Young root don't like watery conditions I've found. I never now soak the media for young plants having killed a few by over watering. Roots go to mush. They prefer dry/wet conditions in quick succession. So enough water for a day in their little pot. Mine weigh 125g when dry, and I water them up to 150g. They're on a heat mat as well which evaporates the moisture from the media more quickly which also helps to not get root rot.

Hi there! For autoflowering strains, you can follow this schedule : https://www.alchimiaweb.com/images/xl/bio-bizz-bio-bloom_240_4_.jpg and for regular strains such as your WhiteWidow from RQS, you can follow this one : https://www.alchimiaweb.com/images/xl/bio-bizz-bio-bloom_240_2_.jpg. I always water with 20%-30% of my container capacity, this gives me almost no drain or a light drain and this will prevent from overwatering issues. Also, watering with low amount of water forces you to water slowly, which is a good thing for your soil. Finally, watering less but more often, creates great opportunities to check your plants and spend time with them :-) Hope this helps, happy growing!

Personally if you are going into the 7 gal pot I would soak the soil as Experementgreen has advised. But I wouldn’t keep watering with run off until the plant is at least 4 weeks of vegetive growth. The reason I suggest this is that.. a small plant in a big pot will not be able to use the water/oxygen, the water at the bottom of its pot will go stagnant If it takes a week for your pot to dry that’s too long IMO, you shouldn’t have to water your plant for any longer than 4 days at any stage of its growth (Unless in coco of course) You want to get them straight into the 7 gal pot. If you size the pot wrong and her roots develop too fast you can induce early flower. I’ve had a auto start flowering after 12 days. Good luck always here for suggestions✌️🏻
