Soaked in dripping wet paper towel inside clean, vented Rubbermaid container for first 24 hours in extremely diluted nutrient solution. I did pH balance it. After shell cracked, moved seeds to barely damp paper towel with same Nutrient ppm but wringed out, and hung vertically inside a clean plastic baggie with Taproot pointed down. Then moved to Rockwool cubes with same ppm nutrient solution. Soaked Rockwool cubes for over an hour. I let the Rockwool get too soggy after a few days. They need to stay damp, not soggy. A couple got stunted because of this. One is not doing so well.
The two in the middle are doing well. The three others got stunted from the Rockwool being too wet and me messing with them too much. Now that theyre in the clay pebbles, the roots are breaking through the rockwool and they are slowly recovering. One has been moved to soil because I thought it was gonna die. Just moved to soil to see if itll grow. They are all placed in 5 inch net pots, which are all sitting in holes atop a 17 gallon rubbermaid reservoir. My system is a combination of Aeroponics and Top Drip Feed. The 17 gallon reservoir is filled about halfway, and there is a submersible pump pumping nutrient solution up through the manifold, which then goes to the lines and then to the drip rings. The nutrient solution trickles down and is recirculated. The roots will hang free. Right now I have it on a timer of 30 minutes on, 2 hours off. When the roots get a little bigger, thatll go to 30 minutes on, 1 hour off, then eventually 30 on, 30 off. The nutrient solution is aerated with bubble stones. I cant remember the exact amount of pH up or down I used, but I listed it anyways.
The temps in my area are a little hot right now, so its staying 80 degrees in my grow area. Which is why I have the light at 32 inches. The humidity is extremely high outside, which is also bringing the humidity up in my grow area. Im going to get a tent and duct fan soon to take care of this.
Beginning of Week 2. Upped the nutrients to 4mL/gal from 2mL/gal. They are loving the Blue Planet nutes. The Blue max line is easy peasy. I lowered light to get better penetration/par. The one in the back right corner is Bluestarseedco Pearly Baker. Also have 2 Glazed Berries. Will do a separate diary on them.
Note to self. Let Rockwool dry completely before transferring to clay pebbles.
A few plants started drooping this morning from Rockwool still being too wet and too much humidity. I removed them from grow room and blasted them with a fan all night and this morning. That worked. They're perked up now. Reservoir completely cleaned. Water filtered and reused. Base nute strength doubled.
Now it's just a matter of watching them grow.
These are Autoflower Reg seeds. Pretty sure two in the middle are female. The back left I think will be female. They're all bushy. The front left and right are struggling.
Monday, week 2. The 2 in the middle are like "FEED ME MORE!!" They are starting to boom and absolutely no nute burn with this Blue Planet line so far. Just following the directions.
Dear mother of God they exploded in growth in one week and I don't expect it to stop. Except now they're gonna start growing fatter and not taller. It's still really early in their lifecycle. I'm hoping to have some fat nugs at the end (fingers crossed). The roots are absolutely ridiculous. So ridiculous I can't get the plants out now. I have no choice but to lift the lid and scoop the solution out to change it. I gotta redesign it next round.
They're starting to smell a little bit skunky up close. Far away you can start to smell a "plant" odor.
They have a tiny bit of yellowing. However this strain changes purple, red, yellow, and different green hues so I'm not gonna stress about that. Pretty sure they're getting all the nutes they need. And I know they got too much N from the clawing. I gave them straight water for 24 hrs.
Middle one got light burn. But I really don't have any more room to move the light up. Hopefully it'll recover. The two on the side are starting to swell up. Upped nutrients to almost Max feed level.
I haven't done any cropping whatsoever. The aeroponic System and the blue Planet nutes really made these girls boom all on their own.
The side shoots met up with the main shoot with no training. They each have multiple budding sites all over the place.
Got 3 different phenos going on. Left one is developing thicker, frostier, short, compact colas. Mostly green bud, some yellows, some tips of leaves are purple. Smells like Lemon Pine Bubblegum.
Middle one is Slightly taller, more sativa, still has dense buds, but smaller, and noticably purple hues within the bud itself. Def got the whole Afghani Star shaped cola going on from top view. Leaves are bright yellow with tips turning purple. Smells like Berry Pine Bubblegum.
Right one is the tallest. The most green. The most traditional sativa looking of the 3. Buds are slightly larger than the middle but smaller than the left. Retained more green leaves but some are turning purple. Smells like Skunk Pine.
Started creating a tea with Rhizo Magic, and a quarter tsp of molasses and a quarter tsp of honey. I shake it up in a jar and add it to the growing medium every 2 days.
They are almost done. Two weeks Max. May do a staggered harvest. Starting flush. Will still get a little bloom booster + molasses + honey. Mostly water though. Molasses and honey will only be foliar fed or in substrate.
Almost done. Trichs are cloudy . Spotted a few amber. Waiting till 50/50 cloudy/amber heads.
Getting only pH adjusted water.
Really putting out the purple and red hues.
Only harvested 1 of 3 plants. Trichs were 25% amber on the one plant. So went ahead and harvested it. This strain was very easy to grow, she's a tiny bit picky but she powers through. Go easy on nitrogen as she starts to flower. She EATS potassium. Excess potassium doesn't affect her at all. Starts to purple heavily week 8 ish. Next time I'ma try to push her to 10 or 11 weeks. May have started flush a week or two too early. She doesn't reek throughout the house but when you get up close she puts out a ridiculous multitude of aromas... From berry to lemon to pine to skunk. Heavy trich producer in the end. Will DEFINITELY grow again. Will try to cross with either Smoothie or Blueberry.
Update 10/04. Second plant harvested.
