I got this seed in one of the GD contests. It's a hybrid with sativa dominance (30% Indica / 70% Sativa), the producer claims a flowering time of 8-9 weeks, also THC levels between 16-21% and monstrous yields... how scary!! 👹 The producer talks about aromas of toasted coffee beans and lemon, also effects that will bring joy to your body, mind, and soul... Ole!! 💃 They also say we can expect a sense of expanded consciousness and that it's for those seeking mental clarity, Cali Deli is the perfect companion for self-discovery and spiritual journeys... Ohmmmm! 🧙♂️🕉️☯️
On the downside, the producer doesn't provide any information about the parents, the strain has a Colombian name but that's it! 🤷♀️
The seed germinated in 36 hours, I prepared a light substrate mix with good drainage and buried the seed directly, I added some homemade auxins to the surface of the substrate, the first watering was with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA), Honey, and Ormus, and finally, I sprinkled Diatomite to control excess moisture and crawling bugs, I kept the pot in the dark and warm under a grow tent until the seed peeked out.
I’m keeping this seedling, and the others from this series of grows in my small tent of 40x40x140cm with a 30x30cm LED panel consuming 36w, with a color spectrum of 7700K, for now, I keep a dome on all the seedlings to maintain high relative humidity.
The idea is to transplant to the final pots between the second and third week of life and switch to flowering between the fourth and fifth.

After 14 days of life, everything is good, the seedling survives and starts to grow!
I keep this seedling in a tent lit 24 hours by a Vipar Spectra P1000 lamp at 34% of its power (29w) and 60cm away, gently swayed by a small fan that helps strengthen the stem... for now, the grow is stable and progressing.

This is the growing story of this strain and seven others, all pure sativa or sativa-dominant. I'm looking for plants, flavors, and smells that take me back to my old memories, where smoking marijuana was always a social experience and above all, an attitude of rebellion, which undoubtedly influenced the rest of my life. Today, for me, smoking marijuana is just an acceptable solitary vice, and growing it at home allows me to be self-sufficient in consumption. I just want to have my box full of the best marijuana I can grow. 🤷♂️
Relentlessly, I've decided to search for those old sativas all over the world, in this diary from Colombia 😍... of course, as long as the truck can handle it! 🚚🚶♂️🤷♂️
21 days have passed since I put the seed in the substrate. I'm growing this seedling on a mixed schedule, indoors for 10 hours, sharing a grow tent with all the others, then I take them to the window until dusk (+10 hours).
The seedling is progressing vigorously! 🤸♂️ The formation of the second node is advancing, and due to space issues, I'm going to wait at least a week to transplant to the final pot.
This week, the first watering to recover the moisture lost over these 3 weeks. I made a mix with my black bean auxins, honey, and bio-fermented pumpkin and minerals with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA). The day after this watering, when part of the top substrate has dried, I sprinkle diatomaceous earth (diatomite). This product has several advantages for this stage of growth; it protects me against crawling insects, for this the powder must be dry, it reflects sunlight to prevent the substrate of the small cup from heating up when I take it out in the sun, it prevents stem rot from excess moisture since it is absorbent, and finally, it provides silicon that helps harden and give elasticity to stems and leaves.

