harvest the blue gelato 41 yesterday at 63 days of flower.
my house smelled like someone lit a tire on fire, this stuff is insanely rubbery.
now drying at 60 % humidity and 18 degrees celcius, might put them in the bags after day 4 cause that really helped me stretch out the dry last harvest and did increase overall quality.
Blu gelato 41 ottima genetica la coltivo per la seconda volta. Ho amato il gusto e effetto buona fortuna e felice crescita (p.s il pH cerca di stare vicino al 6 )๐ค ๐
Awesome, chop day! Define bags to extend dry time ? Did u end up chopping branches off to then place in bags and how do u position the bags. Assuming the bag you leave slightly opened to air. Just curious, I may need to try something to help this winter harvest as my dry room can be perfect conditions yet it may dry faster than in summer months due to outside conditions being dry. Somehow, someway that effects the dry time even though my room stays absolutely steady 60% humidity and in the 60s Fahrenheit. Anyway, if you can elaborate a bit you may help my squeeze the most out of this winter batch. Appreciate it ๐๐ค
@igrowtomatoes,sweet dude appreciate the info I'll check that link out. It's very possible that maybe the size, stature of some buds per strain may have possibly been a factor I didn't consider enough. With more experience and time, maybe 1 day I'll have this stuff down pretty solid. Haven't really had any issues with smell/flavor so maybe I'm fine but I figure every area of the grow has room for improvement especially being a rookie still. I have lots to continue it learn. Thanks again for the time, appreciate it alot.
@exclusiveX420, thanks. i think if you can achieve 60 steady and 60f,you already won and dont need this method ,but my buds are always on the smaller side and tend to dry real fast.
this method is for desperate people like me who have tried everything else to get that long slow dry .
www.youtube.com/watch
i followed this video basically.
dried for a few days hanging, then put in bags rolled up with clothes pin and hanging, this extended my dry by a few days, and then i put the rolled up paper bag in a garbage bag rolled up, this extended it even longer and it started the cure cause that shit smelled strong in a good way.
apparently its an old school method, but there are people who say it makes you weeed smell paper baggy. i never got that, but i think thats probably from putting weed too wet in the
also you would think you would get mold, but i didnt, the bag seems to wick the moisture while at the same time maintaining enough.
This this looks so good but I'm sad to hear the report. Do you have another strain plant that had a Hermie or another blue gelato 41? The seeds will produce traits from either parent. They will also carry the Hermie gene unfortunately. Not worth keeping. Good luck finishing out hopefully not many seeds. Either way the bud will still be fantastic, just let it finish as normal. Pick em out and smoke it. ๐
@igrowtomatoes,hell ya if u can keep an eye on th buds during flower you can probably pick the nanners off before they pop and never have seeds! So def possible. Worth a shot if u can isolate somewhere for the hell of it.
@exclusiveX420, ya i figured theyd carry that hermie trait ,sad cause i really wanted to true a blue alien 41 bud ,i might grow some of the seeds out in summer outdoor somewhere isolated just to see if i get a good female for smoking.
The buds will be most likely hermies, but you could have luck and they turn out well! I had several seeds in my Grinspoon and I planted one and it turned out exactly like the feminised seeds. although itโs a different thing with landraces and their genetic diversity, but try it out!
@Cyrusdavirus, i agree, but i should of done it sooner in flower.
my second grow i took leaves off around week 7 and i got mold every spot i took a leaf off and it spread everywhere. my humidity was around 50 but i believe the humidity in the bud where the leaf was cut is much greater. dead plant material can cause botrytis in non ideal conditions. so im afraid to do that now this late in flower.
i put strings pulling stems apart i should be okay.
