This question isnt for this plant but i already asked a question on the other diary. I think i overwatered my autoflower and i was wondering what the best way to speed up the drying of the soil to maybe counteract that?

I have a plant that was showing red stems and from what I understand there are some plants where this is just a natural part of their look, whereas many others are receiving enough phosphorus, once I added a strong pk booster to my plants the red stems faded. I used foxfarm open sesame but there are others like remos astro flower which is basically the same thing in a liquid version. Possibly up the PK and also check the reports on this strain in case it's normal for it to redden. Happy growing to ya. 😊

I need some different opinions on harvesting,Dry,cure how do YOU do it? Do you dry or wet trim? How can i make sure my buds will be dried and cured to perfection. I wanna know everybodies different methods. What temps and humidity do you prefer to dry and cure in? 🌱

I live in a desert climate with usually low humidity and high summer temperatures. Keeping the larger leaves intact during drying slows down the drying process. Otherwise I run the real risk of my buds drying out too quickly and perhaps ruining them.

Hey there so for me this weekend i was really pressed for time...things dont always work out exactly how you plan. So the 1st plant i cut down piece by piece, and removed its big leaves and hung it upside down on a line, unfortunately i ran out of time and had to harvest the rest the next day. The second plant us an odd ball, has been since day 1. So with her i still cut 1 piece at a time but i removed fan leaves and gave her a small wet trim as she was a plant with too many leaves popping out of everywhere. Then again hung her upside down on a line. Now theyre all hanging in a nice dark low humidity and relatively warm place...and i check em each day to make sure theyre not getting too dry too fast. Once theyre dry its another bit of trimming and off to the mason jars for a good long cure. Happy Harvesting, i love the Maui Waui strain. ✌️💚🌱 oh btw you may wanna try keeping your humidity below 50% and temp is on you, if im able i try keeping it about 65 degrees...but really you sometimes just have to make due with what's available to you. Also with my mason jars when theyre curing i open each day shake it lightly and let them breathe for several minutes. 😊

Hello ! In the caribbean I have high and low relative humidity from a day to another so I always use a fan or 2 straight on the drying plants and It can take 5 days ot 12 depending on the RH but the fans are close so a good airflow in a dark and mostly dry place. When the RH is too high during 3 or 4 days then I turn on my AC in the drying mode like 2 hours a day to help but when doing that I loose terpenes ( can blow half of the taste sometimes). Then when the plants are dry I remove remove my leaves then I put them in jars and let the jars in the dark , I open my jars 15min a day every day during a month (If I can fight the temptation) , if I open then a sunny day then it's cool and if I opend the on a rainy day then I put a fan on the buds. And I dry the whole plant at once , not the buds on a net ! I hope it will help you 😁👍

Deer or construction netting works and is readily available inexpensively. If you wanted the net, which to this day baffles me. If plants are strong and LSTd well, they need no support during flower. Scrog just seems like extra work for the canna hobbyist who can’t get enough garden time. @Experimentgreen wrote “ Hey there I love the auto name so clever.”.I believe she’s being facetious, but I like the simplicity. I’ve grown a bit weary of clever names that are meaningless. But if you demand a fun name for Hawaii x Maui, how about AhhhLoha? NOTE: the strain name AhhhLoha is the intellectual property of Shhh! Brand Seeds, located in Washington DC

@Experimentgreen No we are not lunatics for loving the aroma of growing plants more than burning ones! See that?!! - common ground! My friends include comics and talk show hosts, and for us, being facetious is not an insult, or even a bad thing. It is a form of comedy, and of course not everyone enjoys it. Standing in line to checkout yesterday with a few others, one person at the front of the shop was screaming into her phone, to the distraction of everyone. When she hung up and looked as us, I turned to the group and said “She seems nice”

Experimentgreencommented7 years ago
@growdoctordc, When I think of facetious I think of someone who is like cracking jokes at funerals...or someone just rear ended really bad and a cop says oh well at least he gave it to your backside instead of the front. You get it right...someone who cant take any serious situation so they have to joke in order to cope or something like that.

Nice photos this week Nomad! Those plants have to be close to harvest. Any changes from last week? How are the trichomes looking? You are going to need to devote several hours to harvest! I usually flush with filtered water, then after a day or two I put them in the dark for 3 days. After that I just snip off all the branches, trim the bigger leaves and let my buds dry for as long as necessary. Finally, I do a serious trim and put everything in mason jars. I usually open, roll around, and allow the nasty stuff to escape the jars a few times a day. I can usually smoke the buds in a few weeks. Last grow I didn't let the soil dry out enough before I harvested the plant. I don't think it hurt the buds, but it was a little messy.

@Nomad, Let me know what you find. I'm going on bits and pieces I've picked up over the years. I'd bet a lot of it is just folklore. I know it won't hurt, so there is no harm.
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, im not sure im gunna read up on it a little more but ill probably cut it as soon as it starts to droop from being dry. This plant was a test to see what different training methods would do to it. So one more experiment before harvest wont hurt lol

She looks fantastic! All of your bud sites are at similar height. You could easily flip her now and keep training her as she stretches. If she is a tall sativa, you are going to have a tree on your hands! In the big scheme of things it won't matter if you wait. Every time you grow, you have different ideas that you try to implement. Sometimes they work, sometimes, not so much. Waiting won't hurt anything at all. After you harvest this grow, you can revisit some of your decisions and decide whether it was worth it. That gives you wisdom for your next grow, which will be awesome as well!

@Nomad, Blomm 600w LED/Cree Light. I found some information on the higher wattage version, but not a lot about this particular light. I bought it on Amazon. I like the light so far. It doesn't run very hot, and it fights nicely in my tent. I finished my first grow using it for flowering and I'm really happy with that harvest. This is first time using it all from seed to harvest.
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Nomad, That is too funny. Let's hope that doesn't happen again. I know I would hate cutting my tent's bottom off.