The fourth week has concluded, and halfway through it, I transplanted to the final pot, a 7L fabric pot with a stone base. Three days after the transplant, the plant looks comfortable in its new pot, the growth of this strain is very compact with little distance between nodes and a strong stem, the symmetry is, for now, perfect.
For this new growing season, I’m going to experiment with foliar fertilization during the vegetative growth stage. I have already tested the compatibility and efficiency of some of my soluble organic preparations, and the result is immediate and very good. Now I will define which combinations I make and the timing of application between them. The idea is mainly to maintain a substrate without nutrient clumps that favors the total expansion of the roots and to reach flowering with a very powerful root system that absorbs nutrients from that phase without any problem. Keeping the plants growing, the first weeks with gentle watering so that the plant feeds on the nutrients from the substrate is correct, but I’m thinking about the concept of high-yield plants, grown in a moderate substrate size (6-7 liters), where the nutrients from the substrate are released slowly and still deplete in a few weeks. So, I’m going to experiment with these new crops and throughout their vegetative phase with foliar fertilization because I want and need monstrous buds to fill my box!!
** The transplant process to the final pot I do in three differentiated stages, over a process of 3-4 days... how? 🙄🤷♀️
- First day:
- I prepare the substrate carefully, mixing 2 or 3 types of commercial substrate based on their composition and density. I add, to improve drainage and moisture and/or nutrient retention: Perlite, Vermiculite, Zeolite, and Coco Fiber; I enrich the mixture with worm humus, homemade bokashi, and goat and sheep manure, and finally, I add the minerals at a rate of 1 gram per liter of substrate. On this occasion, 3 types of clay: Montmorillonite, Kaolin, and Red Illite, also basalt rock powder, pumice stone, wood ash, Phosphorite (1.5g/l), and ground Leonardite (4g/l). This time I forgot to add Azomite, one of the most important minerals for its extensive range of microelements. I will dissolve the micronized Azomite in water and do a deep watering to ensure total distribution throughout the substrate. To finish, I added my charcoal preparation with Leonardite activated with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA); the charcoal retains nutrients and gives structure to the soil, and by introducing it with MMA, I ensure an inoculation of microorganisms throughout the substrate. You can see in the photo above the mycelium of microorganisms I found when I opened the container 30 days after making the preparation!
- Before the transplant, I deeply water the small seedling container to avoid it crumbling. In the transplant hole, I sprinkle my black bean auxins to promote rooting. I don’t do the first watering until 24 hours later; this way, the excess moisture from the small container distributes, by capillarity, through the new immediate substrate. At this stage, the roots grow by the minute, and this initial moisture helps guide the roots.
• Second day:
The small roots are already touching the dry substrate of the new pot; they are thirsty, and it’s time for me to do the first deep watering. This watering is very important to me; it serves to moderately moisten the entire substrate, watering with an amount of water that is approximately 15% of the pot's capacity. E.g.: 7-liter pot = 1 liter of initial watering. But the main function of this watering is to activate the microbiology of the substrate, thus promoting root expansion and plant growth. For this, I include in the watering some of my liquid Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) and sweeten it with natural honey, which is an excellent source of sugars and contains numerous enzymes that aid rooting and the beginning of microbiology propagation, which in turn will start to dissolve and mineralize the organic matter of the substrate and the minerals... I do the watering through the saucer and over the substrate, in a proportion of 1/3.
• Third day:
I fill the pots with substrate level with the edge; also, in the case of fabric pots, I fill the saucer with river stones that mimic mother rock and retain moisture and aerate the base, without risking substrate stagnation. I don’t want to lose a single centimeter of soil in the container. After the first watering, the substrate has dropped about 2-3 cm, so I fill this space with dry material from my own production 😋, I save the leaves from defoliations and dry stems, taking advantage of the mulch, pre-digested from previous crops. Recently, I’ve been practicing to ensure that this material doesn’t contain larvae, insect eggs, or pathogens; I microwave it for a few minutes!! 🤪 I have to say the results are excellent; before, in trying to keep the microbiology intact from the reused mulch, I couldn’t get rid of the fungus gnats; now they have completely disappeared, my last advanced crop is pest-free!! 🤠
I keep these new crops on a mixed schedule of 20 hours of light, 10 hours of indoor light under the excellent light of the Vipar P1000 lamp at 50% power (48w) and 30cm from the tops of the seedlings, then 10 more hours in the windows catching the free and unmatched sunlight! 🌞... pot here, pot there, that’s my life as an organic grower, I don’t know anything, but I want to understand everything!!

