Northern Lights Xpress AUTO

Aug 3, - first week of Veg - yesterday I transplanted the Auto into a 10 gallon flex-pot, a little off-centre - it is under the 1200 w LED @ Veg setting, & ~ 30” for day 1 (was hoping to have black•congo•mystic under this starter lite by now) Aug 8th - with the room-mates taking so long, the Northern Lights will be going into the big-tent today. She’s ready. Aug 9th - Temp and Humidity controls are up and running without issue - lowering the CMH into a closer position. monitoring the Seedlings Surface temp... 18/6 light sched in use - substrate is at a dry stage. I’m implementing a watering / feeding program today. 3 cups day-old water were circled… - Last day of Week #1; " time to get organized !! " - the other grow involving 3 photoperiods… has progressed and 2 of them have moved into the tent.

Aug 10th, - building a watering routine based on 3-day intervals w/ increasing amounts - lowering CMH to get things cooking - Congo on the left, Natural Mystic on the right. They stay in the Tent when Northern Lights is done. Then its lights out. Waiting on one more... Aug 11th - circled with 4 cups water (waiting 3 days now, watching out for quick drying re: so much CoCo Coir in this mix. All good. Trying to water in a solid “column area” around seedling, for quick root penetration in a big pot - temp & humidity being increased - foliar spray at lights-out. 1st application of a Fulvic Acid + Transport; and a small amount of Epsom Salt Aug 13th - found myself watering N.L.E. a day early… wrong. So I used half volume ie: 2.5 cups, before it was too late - Foliar Spray Aug 15th, - 5 cup watering, next feed in 3-4 days will have the 1st nutes included. - 4th set of leaves being made - cotyledon & 1st leaf removed Aug 16th - next feed will introduce some Nutrition. Let the games begin All looks really good, except dropping my glasses on her… 😢

Aug 17 - Starting week 3 with some food and some training. - bent the plant over for a little LST. FEELING the HST I applied to the maui wowie was a bit much… In a tent with photoperiods, I want to keep the height limited to a degree. upwards slope is what we are looking for - 6 cups fed & circled with Root boost and Cal/mg as the first nutes. 6cup= ~ 1.5 Litres -next feed is 1.75 L and we go with bigger volumes…. (& carefully extending the time between alternate, Big feedings. Let it dry ~ 4 days, lift the p0t, make sure it needs it). Dry Rules, here we go. - Foliar spray @ lites-out 11 a.m. - scratched 5 tsp of Kelp Meal into the entire top-surface. A truly small dose and any feedwater now goes through the Kelp Meal, sharing the goodies. Working the amount up towards target, with each “monthly” dose. (Normal Kelp dose for the 10 gal pot would be 10 tsp or 2.5 tbsp per month) - 1 Tsp/Gal is target 🎯 (outside, I guess on the high-side; ie Tbsp’s) 18th - this Super Soil seems to provide an accurate “shadow”to indicate levels of water/moisture. 19th - foliar spray at lights out Aug 20th - fed N.L. 1.75L of water/nutes Aug 21st - foliar spray - tied down a few of the key limbs with wire. Just shy of HST, lets put some shape to it Aug 23rd - plant looks great, no damage to Branches or stem via being rolled over a barrel - moisture looks like it will be no problem getting through the day, till dinner-time and being fed 2 Litres. Its been gentle increases in liquid volume to this point. - last day of this week, things are moving - Limb restraining is complete basically at this point; plant has a sideways direction, lets see how it adjusts. I’ll open it tonight for show… - bigger feeds followed by smaller feeds is the cycle I will be working towards, and watering the whole surface!!! - foliar spray @ lites out - end of week #3

Aug 24th - plant looks solid and is really taking off - finished with any restraints Aug 26th - 2.5 Litre dinner tonight - adding Molasses for the first time 28th a.m., last foliar spray 29th - moisture check with meter says wait a day. This is day 3 since last feed. Time to let it dry-out a bit in the core. Then we’ll hit it again. - no more Foliar spraying - FYI Introducing small amount of Bloom nutes later next week - next meal posted above Aug 30th - meal-time tonight; 3L - last day week 4 - i’ve got some leaf-tucking to do, and a few leaves to remove

