Seeds were planted directly into soil without germination. First sprouted after 48hrs second is pushing soil so is expected to sprout very soon. After the first week they will be placed into a 4x4x6.5 tent with a 1000watt led light. Due to the strain being auto, i am going to not use any LST and leave her be. Breeder calls for a 49 day seed to harvest so this will be a quick grow to test out a new light and exhausts system before setting a full grow.
1 week after planting the 2 seeds they both have popped and are doing well. They are now under a 1000watt LED light running 24hrs at 24inches above the plant. I have not started using nutrients yet but in week 3 I will begin a "grow" solution for 2 weeks or until signs of pre-flower show then I will change over to a "flower" nute. All water is pH'd to 6.5 and comes from a natural spring.
Both plants are doing well. The new 1000watt LED is working great. Added nutes this week and the ladies seem to be taking to them really well. No signs of nute burn as of yet. Will keep the feeding solutions diluted to about 25% for the next couple of weeks.
Both plants are doing well. Minor calmag deficiencie mid veg but looks to be under control. Plant #1 is shorter then #2 but has a lot more branching and is very bushy. Plant #2 is about 26inches tall and has very strong side branching but seems to be all tops not very bushy at all. Both are producing a lot of calaxs and pistils. Going to up the strength of the bloom nutes as well as as some remo nature's candy in wk7.
These pics are actually from wk 7 ill take more soon at the end of week 8. Both are doing very well and the leaves are starting to lighten. Iv been letting it get cooler at night to bring out any red or purple in the strain and 1 leave is showing colour. The flush has begun and will continue with just water until the last weekend in August when I will be cutting them down.
This is the first day of week 9. Both plants are now in flush getting only pH'd water that i get from a natural spring near my house. The older smaller plant will be harvested at the end of week 10 or sooner. (Watching tricombs now) and the taller will get an extra week of flower. This plant sprouted about 4 days after the shorter plant.
Well we are onto the last week for these ladies. Plant 1 will be chopped on the 31st and the other on the 2nd. Plant 1 sprouted 4 days before the other so i want to give it a few extra days. Shorter (plant 1) is showing lots of red and purple hues in the sugar leaves. Plant 2 looks to be much more frosty then 1 but the buds arent as chunky. Both plants have very dense resinous buds. Cant wait to taste.
Last few days for these girls. The fade came in well, showing some beautiful purples. Both have been on the flush with just spring water for little over 2 weeks now. Cant wait to get into this stuff.
This was only my 2nd grow and I would 100% recommend this strain for beginners. Also my first auto so no LST was done would try it on my next crop of autos. Had 2 different phenos and was really interesting to see the difference in the way they grew. Nice purple colours came out during the fade was really cool to see. 5 outta 5 on my scale and ill be growing this strain again.
Overall this was an easy grow. Plant loved the nutes and the 24hr light cycle. I used all natural spring water and it provided a ppm of just over 100 so the plant ate up the added minerals. Ended up being just a few days over 3 months from the time i put the seed in the ground (not germinated) to the time i harvested.
Wow - This is massive for 6 weeks in.
I have a NL auto going, just started week 5 and she is only 5.5 in tall. I did do a lot of LSTing so if I undid it all she might be 7.5 in or 8 tops.
You did not post week 4/5 so hopefully im not stunted and mine will also be much taller in a week or two.
Mine journal is at growdiaries.com/diaries/13907-northern-lights-autoflower
@Erich, in wk 4 and 5 i was actually away on holidays. I had a buddy water them for me but no nutes. When i got back it was about 1 week into flowering. How far from your plants is your light?
