd and the seed that was straight soil with perlite grows way slower during veg but outlives and outgrows the plant with Coco. Both were seeded on the same day in their harvest cuts were two weeks apart that’s why I’m just now getting to this. But I wanted to share that information with everybody in case somebody else was wondering the outcome in my observation soil and perlite is the way to go. Also you can clone these and super crop if it was an option @fastbuds. Look how good these swelled out

@Fast_Buds, those gelatos have swelled out sweetly. Whole house is smelling like ice cream. One is growing really fast and the other is slowly a few weeks behind it. Check them out. Good good nuggets forming.

@Cannabeast40, I tried a different method of germinating and it worked out perfect. Usually I would of put the seed in a peer moos or seed starter cube and place it in the dirt to biodegrade but I just put an inch of coco starter above the bean and used a spray bottle. I was able to get the benefits of control without having to water up or we t napkin. And it’s did all three steps in over a 24 hr period instead of three days. I would usually post a pic but haven’t quiet figured out how to add them without starting a new week yet lol.
@spyder, I was going to do my run of grand mommy purple but the gelatos seemed weathered enough to go indoors and outdoors for the summer so I’m going to save the Mack mommas for the fall and grow them through the winter. Hopefully I can make one a mother and let her reach for the clouds come next spring
@DoDrugs420, I’ve only had them ladies in the soil for less than 24 hrs and they have already got there dirt tips open up and reaching for the light. Cant wait till eight weeks counting down.

@MrHightimes, I wish they would fix it where you could take a pic on the contest as you join one. I’ve done harvested my fall harvest so it’s har to take more pictures when they need em. It makes you add new weeks for a pic already posted and that’s the only thing I don’t like about this site.
If they make the top of the canopy after the 2/3 week stretch after flip I leave them if they only make it half way then it depends on how much light it’s getting after I defoliate the fans apart from top few fans but if they are getting fair bit of light then I leave a bit longer and see what happens, but the smaller ones lower down and any site not getting enough light after defoliation get the chop that’s just how I do it anyways