Aug 31 - fed last on the 30th - plant is thriving, filling out and starting to take shape. Some Pistils are present Sept 2 - Next meal posted above; 50% volume of the last big (3L) meal & 4 days since, this starts a 4 day / 2 day cycle of feeding. (1.5 liters tonight) - this morning I sorted the plant out tucking leaves and identifying its shape. Its continuing to grow out and away, developing a full network of branches/nodes. This morning I can say its starting to rock ** and Yes, I will turn the Fans OFF next time and find some funky tunes instead 🎶 - amending the soil tonight with a layer of Sheep-manure compost, Kelp Meal, Perlite with a bit of Epsom Salts and some real dirt. Treating all 4 plants with ~ 1” or so each. 3rd - I’m liking how the plant is easily filling this 10 gallon pots surface. I only provided a little direction and its off and running now - nutes get bumped-up… 4th - if the soil lets me, 3.5L is the targeted “big feed” tonight; Nope 5th - fed N.L. 3.5L first thing in the morning. Its the weekend, lites on till 12:30 and the transition to Bloom food has happened - tds was a little high, I’ll deal with that 6th -last day of the week - 1/2 feeds will be only water from here on in. Nutes will be in the big feed.

Sept 7th - bring on the Flowers - fed last on the morning of Sept 5th, 1/2 feeding volume tonight with water & Molasses only; 1.75L 8th - the plant looks wonderful and is appearing to rise like a loaf of bread, equally. Its an open and airy kind of structure. But the buds are definitely taking shape - lowering tent temp a bit target 25c Sept 10th - fed Northern Lights 4L H2O/Nutes for breakfast Sept 11th - it only took a few observations to see that this Candidate is URGENTLY growing. - 27cm up to 35cm in 3 days, i’ll take that Sept 12th - feeding delayed a day - @ 40cm lol I tied her branches down to the flex-pot after seeing uniform growth across the plant. Totally brings the middle of the plant right back into full-action mode - canopy height finished @ 34cm on the perimeter, vs 40 - throw-in a bunch of Leaf-tuking and thats all i can say till next week Sept 13th - last day week 6, she looks active and healthy. Holding off on feeding 1 more day…

Sept 14th - 2L blast of water/Molasses tonight. She’s in flower, she gets double molasses; ~35-40ml/gal - Next meal with Nutes is a Few days away, menu is above - lowered some of the branches, again. She looks solid Sept 16th - 4.5L tonight H20/Nutes - you can see the buds are forming that first layer of the buds are krinkly baby leaves. On the whole plant. 18th, some LST to even things-out this pm ( heading out to take some crazy pictures overnite. Lst postponed only for a good reason; but panama x malawi & some green mtn. grape will be travelling with us) Sept 20th, last day week 7 - small h2o/molasses for N.L. is the plan; 2.5L - scratching some kelp meal into the surface of the soil ~ 6tbsp

Sept 21st - last nite was a 1/2 volume h2o/molasses feed - re-shaped the canopy with LST to bring them all back to one height Sept 22nd - looking Oh So healthy, but I’m Going to check run-off, when she’s fed. I’ve never analyzed run-off before. Tonight (or tomorrow) I will check just to see whats coming out the bottom. Feed volumes are enough that there is a bit of run-off at each big feed. - Green Lite for serving 5L Nutes/water tonight. Plant is consuming the water levels being given. Moisture meter and pot weight confirm the levels can continue to be gently increased ( big feed, small feed, big, small etc ! / target 4 days, 2 days, 4, 2 etc ) - Its working in this 10 gallon pot - big power failure for half of city from huge wind storm. Just entered 3rd hour - as I was getting ready to feed her, all the lights in the south end died. Not my fault… 23rd - power outage was for just over 4hours… they will get a little extra light todAy - fed the plant when the power returned at 1:30 Sept 24th - in 2 weeks this plant will be moved to the 2’ tent, to allow the other 4 photo-periods to go into flower. October 8 she moves into a cozy LED environment. - here it is week 8… and it looks like it needs 5 or 6 more anyway. I like surprises, but this one needs some TLC in the home stretch. hows that? Any comments on an extended Auto-grow, from an Express genome? Humans probably lol 25th - LST applied to even-out and lower the canopy further; all good - Pistiles have begun to turn brown/orange while some are still exploding 27th - last day of the week - 2.5L h2o/molasses for early breakfast - next meal 6L, its time - buds are starting to Fiill-Up, definitely gaining a little Girth, for lack of a better word. (Nice way to start next week)

Sept 28th - feeding the plant tonight; 6L - Buds are phattening with an occasional sparkle. Trichomes growing in the buds, sugar leaves Sept 29th - as things move forward, the move into the small tent has happened, and NLXA is now finishing under the 1200w LED lite in the small tent - new roomate; Lemon Pie Auto from FastBuds 420 30th - LST’d a few of the branches to keep our canopy in-check - no issues in the move from CMH to LED, buds are looking juicy as they fill-up - going to freshen-up on the UV-b bulb application, I have one in the Tent that's been waiting a while. (Used it with a CMH grow, only to find it's not really needed under that Wavelength [PanamaxMalawi and I believe it made one plant have more crystals, regardless of the CMH main-light source] and it was used under LED lites with positive results on the Maui Wowie auto-grow from Beaver Seeds. I'll get tuned-up on application times... Oct 1 - reducing Volume of H2o/Nutes being fed as Main meal, based on a co-grow’s results of Salt build-ups in the soil - flushing the Northern Lites tonight, more as insurance based on the other 10 gal pot; natural mystic re: high salts in the run-off. - 20 gallon flush ✅ completed Oct 4 - last day week 9