This is the growing story of a hybrid strain with sativa dominance, named Cali Deli, which has inspired me to embark on a journey through Colombia, in the old truck, to entertain myself and others, in search of landrace plants, to fill dad's marijuana box... but so far we haven't had any luck 🤷♀️🚚
- 35 days have passed since the seed met the substrate, 10 days since the transplant to the pot... 🌿💦🌞
- Plant with very compact growth, wide leaves with pronounced teeth on the edges... developing the fourth node.
- For now, I haven't done an apical cut, I think I'm going to wait for the fifth node, as the plant shows a manageable size.
- Midweek, I did the second deep watering, a mix with my lacto-fermented auxins and NP minerals, Activated Mountain Microorganisms with pumpkin and chitosan to strengthen the crop and continue with the inoculation of Microorganisms in the substrate, my animal protein amino acids extracted by enzymatic hydrolysis for extra energy and to promote vegetative growth, ormus to regulate pH, and all sweetened with natural heather honey! 💧... I reserved a few milliliters of the mix to do a foliar application to all the crops 🌱💐👌

The last week of vegetative growth has concluded, and just yesterday I switched the plant to flowering schedule 12.5/11.5h. The plant looks excellent, with short internodes and large serrated leaves. A few days ago, I did the apical cut, and yesterday I started tying the branches to begin shaping the plant. The compact appearance of this strain gives me hope for management.
Yesterday, I switched this and 6 other plants to flowering; I've started experimenting with a technique to try to accelerate the transition to flowering and thus slow down stretching as soon as possible. I'm using a 730nm (10w) LED bulb, turning it on 15 minutes before putting the plants in darkness and keeping it on for another 30 minutes. It seems that this light frequency helps with the rapid change of phytochrome, tricking the plant, and in practice, they say the plant behaves as if the schedule were 12.5/13.5h, gaining 2 hours and speeding up the entry into flowering... let's see if I notice any difference. I've used this lamp before in advanced flowering stages as a spectrum supplement; now I want to test this theory. If pre-flowering starts in a week, I would consider this experiment a success.

First week since the transition to flowering is complete, the plant looks very nice to my taste, shows very good compactness, a big drinker, I give her good home and food to keep her happy! 👨🌾💧💡 Go Colombia!!
To combat the great increase in relative humidity and the appearance of fungi, during the dark period I'm gathering the eleven current crops in a room with a dehumidifier, maintaining a relative humidity during that period, around 55-60%. Also, this week of very cloudy days, I keep all the plants with 12h of indoor light, if sunny days return, I will take my plants out for a couple of hours to enjoy the free and unmatched sunlight.

Seventh week since I started the new growing season, after a brief break, a week where I question, once again, the meaning of these weekly diaries on GD...
After more than two years publishing my organic crops, learning, sharing, tireless, knowledge, formulas, and techniques, writing from the emotion and euphoria of the eternal learner, without apology, trying at the same time, to lighten things up with my anti-heroes and memes, losers who have had the opportunity to express themselves freely, perhaps because I am one of them, or all! 👨🚀... all good! it has been fun and has allowed me to better structure my experience... but I am tired!!
The drift I observe in GD I do not like, the effort enjoyed before has gradually become, for me, vain and futile, I have sought knowledge and shared it... Is anyone there?, I have maintained independence from the soluble fertilizer industry, organic or chemical synthesis, and its predetermined nutrition tables, I have resisted some sponsorships... because some ask for more than they give!😯 and now I find myself like Simon in the desert, but still, I prefer to keep my grow diaries clean and free of dust and chaff... to be or to have!!
There is a trend, or rather, a race for "likes," in which I have also participated, that is mostly related to sponsorships, and also with those who, lacking other things, want to earn their place in heaven on GD... How many gurus will there be next month?... and the next? Usually, I receive "likes" from strangers, on old comments from here and there, also kind messages in my grow diaries, but mostly serialized, ignoring any context... all waiting for reciprocity, and I have behaved this way until now with this matter, but I observe that this leads to a loss of authenticity and even a perversion of the system, because I believe that the interest no longer lies in the grow diaries. For my part, I am not going to return any decontextualized or systematized "likes," whether in my diaries or outside of them, I appreciate and encourage communication among growers, and I am always open, with enthusiasm, to share my experience with anyone who wishes.
As for my grow diaries, I will be more cryptic, let's see if I can rescue some time and energy to do other things and finish the ongoing grow diaries.

