18 hours in a glass of water -> seed cracked-> placed in a paper towel at warmth and darkness -> after 1 day the root is same length as the seed -> inserted into peat pellet.
-> Sprout emerges 3 days after the seed was started, marking the first day of this plants life
-> 2 days later the cotyledons open, plant is straight and first serrated leaves appear, so I transplant the pellet into a calmag buffered coco+perlite mix in a 500ml pot and start a super light first feed
I'm using a small heating pad to add just a little bit of warmth in these first crucial weeks. Also a clear plastic cup was placed over the plant to keep the humidity high until I add the humidifier.
The light I'm using these first few weeks is a DIY LED lamp, using two 8w (16w total) led bulbs at 6300k color temp. The cooler light and low power draw are perfect for the seedling stage and also saves my bigger light for the veg and flower time.
Yeah.... I think she mutated on me or something. Idk... seems like she topped herself. I see a new bigger top on the right and a smaller, just emerging one in the left.
I also thought that maybe I stunted her... but with a solution of just 0.5 EC... highly unlikely. But just in case, I switched to just low EC water(0.09), PH calibrated.
I'll give her another week, just to see what those tops do.
So a few days have passed since I noticed that the plant kinda topped herself by mutating and hardening its top. 4 days later the side branches are growing on full power, so I thought I should properly top it because it was interfering with the new smaller emerging leaves.
I also reintroduced nutrition, very light (0.4 EC) and will keep it like this until I see full 3 point leaves.
Nothing much going on right now, the plant just grows steadily. I think I should increase the nutrients soon, because the leaves are a bit light green. But I am proceeding with caution, cuz every time I was in this stage I over fed and the leaves became crumbly and dark green.
So the girl just started showing some pubes and I immediately transplanted her into the final pot, kinda small for flowering but can't really complain considering she had the auto-topping issue at the beginning.
Continued with some LST to keep the undergrowth exposed.
Changed the light to my Geeklight 120w quantumboard.
I hope she will stretch a lot during the first weeks of flower.
Later edit: She seems to grow quite rigurously, big leaves, tops starting to apprear.
I added in my 3d printed hydro halo and from now on she will be fed automatically 3 times/24 hours.
The plant is stretching and branching quite nice. Very bushy girl. Had to defoliate a bit during the flowering stretch as the huge leaves were blocking the tops.
I reckon I'll be defoliating a lot on this girl in the coming weeks.
I'm giving her 80% of the recommended dosage from Plagron. She seems to like it that way. I want to minimize the yellow tips as much as possible.
Big week for my girl!! Starting to grow into a woman so I dressed her up appropriately. Seems extreme but she'll recover in no time into a big square of green! <3
A mix of defoliation, lst and also some supercropping.
I noticed that the top branches have signs of light burn, I bent them down and raised the light as much as I could considering my limited space.
And finally started with the magic juice that is Green Sensation! :D
The results from the training started to show! The plant stretched from corner to corner filling up the entire grow space.
The light burn continued to show up on the past several days. It is clear to me now that if the plant gets too much light and the feeding is not adjusted for this, you will get lightburn. I should've feed a stronger nutrient solution and more CalMag.
Plants under white leds like the Samsung LM301H tend to need more nutrients, but especially Calcium.
The next feeding will be stronger and full of CalMag.
Nothing much going on. The plant has developed lots of bud sites and now the boring part starts.
The main stem of the plant is as thick as both of my thumbs :D
The buds are starting to get chubby. An overflowing supply of trichomes can be seen. THEY LOOK JUICY!
I did a major defoliation probably for the last time in this plants life, just to clean the spaces between the buds for more light pen.
So the buds got fat as fuck... I had to 3d print some small hooks and tie them with fishing line. Works a treat. I hate scrog nets.
FAT AS FUCK!
ICED AS FUCK!
So we're getting really close to yelling Timber! The buds have fatten up considerably, very few white hairs are spawning, the colors of the buds are quite vivid and the trichomes are getting really cloudy.
I've stopped the heavy feeding, only adding some enzymes to break up the remaining salts and some Sugar Royal for added taste and smell.
I reckon next week she'll be done.
I'm just waiting for the very first amber trichomes to pop!
Oh what a dream to grow! Some mistakes made by me, but even so, she was committed to succeed. Amazing plant, so robust, so strong, so plump.
The buds are so sticky and greasy and so full of ice, it's incredible. A pure joy to grow. And the harvest is to be plentiful!
So the final day has come. Day 115. Wow she took 4 months!
I struggled a little bit with cutting her, I had to do it with a handsaw. She is a chunky girl!
I partially trimmed the plant, mostly removing any fan leaf left and any big leaf without trichomes on them. I consider this more of a pre-cleaning and not a real trimming. That will be done after the plant has dried in about 2 weeks
It was quite nice to document my grow. This was my 3rd one ever. I will continue with the grows and journaling because it really makes things sound clearer in my head.
As the water evaporates from the nutrient mix, even low EC can turn hazardous for the plant, especially if it doesn't have time to absorb any of the salts in said mix. Lets say you have one drop of water on top of the plant @0,5EC, and as that drop evaporates you will end up with 1EC when half the drop is left, 2EC when half of that half is left, 4EC etc...
Just aim for the soil when you water, and let the soil dry up some before adding more water. GL with the grow! 👊😁
@MalumProhibitum, oh, I see what you mean now. Yeah they kinda look like that, but I watered with a pipette so I had total control over the waterflow. I think she just decided to be "special" on her own. XD
@TrippyTerps, Yeah, coco is very forgiving and likes being watered😁 I was just referring to the leaves looking like someone had poured acid on em, looks like burns that can be caused by nutrients being left on leaves etc. Still overall healthy green colours, so the plant will quickly recover and grow big and stronk! 👊😀
What a wonderful garden, you rock this tent 😍