Oct 6th - she was allowed to dry since the Flush on the 1st, and was fed 4.5L h2o/nutes this morning - healthy, building a Smell and sticky as … Oct 10th - plant looks great Oct 12th - last day of week 10 - fed the plant 5L for an early breakfast. - snipped a bud and the trichomes are there in spectacular #’s and are still clear - plant looks amazing - picture #10 is a good reference shot when it comes to what defoliations I have done. Only leaves growing right back into the plants middle; And thats about 5 or 6 tiny shadow-makers, tops. Its almost intact and has maintained this initial Bending-over without issue. (wire-ties shall remain nameless)

Oct 13th - Trichome check is 75% clear - will consider Flushing the plant today. Phoenix says 7-8 weeks. I used a single-session HST approach and its just gliding into week 11 with oodles of clear Trichomes, and long white Pistils are still being made (foxtails?) ** next Meal then Flush sounds good. ** Flushed plant w/ 20 gallons no issue. Skipping that last meal I spoke of, she’s healthy - confirmed through watching a few videos, that this plant is at the right stage to prepare for harvest. Patience wins now - next meal posted above - Calyx are swelling and becoming Obvious Oct 16th, clean week of growing. This could be the last day or two of light for the Northern Lights Express Auto 17th - trichome check tonight - looking forward to some discolouration of the Sugar leaves. Don’t want to be too eager 🤩 18th pm - soil moisture check; still kinda wet Oct 19th - last day of the week - fed (last) snack of h2o / molasses / rezin / gph @ 2.5L

Oct 20th - start of the “last” week for the Northern Lights Express Auto. She is bulking-up big-time and will be harvested this week. Planning a couple “days in the dark” closer to the weeks end - don’t want to pull the plug too early, Calyx’s are changing shape by the minute; and more white hairs are turning Red/Orange, so its only a matter of time. Took some shots a few moments ago (camera) tonight its a scope ! Oct 21st ~ Slowly reducing the time under the lights to help push the goodness out. 18 hrs > 14 hrs > 12hrs last nite, 9 tonight / 6 hrs Friday & Chop Sunday is the plan Oct 24th - last light bonus for this plant, tonight. Other than Flash exposures afterwards of course. This is it for the Northern Lights Express Auto. Teasing it with 4-6 hrs tonight, ✔️ Its in the dark 26th - dinner time will be ~ 40hrs in a dark cool room. Anytime round there its to be harvested - she is hanging

Oct 26th p.m. - Already a truly extended grow at the end of 12 weeks, I have pulled the plug on this Lady. My single HST event truly delayed, or extended the life cycle of the Express. Would have loved to see the sugar leaves turn, but the Amber trichomes Arrived when I looked this morning. Then a contractor nicked a water line in my bathroom and partially flooded the cool dark room below, in the basement. Yep, the same room the plant was chilling-in. When its time its time. Drain - Click - Chop - Hang… baby! Certainly will return with more weights and tastes... BIG maybe... a couple ounces The remaining Fan leaves were removed when the branches were individually hung There is not much natural foliage, so the initial dry-down may not take too many days. Snapping twig will be a good starting point... Later And Thanks Everyone ! Everybody that looked, typed laughed or got involved, it was appreciated. ~ d Oct 31st - I bent 3 branches and heard 3 snaps, so on the table it went. Just over 2 ounces ( 3 grams) from this 1st kick at the Northern Lights Express Auto Certainly an Easy Grow !! My single HST event sure seemed to mix the plant up and really extend the grow for this Auto. “I pulled the plug” at the end of 12 weeks when I saw a big change in Amber trichomes, or it would have been nice to get to those Yellow sugar leaves. That was probably 2 full weeks away… With not too many leaves on these branches, trimming was a breeze and the fingertips were covered in a generous resin. This is the first Indica I’ve grown, and being an auto it had an 18 hour diet of light throughout. share a doob report in a week, as the cure is in progress Would have liked to see the Fan leaves turn Yellow, its just the rush of Amber trichomes far outweighed the Clear ones showing. With a grow that was extended, I was not waiting further. And I’m still reall happy with the grow. Enough Indica talk, lts get back to something with Sparks ! Thanks for the help and support Gang !
