Soaked for a day in a 3% H202/Water solution for 24 hours
Moved to paper towels misted with distilled water
Propagation dome set to 27c, 80-100% RH
2/2 seeds germinated Sept 11
Not a lot going on yet...I'm misting the plugs with distilled water a few times a day. Roots are starting to come out of the bottoms. This week I'm slowly acclimating the seedlings to lower humidity. The goal is to get it down to 60% RH. I'll start by opening the vents on the dome, and by end of week, remove the dome completely.
Update: 3rd set of leaves coming in.
Transplanted seedlings to 4" pots
Update: Humidity is lowered to around 65% now...dome is off during the day, on at night to keep the heat in. Started fertigating with Botanicare Pure Blend Tea...it's a supplement, but I'll use it until there's 3 sets of true leaves, or the end of week 2, whatever comes first.
Update: End of week one!
Seedlings are looking healthy and adapted nicely to the gradual decrease in humidity. Started the week around 90%, now at 60%.
They'll spend 10 days in the 4" pots before transplanting into 3 gallon fabric bags.
Lights are at 50% (half the T5 bulbs on) so I'll switch them all on tomorrow. By week 3 they should be ready for the MH bulbs.
To the next! 🍻
Both seedlings are nice and green and getting bigger every day. I've got a small fan blowing on them during the day and doming them up at night to trap in the heat and humidity. Will be starting a high frequency fertigation schedule in a few days. One event per day for the first week, then twice daily until transplant (week 3+).
EC target is 0.5
pH target is 5.8
Humidity target: 60-70%
Temperature target: 23-28c
Mixed nutrients and diluted to 0.5 EC
Watering with about 125ml, runoff of 20ml
Update: End of week 2! Feeling like the "hard part" is over now...the girls are showing new sets of leaves daily and starting to drink more. I'm going to leave them in the 4" pots under T5's for one more week to further establish the root system before transplanting into 5 gallon fabric pots. Fertigation is twice daily now...2 hours after lights on, 2 hours before lights off. Will be increasing EC by 0.1 bi-daily
To the next! 🍻
Start of week 3, give or take a day...increasing fertigation frequency and strength this week. Two events per day of 100 ml. Going from 0.5 EC up to 0.9 gradually so I'll have to mix a bit of feed and dilute as necessary. Everyone looks happy and growing daily!
Update: Plants are drinking more, up to 400ml a day (200 x 2) and strength is up to 0.8. Transplanting soon as roots are starting to make their way out the bottom.
Update: Last day of week 3. All plants into final containers. Should top soon and start training...Off we go!
To the next!! 🍻
Topped all plants but fucked up most of them. Three were topped to the 3rd node, while the rest were topped to the 4th. No big deal but I'll only be able to manifold 3/7. Also (stupidly) chopped the lower fan leaves without even thinking 😔. Will probably slow growth considerably but they'll live.
Trying to dial in how much water I need to get 10% run-off...since they're new containers it takes more to saturate (1.35L) but I think that will come down over time. Twice a day fertigation continues...last run-off measurement was 1.2 EC / 6.0 pH. That should also get closer to intake values as the days go on
To the next!! 🍻
Bouncing back from a stressful haircut...almost ready for another trim. Hoping to send them into bloom at the end of week 6, but will see how tall they get before flipping. Both plants have been topped twice.
To the next!! 🍻
Noticable growth of the stalk and main branches. Now that they're topped twice and staked down, it's only a week, maybe two before the switch. I'd like to keep them under 36" so may wait until they're about 14-16" tall before that happens.
Update: Responding well to topping and LST. Trunk and branches are getting thicker by the day. Debating on topping a 3rd time but I don't really want to add another two weeks of veg... probably be worth it though.
To the next!! 🍻
Will let these go for another week of veg before flipping. Don't think they stretch much so I want to get them a bit taller to take advantage of the training.
To the next!! 🍻
First day of 12/12! Will be continuing to tie and bend down taller branches as they stretch. Most branches are at, or close to, 5 nodes each so the lower fan leaves will be able to be removed soon. Added a dehumidifier to the room to keep RH around 55. Plenty of airflow going on with two floor fans and an oscillating fan on each end
Continuing to tie down taller branches for the week...#2 is a straight up beast. She's drinking a litre more than the rest of the gang. Stretched 6" last week.
Update: EC run-off was +0.5 over EC in so I've put some pH 6 water through it and refertilized at 1.7 EC. Run-off is now 1.2 bit pH has risen to 6.6. Bit of a problem. Need to drop pH by at least 0.3 this week
Ladies looking real good. Big, bushy plants with lots of bud sites, MMm! Still tying down big branches, defoliating from the bottom/middle to make more airflow throughout the canopy. Took cuttings from FM2 because it's a super vigorous plant and I don't have any seeds left. In case this one's a banger, I want to have it around.
To the next! 🍻
Getting into the stacking phase...stretch seems to have stopped completely. Taking a few leaves from the middle here and there and removed all the ties holding down branches. Might be some nutrient buildup so I plan to flush soon. It's mid bloom so I don't want any lockouts happening. Will add pics at end of week (Monday)
To the next!! 🍻
Flowers are stacking up and we're seeing trichomes everywhere. Smell is starting to ramp up too. EC and pH in the grow conditions section above are my run-off numbers. Ran out of Remo Bloom and the AstroFlower is almost empty as well, so I'm switching over to Advanced Nutrients A+B Bloom for the last few weeks of feeding (just to use it up). As much as I don't want to change fertilizers mid bloom, I keep running out of different bottles from the Remo line.
Flowers still stacking and the pistils are starting to change colour. Still 3 weeks left before I start flushing. Added Overdrive to the feed schedule for the next 2 weeks. Currently feeding at 1.0 EC / 6.0 pH, 3L twice daily, for a run-off of 1.6 EC / 6.0 pH
Looks like we're going at least the full 9 weeks. Buds are still swelling and there isn't a lot of colour yet. This is the last week of feeding and will start flushing at the start of next week.
Chopped Day 60F. Looks pretty leafy and a bit of a nightmare to trim but the flowers are chunky band dense. Hints of purple throughout the colas. Will update the pics and weights once dry and trimmed.
Smells of cookies and skunk primarily with a slight lemon on the back end. This is just flat out anytime smoke. Not weak, not overly strong. The purple pheno was stronger but less dense and yielded less. The pheno I cloned is currently in week 9 bloom and look MUCH different. Stronger purple colour, more trichomes and very, VERY chunky flowers.
Dried weights:
FM1 - 114.4 g
FM2 - 132.8 g
Happy with the yields, as they're similar to my last run, but with half the substrate (5 gal vs 10)
Tastes mostly skunky with a sweet exhale. Smells of cookies and skunk. Trimming was a pain, lots of leaf. French Macaron #1 went completely purple, but also hermed and filled the lower flowers with seeds. I chopped the other by accident a week early so it never got to reach its full potential. Luckily I kept a clone.
Dried weights:
FM1 - 114.4 g
FM2 - 132.8 g
