Hi Guys. Just started to document Week 6. Only fed Cal Mg water only and BioWeed/BioThrive Grow. Man these mofo came back in style. I think they look healthy. I think the temp also made a difference. Because I was not in the house, the temp was able to go up to 32 C. NEED HELP TO FIGURE OUT SEX. Male or Female please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Photos were taken with my iPad. I am going to dig up my SLR and take some macro photos and post them later for clarification. 👌 Okay Just added close up for plat nodes. Also going to trim, train and pull some clones from plant 3 since I think it is a female. Will show before and after photos. A lot going this week. I am still working on my narrative style so please stick with me and please leave me comments as to what you guys like or what you guys dislike. I am going to state a few observations and steps taken to address problems. Observations: 1. Since all the plants were in the same grow area under the 440 CLW LED. They were all Dwarfed and the nodes are basically less than an inch apart. and a lot of branching occurring. 2. One of the three gallon's leaves are yellowing and have random brown/rust spots on the front side of the leaf. Although I have been feeding the exact same Nutrients to all plants, I found out that plant 1 have significantly less soil, probably 20% less then plant 4, which are both in 3 gallon pots. So I assume that is the reason why all other plants did not show the same symptoms. Highlights of what went on: 1. Separated the 2 five gallons and 2 three gallons. Five Gallons are moved to 4x4 tent with the same CLW 440 LED and the canopy is at least another foot and a half away from the light. So hopefully it will start to stretch a bit. The 2 three gallon was moved to a similar growing space but with a Veg 300W LED and the canopy is now 6 inches further away from a much less powerful light. Will try to keep the 3 gallons for another week or two because I kind of want to slow down their growth so I can stagier the flowering. 2. For the yellowing leaves and random rust spot I am treating it as a major deficiency and I used a 440ppm RO water with Cal Magic to see if that will help. 3. Trimmed plants 2 and 3 and used only fluorescent light for fours days with 24 hr cycle. Will go back to the LED light starting today. 4. Trained plant 2 and 3 and starting to use a trellis. 5. Added photos of major equipment. Just wanted to show what equipment I am using cause I think sharing uses of equipment is also good for us newbies.

Hi all been away for two weeks and I guess the plants have been working hard and growing pretty hard. Am going to do some last min. Training and will flip the switch on two plants and leave the other two to veg some more. Since this is my first grow I'll need all the help I can get so please leave your comments. I am just worried that not all plants are female so please let me know other wise and if u need me to take more photos. I will take better photos of the plants individually and transplant the other 2 3l to 5 l pots. So long for now and I have a lot to do this week. So just to give this post a bit more light. I left for two weeks and I came back and two of my plants went into flowering with me flipping the switch. I don't know if the person taking care of the plants did anything. But got any advice? I am thinking of separating the two flowering plants and go into 36 hour dark and then A 12/12 cycle. And I am going to monitor the other two and hopefully they will switch when I flip the switch. DEALING WITH GNATS- hi guys since I repotted two of my plants I am going to add azamax both leaching in spraying so I can get rid of the fungus gnats. This is an important and I think a crucial step that beginners should do if you use potting soil specially. I mean you can do it before you see any adults flies but i usually do it when I see a few Flies. I repeat the spray twice and then after a week, I never see them come back.

Since I was away for almost three weeks. The auto flower seed that I assume was not flowering probably did flower. I actually looked online as well as growers on this site who had my exact strain. I found that my two gilrls, Flower 1 and Flower 2, looked more like the beginning of the third week of flowering. So I am changing the diary to reflect that and will make the other non flowering plants to become mothers.

Again this is a test grow so I am trying different things so I can learn as much as I can. I guess my question is, are they ready? I am not eager to get the final product, but I need to go away for three weeks and my friend can only come when he is around. So the ladies will be unattended for 5 full days... I am think of repotting the mothers so they retain more water. But for the F1 and F2 should I chop one of them down first? Or you guys think 5 days unattended would be okay for late bloom plants? thanks guys

