Depending on your location it’s a bit late to be starting an outdoor auto. Not that you can’t- it’s just the more sun they get, the more they thrive. Here in New England I wouldn’t have time to harvest before the first frost. Keep them in the sunniest place you can find, and try to keep the buds dry once they start to form. The bud rot has been rampant this year because of the humidity. Best of luck- 🌱

This is the second time BostonGirl has said what I was getting ready to type. I hope you are in the southern hemisphere or at least the tropics. Auto's need long periods of light for maximum production, like 16-18 hours per day. In the northern hemisphere we are already well past the longest days and they days are getting shorter quickly. So, during flower when the plants really need maximum sun they will be getting less intense sun, for a shorter and shorter amount of time each day. In the future I would germinate your auto seeds about 8 weeks before the summer solstice (longest day of the year). This will allow the plants to be fully into flower during the longest daylight of the year. You can also use supplemental lighting but that could be difficult outside and could attract attention if you live in a non-legal country/state.

Would anyone recommend topping a outdoor autoflower? If so, when?

No way.. there’s no point in doing it outdoor. You could argue it for indoor, but that’s with limited PAR from your light and needing an even canopy. Outdoor in proper sunlight - there’s no argument you could make for topping it.

NO. I never top autoflower. I use low stress training to spread the branches out so all the bud sites get good light and airflow.

No. Autos have a predetermined life cycle which does not offer enough time to bounce back. I prefer to do some light LST- it really allows side branches to grow more and eventually provides more bud sites for you. I’ve seen topping on autos do really good indoors in coco or hydro. But it only hurts your yield in soil 🌱

I start them outdoors in the shade in a safe spot. Just have to watch out for animals that will eat it!

It’s all a matter of preference. The plant just wants light. It’s more about what works for you. I like to start indoors- make sure it germinated and give it a chance to get some roots in the soil. Then out she goes. Boston can be a windy rainy place at times- I just like to give her to have a better chance. 🌱

To me it looks like she is short on nitrogen, so maybe buy some nutes for that, or if u also grow organic u could ferment some stinging nettles in rainwater and then put that with 10 times the amount of water and introduce that in your waterscheme 1 every 3 times. Also usable as foliar spray but then i would recommend 1liter nettles tea on 20 to 30 liters of water.

Looks like a nutrient deficiency and could be a few of them. Given that this is their first week of nutrients. Could be Mg. would recommend continuing nutrients regularly and also using Cal Mag.

It looks like herbicide damage to me. I’m not an expert though, so I would wait for someone to confirm or refute.

Good luck on your grow, as a first time grower I would suggest doing lots of research. Especially about water such as total dissolved solids, electrical conductivity and also Ph. Something I struggled with greatly was PH swing in my reservoir. HAPPY GROW FRIEND! Stay Frosty!
