honestly - i didn't think this one would survive, and if it did - it would be a dwarf plant.
Germination was fine no problems there but as it sprouted, the seed's hull stayed on cotyledon leaves.
I managed to get one leaf free after three days and then damaged the second leaf the next day.
It took several days to recover and as it was recovering the leaves coming out were very deformed.
The first topping went well and recovered quickly, leaves still deformed. The leaf structure really cleared up after the second topping.
It wasn't until she started looking all pretty and perfect- that I thought about making a dairy for this grow.
Here you can see the soil has been brought up a few centimeters to help with the training hooks. Trying to pay attention to detail and maintain a good mainline trunk structure.
Phenomenal growth rate. Base leaves getting larger. Great recovery from the third topping.
Tried out some training wire, so far I'm not impressed. But will keep trying. It's probably user error. 😀
Being really careful and mindful for the directions of the eight new tops. Trying to maintain that main trunk line.
Growth still amazes. Pruned the eight tops. Hooking them down for training.
I left the base leaves in play. They are a bit in the way but one can't argue with mother nature. Growth is Growth.
I played around with a grate as a training screen, but the plant was still too low to touch the grate.
( I have intentions on using this grate higher up ~ we'll see though )
Moving along nicely. No complaints. Lovin' the FoxFarm.
Towards the end of the week she was looking so good and healthy I set her free. Removed all hooks and training wires.
Future growth will be managed with one of those elastic stretchy grow screen thingies. 😎
Oh my! Once she got a taste of freedom, she started reaching for the stars.
Canopy is developing nicely. Did a little pruning here and there.
Found one top that did not split the mainline evenly and just branched off. So that's what's creating the low branch.
Otherwise - Oh My - I've created a cheesecake shrub 😝
Last days in veg mode, have begun the transition phase.
Light pruning. Exercising the branches, (giving them a daily wiggle).
I've spotted two branches that did not split the mainline. One side is twice as thick as the other. This in turn is making the canopy a little lopsided. I'll be putting up netting in the tent soon and I should be able to even out the canopy with that.
Last feeding with veg mode nutrients.
About the middle of this week I shut down the lights for 36 hours, then restarted the lighting schedule at 12/12. Will give her a week or so to transition into flower mode.
Transition Week - Veg to Flower
Minor pruning here and there. Established tent netting. Added an interior fan.
By the end of the week you could see a hair or two in places.
Noticing a nice grow spurt. She's definitely in flower mode now.
Everything is nuggy 😎 Little baby nuggies everywhere 😁
Nice growth spurt this week.
A little pruning here and there. About 95% is above the netting. A couple little taste tester branches still live under the netting.
Adjusted the nutrients for flower mode. Also started using the spray-on nutrient Flower's Kiss.
Every other day I give the canopy a good shower with the spray bottle.
Grow Baby Grow !!
Cruising along.
Fan leaves are dropping here and there. Under carriage is nearly bare.
Flowers are filling out and up. Kolas developing nicely.
Smell is getting stronger. Makes me smile every time I walk by 😁
This week was water only. Shifting to week 3 nutrients for flower mode.
Stalk is getting really thick. A few roots have climbed out of the soil. I just cover them up as best I can.
Overall she looks really healthy and growing at pace.
