You can switch to LED if you want; I start with LEDs now and I'm using 300w. Just keep the light at least 36" away. I usually start around 40" and move my way down slowly. You don't have any serrated edges on your leaves, so they're not getting heat stress. Just keep an eye on it -- CFLs can still put out some decent heat so just keep the lights at least 6" away. I wouldn't worry about your lighting -- whatever you want to use should work fine. Regarding bloom nutes, I wouldn't recommend it this early. Wait until around the pre-flowering or post-flowering stretch to make your switch (other growers can give you their two cents on this). The 3-leaves versus 2 is not a big deal -- some people actually prefer it. You'll likely see 3 bud sites on that node. It's not an issue. Regarding slow growth: I hate to tell you, but I've always had slow growth with DWC/hydro during the first 3 weeks. I was able to speed it up by at least 50% by adding a top feed (~5 mins every 2 hours, or just get a drip feeder). Even still, hydroponics does not seems to produce super fast growth in the first few weeks. However, around weeks 3-4 (once the roots have dropped and are fully in the solution), hydroponics leaves soil in the dust. I am getting super big plants starting around weeks 4 and 5. They are hard to contain, actually. But the slow growth is typical with hydro. Be patient. My biggest problem when I was starting with hydro was my constant messing with them. Make sure your pH is between 5.5 - 6.3, make sure they have plenty of water, and leave them alone! One other thing about nutes -- following my PPMs really solved my level of nutrients. I've found, specifically with autoflowers in DWC, plants can only handle about 75ppm while they're fresh seedlings. I can get up to 150ppm by day 7-10 and then start climbing from there. About 350ppm is where I'm at around week 3. I have never gone above 600ppm with an autoflower in DWC and NOT burned them -- so I'd recommend keeping them rather low. Your plant looks good. Be patient! Week 3 is when you should expect to see major growth.

#1: When should i top my plant? #2: How much co2 should i give in terms of litres per minute? #3: Instead of using co2 manually from the tank, is there any alternative way to emit co2 continously? #4: Should i stop top feeding or just continue?

1. For regular plants, during the 4th week of growth is the usual time; if it's an auto, usually during the 2nd week, TOPping (or FIMing) above the 4th pair of leaves. 2. Unless you have a closed environment, I would not use CO2, or you are just going to exhaust it out, and the cost will be ridiculous 3. I've seen videos of people using a DIY CO2 generator using yeast, you could check into that. 4. What do you mean stop the feeding? In hydro you must maintain a level of nutrients always. Only in soil you can stop feeding since it is a buffered media. PS. I would use your tap water 90 PPM is great range, if you use RO water you'll have to supplement Calcium and magnesium that tap water usually has in abundance.

Hi there! #1 ) Whenever you can but not until she got 3 or 4 nodes, otherwise if topped too young plants may not recover. #2 ) In order for CO2 enrichment to be the most effective, maintain levels up to 1500 ppm of CO2. #3 ) There are many alternatives that will cost you a kidney :D #4) Such young seedlings don't need anything but roots stimulator, watch out, they look overfed. I'll be around, good luck with these babies!

You've already got the answers to the questions buy I'll add in my thoughts #1 When should topping be done! We advise at node 4-5 :) #2 why do leaves curl from the sides This is normal down to nutrient toxicity mainly nitrogen over dose/over feeding :) As said plants in this younger stage don't need much feed other than a root stimulator and maybe a slight bit of growth feed if your medium has no n/p/k ratio :) I'm caught up now and will be watching with interest :) Good luck my friend! All the best Mark..

Germinated for 4 days. Day 1: Soaked in RO water under 24 hours (Root: 0.5cm) -> Day 2: Paper towel method (Root: 1 cm) -> Day 3: Checked every 6 hours to mist (warm) (Root: 1.5 cm) -> Day 4: Soaked rockwool PH5.8 and assign the seedling in it (Root: 2 cm). The picture above is exactly 7 days from day 4.

ya you have or had root rot. The lower (newer) roots look good and white. We should keep or hydro nutrient solution between 62 and 68F. Co2 should absolutely never exceed 1800ppm (get a monitor). For 82F I would suggest around 1000-1200ppm. Remember that they will need a lot of light or your just wasting your co2

They are not white but they don’t appear matted together in a mushy mass, which is what I associate with root rot, in my limited hydro experience. How’s the smell? That’s a good indicator. Do the root tips crunch when you pinch them or do they flatten easily? Should be like a fresh mung bean

@salteeze, I’m am no hydro expert. Many others here are. The weak fish pond smell suggests some algae, while not a disaster it it's not good either. Clean the res with weak bleach solution. And if you leave a trace that’s ok. Works like hydroguard but it’s potentially toxic so don’t give em more than a drop When I grew hydro I would bite root tips to check for crispness and fresh taste. I don’t eat it - just test it. Should taste fresh and clean, wth the consistency of an alfalfa or mung sprout.

@growdoctordc, i do smell something like a fish pond but not that strong. It's not smelly but it has THAT smell. Idk how else to describe the smell of it. I haven't pinched the root tips but how is it supposed to be? I have a feeling that the res has insufficient oxygen as im currently using a 5 litres per minute air pump. I need to buy a bigger air pump sigh. Anyways, should i get cuttings from the mother and build another tent specifically for veg? Currently in dilemma.

You've got a solid plan my friend. Harvest those big top flowers then leave the lowers for 10-14 days to soak up the extra lumens that will be available 👊 Good luck with the partial harvest mate 👍 All the best ✌️ Mark..
