Hello GD community! It's time for some DELICIOUS EXPERIMENTATION 🔬 Second year as grower and first time with this strain. 🙋‍♂️For those that don't know me, I'm a 100% OUTDOOR grower from Italy, great supporter of efficient and simple things; I love experimenting and always learning for my errors and this what I do also when growing 💪 💡 Pretty sad that at the end of the summer you have to wait for the next spring/summer before starting a new grow, right? 💡 What if we could grow OUTDOOR in a wider time window? Maybe only skipping winter 👀 This question doesn't come from the "need more smoke" but from my pure LOVE and satisfaction in watching growing and experimenting with these plants. So 👉 I purchased a small greenhouse for the late flowering of my Royal Cheese photoperiodic [see pic], and since, as you can see, there is some remaining space, I was thinking... 💡 Why shouldn't I try to grow some Autos from zero even though summer has gone? ⚙️ The GREENHOUSE is fully passive. The SUN will be my only source of heat and light, nothing artificial and 0 watts consumption 🌞 I've read I can use big masses of stored water to help giving some heat in the night, so, again, it will be fun experimenting. If you have any experience with these, please let me know something in the comment, it will be helpful. 🌱 As first candidate we have a "Northern Light Automatic" by Royal Queen Seeds [ @James ]. This is their typical "promo seed" and we will see together "her" thoughts about lower temps 😅 (Yes, first, this means that this won't be the only one 🙊 ) I will update the diary once a week and in particular the first day of each week. "Day 0" will be assigned when the first leaves will come out from the soil. #OUTDOORGANG #PRAISE_THE_SUN - DD

[First time on this diary? => Read "GERMINATION" tab to understand what I'm doing ] 04/09/2021 - Day 0 - First day of the 1st week. The journey begins. Baby alive! 😍 She took almost a entire a week to germinate in the paper towel! And also with a very very small root, and 3 days to come out from the soil. Definitely more time than what I'm used to but we'll see. I'm sooo curious about the outcome of this experiment! Stay tuned 💪 Wish me good luck and let's hope in sunny mild days 🤞☀️ - DD

[First time on this diary? => Read "GERMINATION" tab to understand what I'm doing ] 11/09/2021 - Day 7 - First day of the 2nd week. First week has gone. She overgrew with the stem and had to cover it with some more soil to let it remain vertical. She spent the first 7 days indoor near a window, moving her outside for the first time right today. I'll move her to the greenhouse only if weather gets too cold or in case of rain. Wish me good luck and let's hope in sunny mild days 🤞☀️ - DD

[First time on this diary? => Read "GERMINATION" tab to understand what I'm doing ] 19/09/2021 - Day 15 - Second day of the 3rd week. Second week has gone. Pics from the greenhouse since she spent there the last few days because of the rain. Also temperatures dropped so I think she will be good in there. Pretty satisfied by her development given the only 14 days of life, what do you think? Wish me good luck and let's hope in sunny mild days 🤞☀️ - DD

I'm so proud of the development of this lady 😍 She seems not suffering the temperatures drop and she seems liking the greenhouse collocation Giving her tap water only. Very curious to see what she can do in the last (theoretically) week of veg ! Wish me good luck and let's hope in sunny mild days 🤞☀️ - DD

[First time on this diary? => Read "GERMINATION" tab to understand what I'm doing ] 02/10/2021 - Day 28 - First day of the 5th week. I'm so proud of the development of this lady 😍 She did good job this last week, love her. Also first signs of preflower are here, very good. Today also changes to DEMETRA. Yes, this is how I decided to call my sweet and tiny greenhouse. [Olympian goddess of the harvest and agriculture --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demeter ] I have acquired an engine oil barrel (102 liters) cleaned it a little and filled it with water. => THERMAL MASS! Also used a paper box + paper packaging to insulate a little from the ground, let's see if these changes will bring the improvements I hope to the weather in the greenhouse. 🤞 Comments? Please let me know your thoughts. Wish me good luck and let's hope in sunny mild days 🤞☀️ - DD

[First time on this diary? => Read "GERMINATION" tab to understand what I'm doing ] 23/10/2021 - Day 49 - First day of the 8th week. She's beautiful. Proceeded with some defoliation to let more light reach the bud sites. Also created some of these wooden mini logs for some LST. The plan was to not do any LST, but I think using some of these to give some space between the side branches is worth. Wish me good luck and let's hope in sunny mild days 🤞☀️ - DD

Not the best candidate for this experiment. Airy buds but it was obvious in the hard conditions she had to face. Suffered WPM a lot! Completely covered of this white dust. But smell... smell is INSANE, very particular. balsamic, like pines, never found anything similar, wow!

07/01/2022 One month after the harvest we are finally closing also this chapter. Because of the completely passive drying and the fact that we are/were in December, it took a while, but here we are! Very impressive veg phase, also thanks to more or less mild temperatures of the first weeks, she grew a lot and I had very good expectations. Suffered WPM and mold a lot during flowering with the temperatures worsening. Airy buds but given the low amount of light it was expected. Smell is so particular, a pleasure for the nose, balsamic, reminds me of a forest, idk. Very curious about the taste 😋 I would say that germinating 3/4 weeks earlier could bring to great results, I'll keep in mind for next season. See you all next spring. 🌺 Peace. - DD 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 🇮🇹

If you can keep the overnight lows above 10 C you’ll likely do okay even with this late start. The sunlight isn’t as strong so it won’t do great but it will do something. Good luck.

@RegadorDeCactus, no artificial light, it was early autumn, and 14hrs was just the time between sunrise and sunset, so generic light, no direct sunlight