*Found my SLR and installed an edit program, so hopefully I can step it up a notch and provide R rated photos of ladies rather then PG13. Enjoy. And please let me know if anyone wants me to blowup any photos. Nanas!!! Found some nanas on most of my tops of the two flowering plants. Man these plants are sensitive!!!! I mean I am using feminized seeds and know the risks. So this is what happened. I was trying to change the covers of my power stripe red lights and I accidentally unhook the timer to my light. So I had a 18 hour dark period. And when I hook the light back on I see these bright green buds on the tops of most of the bigger collas. I freaked out and did a lot of research and found that they are nannas. So this is my dilemma. I just started flushing today and was not planning to harvest today. Anyone can chime in and give me some advice? I don't have any pics yet will get them tomorrow. So I either chop them up now and have a batch of half finished crop and risk the chance of nannas spreading or wait for another 2 weeks to finish the plant and hope nothing happens to the other plants. This is my first grow so I would love to hear from you guys out there. Thanks. Nanna UPDATE: Okay so it was false alarm on my part. I took some photos with my digital SLR and under careful study of hi res photos I found that it was new bud sites (Poor plant I chopped off 5 of the tops cause I thought they were nannas.) This is my first grow so I didn't know any better. Maybe it is the CO2 that I added 3 days ago. But new bud sites are springing up everywhere, especially on the plant that was a bit behind (the smaller plant with bigger collas) I didn't know new buds can spring out this late into flowering. So hopefully I didn't do too much damage here. But Since I flushed the plant with FloraKleen, I will stop watering for 4 days and give these ladies there last batch of nutrients and go into final flushing after that.

Hi all, I think I am going down the home stretch now. On 3rd down and 10. Just need to drive thru this and it should be ready for harvest in one or two weeks for F1 and maybe another three to Four weeks for F2. For ppl who are just starting to follow this. This grow is brought to you by Bman from California... Both F1 and F2 are grown from seeds of Regular White Widow from Seedsman. F1 was transplanted to a 5 gallon early in the game (Week 4). Whereas F2 was transplanted 2 weeks into flower in week 9. Since this was my first grow and somehow two of my four plants went into flowering when I was gone and didn't know they have already flowered for that long. But I think it turned out okay. F1 is taller and has 10+ collas (smaller collas. F2 has around 5 collas and they are much larger. I think F2 is probably 2 weeks behind F1. UPDATE: I am going to take this chance to do more experiments. I've trimmed F1 of all fan leaves and see what that is going to do to the finishing process. Will start taking photos of 5-10 collas from the same angle and same scale and show how they change in the last four weeks before harvest. I know that is going to help me for sure, being a first time grower and all, but hopefully that will help other first timers as well. So stay Tune, will include those photos next week. I know my grow is taking a lot longer than usual, but this is for my personal medical use and I have no reason nor need to finish this batch in a rush... Watering update: 5/21 today the weather in cali will be in the high 80's so I might have to turn on the a/c so the ladies won't get a heat stroke. F1 is strictly on PHed water. And I have been starving F2 of water and nutrients for the past four days. To make sure she is nice and dry before I give her a full serving of nutrients one last time. Starting next week, F2 will get a flora Kleen blast and will be on PHed water the rest of the time. I won't mess with the molasses this time around. But hopefully the final medicine will be of good quality. I am really looking for a heavy CBD based crop, so will definitely try to hold them until tricomes are 80% brown. But will cut out one colla every 5 days when half the tricolmes are milky and brown. Just to see how this particular strain will behave if harvested at different times so I can do a better job next time.

Week 16 Boyz and Girlz... Final Stretch for my Second Plant F2. Stigmas (the white tentacle looking things) are turning from white to Orange. I fed the plant its last dose of Nutrients 7 days ago, starved it until today (Maybe a bit too long, if I were to do it again I would monitor the dryness of the soil and starve it so the soil is almost bone dry for 2 days.) gave it some Phed Water and also some 260 PPM 6.8PH Unsulphured Molasses. (MAKE SURE IT IS UNSULPHURED GUYS) Because if it is Sulphured it would actually do the exact opposite and KILL the Macrobes in your soil. Don't know what it will do, but I cut two branches full of buds from F1 two weeks ago and they weren't fed any molasses at all. Will share my findings in a few weeks after they are dried, curing and tested. 5/30/2017 Flushed today with RO Water and FloraKleen today. Exiting PPM is down to 260. compared to 660 before the flush. *IMPORTANT TAKEAWAYS MOLASSES - Make sure it is Unsulphured. Good for soil since it feeds the microbes in soil thus feed your plant General info on harvesting - three things to look at to determine harvest time Bracts, Stigma and Resin Glands 1. BRACTS - the pouch with initially white Stigmas (tentacle) coming out of. "They should be swollen except for the ones at the top of the bud, which should start to swell but not fully swollen" - p.104 Cannabis Encyclopedia by JC 2. STIGMA - 90% of them should have turned from initially white to orange/brown. 3. RESIN - The best time to harvest is when the resin glands develop a spherical head but have not yet turned amber (called senescing) Once the glands starts to senesce, the degrading of cannabinoids starts. - p.106 Cannabis Encyclopedia by JC

I am a first time grower and have made a lot of mistakes over the course of the 15 weeks, but Cannabis in general and White Widow specifically is very forgiving and the harvest is a lot more than I expected. A must for first time growers. Also a big up to the people from Seedsman, they are great people. Tons of free stuff especially if you buy with bit coins.