@Nomad, Are you able to pull your plants out from the tent? I put my girl in the sink for a flush once a week so I have to take her out of the tent. I'm amazed at how different they look! That intense light really changes what you see. Try it when you are taking photos sometime.

Your plants look great! However, they look like they are several weeks into flowering. You might want to change your journal entry to flowering. My first grow I switched my journal to flowering as soon as I changed my light cycle. However, she didn't start showing flowers until almost 3 weeks later. Your girl is showing a lot more than that!
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@Nomad, I'll go with stoned. I still think both of the plants are flowering. Either way, they both look really nice. The tall one is going to have a giant cola when you are done.
Nomad
Nomadcommented7 years ago
@Quexos, no buds yet on the maui but that pic is of both plants in the same pic and if thats not the reason than its because of the lighting in the pic idk lmao
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Nomad, I'm really confused (read stoned). Picture 3 clearly shows some nice young buds. Am I missing something? I like the idea though. I have an auto growing and I think and I think I'll start a photo when my current auto is about 4 weeks from harvest.

Gratz on the harvest! The buds look fantastic. I can't wait to see your harvest trimmed and ready.
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, i usually wet trim but i wanted to see the difference but really i wanted to let them dry out a little with the foliage on it and ill take them off and trim them about half way thru the dry. But when i wet trim it seems like they dry out too fast my rh is about 53% right now
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@Nomad, I'd say its more of a preference. I know that you plants will dry slower due to all the leaves, but that is a good thing in dryer climates. I'm a desert dweller so I like having the extra leaves depending on the season. My biggest beef would be ease of trimming. It seems easier to trim the plant with the leaves fresh as opposed to wilted and wrapped around the buds.
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, thanks brother im excited to see it trimmed up also i decided to leave all the foliage on it to help it dry a little slower ive never hung the whole plant with the leaves and all so im trying it out.

You are definitely on the home stretch. How are the trichomes looking? All in all, a beautiful grow.
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, they seem to be all maturing at th same rate i mght chop the tops and let the lower buds keep going. Theres so many buds all over the place lol this was an experiment and it seemed work in some ways
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@Nomad, My tent has flaps on all 4 sides. I can reach into 3 of them since one side is against the wall. Hopefully the ones in the back are at the same stage or less mature. You can harvest in stages if need be. It depends on your harvest/drying set up. Honestly though, if they are already milky, you won't go wrong in your plans. If you think the buds are still filling out then go for it. I wish I knew how long it takes trichomes to go from milky to amber. It would help with planning the end of the grow.
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, thank you yeah definetly close i wanna give it another few weeks we will see what happens. The trichs are getting milky but i have the 420 scope and its damn hard to use it cuz its so small and sometimes hard to focus and i dont wanna check the buds in the back because that would mean i have to lean over the frontline of buds and i dont wanna damage my trichs lol i havent touched these buds once really maybe lightly when im tying it up
Quexos
Quexoscommentedweek 196 years ago
Man it will only get worse from here! You still have a few weeks to go and its already stinky and sticky!
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, ive heard about that im sure it works because alot of people have done it but idk if i could do that to my buds but if you experiment ill happily watch from here lol
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@Nomad, I hear that. So far none of my grows have been stinky. The cured buds have smelled great, but I'm not stinking up an entire room in my house! I've been talking to another grower, Bluesbreeder, about budswelling. Instead of not touching the buds at all, he is experimenting with intentionally pinching the buds to make them larger. He directed me to a few articles to read. I might try it on a few buds since I'm getting ready to flower. I'll have to read the articles first though.
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, lol no complaints from me the stinkier and stickier the better. The smell is becoming so amazing its intoxicating to be in the room i just wanna sit there and sniff it up but im not touching the buds with my skin at all im trying to preserve the trichs and trich heads
Quexos
Quexoscommentedweek 146 years ago
You are finally on the home stretch! Gratz! She is a fine looking specimen for flowering. She is going to stretch quite a bit in the next few weeks. Keep that in mind when determining your available space.

@Quexos, oh trust me i know but i wanted to experiment and see what happens, i still have space in the tent
Quexos

Quexos
Quexoscommentedweek 236 years ago
Those are some heavy looking buds! The photos look like the stalks were falling over from their own weight! Since you opened up the canopy, have your decided to harvest in stages?
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, also when i let her stretch her arms i didnt really give her enough time to bulk up i kindve just said screw it and flipped her so now her lower branch arms arent the strongest ive seen but theyll do. Its hard for me to check the trichs in the middle and on the back so im guessing another week or two
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, yess super heavy buds and i think i might have to harvest the inner buds and leave the big buds to finish
Quexos

Beautiful frosty colas! Nice!
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@Nomad, You will get a lot of kief when you start your trimming. I have a screen on my trimming tray. It collects underneath. Frosty buds like that will produce a ton just from handling the bud stalks while trimming. Yummy!
Nomad
Nomadcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, thank you. Yeah im excited to see the frost build up at the finish line if its already this covered
Quexos
Quexoscommentedweek 166 years ago
What a nice looking tent! It's kinda like the Christmas Card I've always wanted! I don't think you'll be sacrificing quantity at all. You might not have those giant colas that you see in High Times, but you are going to have a lot of really nice buds. The quality of the buds are going to be stellar no matter what. If the buds are ticky enough, you could probably press them together to form a giant cola!😂
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@Nomad, I was being a bit sarcastic. You are going to have one helluva harvest!

@Quexos,its still gunna produce some nice colas all the big main tops are trained to the outside of the tent
