No clue how old this Pineapple Express is. I started it at the end of a previous grow and wasn’t tracking it at all. The first 3 weeks or so it was growing in a flower tent so it was only getting 12 hours of light. It has since been thriving for the last 4-5 weeks under 18 hours so I’m gonna keep experimenting and try a scrog for the first time.
Topped and began Scrogging by lowering the net to 10 inches off the pot. I’ve decided to just keep experimenting with this plant because of how resilient it is. I want to learn other growing techniques so why not learn first hand.
So I watered it about a week ago and it’s been droopy every since. I’m not too sure why because I didn’t do anything different. It seems to still be growing but definitely slower than before. I also found a dated photo on my phone of when it popped out of the soil which was July 13. If anyone has any idea what I could have done wrong I’d greatly appreciate your input.
I also FIM’d a while ago and now I’ve got like 5 new shoots coming out of the top. Neat stuff.
So I think I was just under feeding this one since I hadn’t changed my feeding schedule for about 6 weeks. Yesterday I increased the dosage by about 50% and the droopiness has started to go away and the newer growth doesn’t look as pale. I’ll keep this in mind going forward since I had this same issue with my last grow and thought I was having lockout.
I think I’m under feeding the Pineapple Express because each time I increase the nutrient dosage the plant stops dropping for a few days. I’m currently feeding about 700ppm so I’m wondering if I still have room to keep increasing it?
I was definitely under feeding. Every time I give the plant nutrients it looks really happy, and every time I gave just plain water it looked sad. The light green is also a a sign of nitrogen deficiency which would explain the stunted growth and droopiness.
I’m happy to show that I’ve resolved the deficiencies from last week. I was definitely under feeding the plant. I was using a feed schedule for untopped 4 week vegged plants when this plant was FIM’d, scrogged and vegged for 60 days. I gradually increased my feeds over 2 weeks and seems to be thriving again, and all deficiencies stopped.
It seems to have stunted the flower period a bit but hopefully with an extra week or 2 I can still get a big harvest.
Started to show some nice colours throughout the last 2 weeks. The smell gets stronger and stronger everyday and the buds are really frosty now. Few more weeks to go!
Day 50 of flower! Starting to pull back on the feedings a little bit since I’m about 10-14 days from chopping. The colours on this plant are beautiful. I was not expecting a purple Pineapple Express at all since all the photos I see of it online are green. The smell coming from the tent is the dankest smell I’ve ever smelled.
Should be a breeze from here on out.
Officially 8 weeks of flower time but I’m going to let this one ride a little longer because I don’t see any amber trichomes. Currently giving it ripening level of nutrients for the last week before I just start flushing it.
I ended up taking a few clones at the start of 12/12 just encase I liked this flower and by the looks of it I’ll be glad I did. This plant smells so good I could eat it. I’ll probably make a second grow diary with my clones to see if I get different results with the same genetics.
Day 64 of 12/12, over 9 weeks. I started flushing 4 days ago so I think I’m going to chop it within the next 48 hours. This has been my favourite grow so far with by far the best result. I’ll be continuing this journal with the clones I’ve got from this mother once I have room to in the tent for them.
Harvested 55g dried after about 5 days of drying. It’s been curing for about a week now so I’ve had a chance to try it. It’s obviously still a little harsh and doesn’t taste optimal since I’ve barely started curing, but it does burn well and really packs a punch. I don’t know the true THC % but I’ve got a pretty high tolerance and this stuff keeps up with dispensary weed I’ve got from before I started growing. I’d say it’s close to 20%.
Got 2 more clones of this strain growing so I’m hoping for an even bigger harvest from those. I want more of this stuff lol.