Thanks from the golden state of Cali...Special thanks to the Growboss. Couldn''t have done this 1st grow without his book, videos and call.F1 First batch 35g. Hi Guys, Week 17. I think F2 is almost ready for harvest. I got some deficiencies on some of the leaves. WIll Upload photos when its time for her to wake up. I am scared that it might be light leaks due to the new 6 in fan I added for air out flow cause to temp is too high for flowering. The problem is the ducting. I used some cheap ducting that came as a package from my Phresh carbon filter... BE SURE TO CHECK FOR LIGHT LEAKS ON DUCTING and not just the grow area and the appliance lights. Will add more later. 9th June update: F2 is ready to be taken down. WIll Flush today and let it dry out for two or three days then its harvest time. QUESTION: How to tell if nutrients are flushed. Leaf color/Deficiencies right before harvesting. For my two plants in this grow. F1 - Healthy dark green color leaves, which was bigger and taller due to the early transplant to larger pot Mid Veg. I flushed a few days before harvest and almost all the leaves were healthy looking and dark green. F2 - A lot of thin dried and yellowish brown leaves that look like a lot of different deficiencies, which was shorter but collas are much bigger. It is short because I didn't transplant until 2 weeks into flower. . About to flush and harvest this week but the leaves are all showing heavy deficiencies. Does that mean there are still a lot of stored nutrients in the plant?????? thanks for the help in advance. BM

Hey man! Almost there! 👍, if you calculate two weeks flush in soil should be enough, deficiencies will come and thats normal and in theory it shows they are consuming the nutes stored, just watch for the yellowing doesn't get to the buds, and rot/mold in general at this stage. I don't know if there is a way to tell 100% if there still nutes in the plant, but 2 weeks is the majority of growers go to...

@BreakingBud, The last thing you need is to be impatient. I mean you've already spent so much time on it. one thing though. Remember to take some notes and really spend some time research which finishing/ripening/curing process you are going to use. good luck. I am going to post my WW mother plant and WW clones diaries up in a few weeks. Check them out.

Is that 100 gram dry manicured bud ? Because I would guesstimate that more in the 40-60 gram range. I really think the Indica dominant White Widow pheno is the dominant one. Paradise seeds end their description of their original seeds with the line "Not for the faint hearted, Original White Widow (IBL) will deliver a dose of potency that can catch even the most experienced smoker by surprise. While this bud is half sativa it’s the pure power of the indica bite that takes hold of mind and body. ".

@goarilla, Thanks man. Am doing more testing of the same strain. I actually veged 4 plants and switched two to flower and kept veging the remaining two. They are more than 80cm tall now so don't know what that is going to do with the grow. So I am very excited. On top of that I made some clones from the long veg plants and am going to put them into flower the same time. So let's see what comes out of it. Please follow my diary if u are interested and if u have anything u want to test please let me know.

@goarilla, Actually I am up to 137g super dry now and still waiting for the last few branches to dry and trim. Will update the weight after trim. And this is only one of my two plants. I think the second plant, although shorter but the buds are still bulking up and I am guessing that it might weigh more than the taller one. Won't know for another week though.

I am by no means a pro, but still checked it out for ya, I like em wide and squatting rather than tall. Will u consider using lst or preferred all natural?
Bongman
Bongmancommented8 years ago
@HydroKitty, I used LST, simply because this is my first grow, not pressed on time and shooting for a larger yield than all natural and I believe LST is the next best thing. (week 3 comment) In hindsight, I actually lollipopped quite a bit so I think it took longer than normally would, but the trade offs were justified I think. 1. Wider canopy, 2. Better control on plant shape, 3. More margin of error (due to the multiple bud sites created) 4. Better yield. (week 16 comment)

QUESTION: ARE AMBER TRICHOMES INDUCED BY GROWERS OR THE STRAIN??? I think my first batch of ladies is ready to finish. Can anyone give me some comments? I know you look for milky or Amber Tri comes, bur my question is, Do you need to do something so they will turn from clear to milky to amber? Or the plant has some kind of biological clock that governs that? I know you have to flush and not give them any nutrients towards the last one or two weeks. But do they start turning amber when I stop the nutrients? And what triggers the yellowing and browning of leaves? Is that induced by us cutting the nutrients? I ask because I see some posts saying that you can control how clear or Amber the trichomes are and having a percentage of the two will give you a different high. I am sort of confused, thanks.