Second week since switching to flowering schedule, eighth since seed.
Very nice and compact plant, with many budding shoots; for now, the phenotype seems more indica than sativa, but we’ll see in the end.
I’m giving this plant and all the others I’m growing a foliar application every three days with horsetail extract to prevent fungi, due to the significant increase in relative humidity.
Watering every 3 days with soluble formulations of macro and micro nutrients and microbiology; otherwise, this is an easy-to-grow strain, so far it has tolerated and responded to all the nutrients and is progressing steadily...

The cultivation is progressing, ninth week of life and third since the transition to flowering, the plant maintains its compactness while all the branches strengthen, the size of this grow allows me to manage it easily and contributes, for now, to not saturating the space in the grow tent. The plant has not yet left the vegetative growth stage, as there are no signs of pre-flower.
Water consumption is high, despite the low temperatures, watering every three days... all good! This week a light watering to not hinder the important hormonal change that comes with entering flowering. 😯 For now, I maintain a foliar application every 3 days with Horsetail extract for fungus control, due to the high humidity, the dehumidifier doesn't stop!! all good!!

Plants in these growth stages don't have much more to say, today I want to talk about two formulations of soluble Bio nutrients that I'm trying out this week, after being in anaerobic fermentation for 6 months for one and 10 months for the other... really exciting!!
These homemade Bio fertilizers perfectly align with my concept of self-sufficient, independent, and clandestine cultivation, but above all rebellious, for everything it means to me, and the day I manage to replace electric light in my grows with sunlight, the circle will be completely closed.
Both are based on the activation of Mountain Microorganisms, from the two Solid Mountain Microorganism (MMS) starters that I maintain with different strains collected from various virgin forests in my area; during the fermentation process, the microorganisms propagate, solubilize nutrients, and mineralize organic matter, plus they chelate the minerals present in the formula, the longer the anaerobic fermentation, the greater the amount of nutrients and minerals that are hydrolyzed.
I have found that with the regular and continuous application of activated mountain microorganisms (MMA), I maintain a high rate of decomposition of the organic matter and minerals present in the substrate, there is no limit to the application of MMA!!, there is no danger of saturation and over-fertilization, what I achieve is to greatly accelerate the natural processes of decomposition of organic matter and therefore the assimilation of nutrients, the MMA serve the nutrients and minerals that the plant requests,
How long does a Microorganism live? How long does it take for a bacterium to become a grandmother, great-grandmother, or great-great-grandmother? Do they live minutes, hours...? what I have experienced is that with a constant inoculation of MMA the organic matter of the mulch completely decomposes and turns into humus within the period of a crop, approximately, I add several times about 100-125g of dry matter to the mulch, which eventually disappears, I also make regular applications of solid amendments on the surface with guanos, algae, meals, etc., finally, for me, it is more efficient to create substrate mixes that prioritize aeration, drainage, and cation exchange, with hardly any added nutrients, only minerals, except for some worm humus and bokashi that I add to the substrate; I prefer it, for being more efficient and controllable, than creating super substrates, with which I experimented extensively in my early grows.
These Bio fermentations will replace some similar formulas that were running out, but I do not discard them, as they run out I am doing a second activation of Microorganisms, which will give rise to a second generation of microbiology and will continue the hydrolysis of the nutrients or minerals present, I will keep the barrels closed for as long as the new formulas last... and back to square one!!
From the fourth generation of Microorganisms, these will be suitable for human consumption... but that's another story! 🤷♀️
• MMA Ultra (Activated Mountain Microorganisms in liquid form with nutrients and minerals) - 02/05/21
This is a very complex formula that by itself would be enough to carry any crop from start to finish, it includes several vegetables (Pumpkin, carrot, and garlic) for their properties and vitamins, also three types of guanos (bat, bird, and mealworm) these guanos provide a great wealth of trace elements, in addition to NP; three minerals (Phosphorite, Azomite, and leonardite), and to finish, a bit of Kelp, and papain enzymes that will help convert protein (N) into amino acids.
To start fermentation I used whey from neighboring sheep, alkaline spring water to balance the acidification of the preparation, organic molasses, fresh yeast, and my Solid Mountain Microorganisms (MMS). Since February is a cold time, I kept the barrel warm during the first month to accelerate fermentation, then it has been closed and in the dark until today.

