AC/DC High CBD grow

FarmerFred AC/DC is the baby on the right. She just met Pineapple Express a few days ago which is about 3 weeks old. I’ve got a second tent to separate them when they get bigger, but atm they are growing happily together. This seed was large and germinated in about 24 hours, then sprouted out of promix 2 days later after planting. By far the fastest I’ve seen, then again I’m a rookie so what do I know. I used a plastic bag as a humidity dome for those 2 days, and once the seedling was above soil I removed it.

FarmerFred What a beast of a seedling. Skipped making 5 fingered leaves and went straight to 7. Also growing really long sharp leaves unlike the Pineapple Express’s short wide roundish leaves. Moved it to a different tent under a slightly more powerful light which I suspect is why it’s got a slight droop. It should adapt just fine though.

FarmerFred Oops, I let the soil get too dry. They will take a day or so to recover but it will be just fine. Just gave a normal watering so I’ll post more pictures when they perk back up. Gave them their first feed of nutes about 5 days ago so I was a little surprised they dried out that quickly. The plant is growing well, leaves are a little crooked but that’s my fault for not watering properly. Next week they will be in bigger pots. Currently 3/4 gal pots, will move into 3.6 gal pots.

FarmerFred Stressful week for this one. Transplanted and overwatered a little bit so it’s taken some time to recover. It’s growing very tall though despite the stresses. Might top it to keep it a little shorter and add some bulk to the plant.

FarmerFred The leaves are just huge on this one. It’s starting to bush out a little bit now that I topped it. Should have done that a lot sooner but I had never topped before. I know better now for next time that topping works.

FarmerFred Been a bit busy but ACDC is thriving. I switched to 12/12 about 12-14 days ago, I have to check the calendar to see when, and I’m now starting to see bud sites forming. I switched the plant to flower a little earlier than I wanted because I wasn’t expecting it to grow so tall so fast. I was beginning to run out of veg room so I made the decision to flower. I’ll train a little earlier next run so I can get a little bushier of a plant to make the most out of my grow space.

FarmerFred Growing really well. Hardly feeding it many nutrients at all and I think it’s got a bit of nute burn still. This ACDC doesn’t take a lot to grow.

FarmerFred I think I need to increase nutrients a little bit. The lower leaves aren’t looking too great. The buds are forming nicely though. Should take 6-7 more weeks I think before chop.

FarmerFred Day 32 of 12/12. Ran into deficiencies and then overfed. Should still be able to make it to harvest. I had to pull the tallest buds down because they were growing too close to the light so at least I know they are still making new growth. I use a sticker on the side of my grow tent to indicate 12 inches of distance from the light so I know if they are too close or not without having to measure. Aiming for 60-70 days so hopefully I figure these deficiencies out. 4-6 weeks to go.

FarmerFred Day 49 of flower. I’ve been dealing with underfeeding and over feeding complications the past 2 weeks. I’m pretty sure I know where I went wrong so I’ll be doing another run of this and try to fix the errors I made next time. For now I’m just lightly feeding until the plant can’t go any longer. It seems to be very sensitive to over feeding unlike my Pineapple Express. I hope to make it to day 60 before harvest but it may not last that long.

FarmerFred I had to chop since I noticed a couple seeds growing on day 54 so I thought it would be best to just cut my losses and start new. I’m growing this for a family member as medication so I’ll be trying again multiple times over so I hope to get better each time. I yielded 29.5g dry as seen in the picture. The 2 biggest buds were about 4-5G each. I wish I hadn’t stressed it so much because I can only imagine how much better my harvest would have been. Anyway, lessons learned, onto the next one.