MMA Mineral (Activated Mountain Microorganisms in liquid form with minerals) 05/08/21
This Bio preparation guarantees the presence of all the minerals in the periodic table, also essential macro elements (P, K, Mg, Ca, S), thanks to the addition of 12 powdered minerals (Azomite, Montmorillonite, Basalt, Phosphorite, Kaolin, Illite, Ash, Pumice, Dolomite, Leonardite, Epsom salt, and Potassium sulfate), it is designed to be used from the end of the vegetative growth stage.
The procedure and fermentation elements are the same as the previous Bio fertilizer, in this case, and to accelerate the chelation or solubilization of the minerals I used double the amount of my Solid Mountain Microorganisms (MMS).
The main component of these Bio fermentations is the Mountain Microorganisms, which solubilize the rest of the components, but they can also be replaced by whey and then we would make a Lacto fermentation, where the lactic acid and lactic acid bacteria from the whey are also very effective for chelating minerals, mainly phosphate rock, lacto fermentations work very well for foliar nutrition and as a prebiotic.
Finally, it can also be replaced by fresh manure, just out of the backside of a free-ranging cow, here there are a series of bacteria, but mainly Bacillus subtilis, in addition to all the nutrients from the manure itself that make this preparation the star of all of them, but I can't talk more about it, because I have no practical experience, my wife forbade me from bringing manure into the house... so maybe another time. 🤷♀️

The grow is progressing, tenth week of life and fourth since the transition to flowering, the plant maintains great compactness, while all the branches are strengthening. The size of this grow allows me to manage it easily and, for now, prevents overcrowding in the grow tent. I've raised the pot to bring it closer to the light canopy.
The pre-flower has started off strong, new floral shoots are appearing everywhere. This plant is the smallest of all my grows, but it shares the strength of them all!! For now, this phenotype reminds me more of an Indica strain, but we'll have to see how the buds grow.
My battle against mold and high relative humidity levels is succeeding. I’m making periodic foliar applications with horsetail extract or chamomile infusion, and I keep humidity levels around 60% with a dehumidifier and good airflow. The first signs of mold that appeared two weeks ago on the lower leaves of all the grows have completely stopped!
Additionally, the water I extract from the dehumidifiers (EC: 0.07) works very well for watering. Mixing it with mountain water gives a final EC of 0.15, which allows me to slightly increase the nutrient concentration. Although my nutrition strategy is based on feeding a little with each watering, I usually don’t exceed EC levels of 1.8, with the common range being around EC: 1.0/1.2.

The grow is progressing, it's the fifth week since switching to flowering, and the plant maintains great compactness, while all the branches are strengthening. The size of this grow allows me to manage it easily and currently helps prevent overcrowding in the grow tent. I've raised the pot to bring it closer to the light canopy.
The floral buds are starting to take center stage, the plant has grown 5cm, it looks healthy, and I water it every 3-4 days. Right now, the weather is cold and humid, so I rush the waterings to aerate the substrate as much as possible.
This week is the first feeding after transplanting to the pot, and I've also increased the canopy light and the side LED panel to 100%. As the grow progresses, I will add more lights to increase the mass of the buds.

Sixth week since the switch to flowering, the plant is no longer stretching and is now fully dedicated to flower formation, with a very compact structure. I'm hoping for fat buds from this Colombian lineage strain. I water periodically with various mixtures of organic nutrients; this week I added dry matter to the mulch, which is excellent food for microorganisms. Additionally, it's a source of silicon and vital for maintaining moisture on the surface of the substrate, creating an ideal ecosystem for microbiology and allowing for adventitious roots to grow from the first centimeter of substrate.

Seventh week since the transition to flowering, this little plant is focused on forming flowers, which are starting to peek through the foliage; its size allows me to handle it easily. A magnificent canopy of buds is forming!!
I water deeply every three days, the last one very gently; I continue with foliar applications every three days using horsetail and chamomile for fungus control, I keep a dehumidifier running and have added an air extractor in the grow tents.
The highlight of this week has been the sunny days, which allow me to reduce the artificial light time by two hours per grow tent (I have 3), then I take all my pots outside for 2 and a half hours and tirelessly chase the rays of sun that come through my windows. I really enjoy seeing the plants exposed to the unmatched and free sunlight! 🌞💡, plus, it’s a lot of fun moving the plants around to catch every ray of sun!! 💃🤷♀️

My small, compact, and sturdy plant has reached eight weeks of flowering, the floral buds, adorned with thick white pistils like cotton threads, are splendidly taking their place, and in the end, I’m seeing that this plant is going to produce big branches full of buds, and all together it’s going to give monstrous buds... for sure! 👨🌾👍
The plant is having a good level of water consumption for irrigation, and this week, after a strengthening watering, I did a second watering to boost flower growth. Other than that, everything is going normally; I’m not giving up on fungus prevention with foliar applications of horsetail, despite the fact that in recent days the weather has improved and the days are sunny with normal relative humidity.
As soon as I can, I’m going to increase the lights in the canopy of this grow tent, I have several lights around, but I think I’ll add a 3000K COB LED with a 120° lens (50w), this way I ensure high brightness at the top and add a bit of red to the spectrum of the VE P1000 lamp, which for my taste, and in an advanced flowering stage, is too white at around 3500K, although so far the yield is very good.

Nine weeks since the switch to flowering, according to the producer, the plant should be ready for harvest in a week, and I always wonder if I should count from the moment of the schedule change or from when pre-flower appears... anyway, I've accepted that my photo-period plants always take longer to harvest, especially with sativas.
The plant shows a lot of vigor, with juvenile-looking flowering buds surrounded by dense, long white pistils... a plant that loves to be cared for! I grow my plants on a mixed schedule indoors (10h) / outdoors (2.5h), and this plant has a privileged spot where the sun rays caress it all the time; the flowers appreciate it!
I've done the second feeding of the season, I've also replenished mulch, life goes on, the plant gratefully receives all the nutrients I give it, water consumption is high, and I water deeply every 3 days. The plant has shown some powdery mildew spots that I keep under control with foliar applications of horsetail and strategic defoliations.

Tenth week of flowering for this sturdy plant of Colombian descent, the buds are fattening up and clustering together, the density is enormous, the plant maintains leaf mass for good photosynthesis, water consumption is very high and rising, watering every two days. This week I’m going to do watering to boost the growth of the colas, this plant still has a lot of energy left!
The plant has shown some powdery mildew spots that I keep under control with foliar applications of horsetail and low relative humidity between 50-60%. I have increased the power of the side light panel (3000k+660nm), now at 100%.

Twelve weeks of flowering for this strain with Colombian ancestry, a small and very compact plant with a great metabolism. I've grown it elevated on a pedestal to be closer to the light canopy. The buds are still rock-hard, water consumption has dropped a bit, and the plant has started shedding the larger, older leaves. The branches and flower shoots are progressing with a youthful appearance, showing no signs of amber trichomes! Deep watering with varied components every three days... mixed schedule, 10 hours in the grow tent and 2.5 hours in the January sun! 💃😁

Este fenotipo creció muy compacto, con baja altura, en contra de lo que publica el productor, en cambio los cogollos son muy densos y pegajosos, la producción decente y el cultivo fácil debido a la gran resistencia que mostró contra el oídio y la tolerancia y respuesta positiva a todos los nutrientes, la planta mantuvo, durante todo el cultivo un gran metabolismo.

Harvest week, the plant has exceeded the producer's forecast by 3 weeks, happy with the production, despite the short stature of the plant, the buds are very dense, sticky, and aromatic... it's going to be a delight to smoke it.
The genetics of this strain are kept secret: https://es.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Cali_Deli/Hypno_Seeds/, but they claim it's a sativa-dominant strain, large in size and height. In the phenotype I’ve grown, none of this is present; it seems more like an indica than a sativa. Still, it smells great, the plant has shown great vigor and metabolism, and I expect a great smoke.
Here ends this growing journey, through Colombian lands, the name Cali suggested it to me, I was expecting a lush Colombian sativa, it’s not surprising not to find it, Colombia is another place where native seeds are at serious risk of extinction in favor of commerce and hybrid seeds.
