Just got these clones from a local shop. They are pretty far along and have already rooted. They look beat to hell but I'm hoping I can bring them back. The strain is called Quest and I have literally no information about it other than it's a 70/30 sativa hybrid and the strain got good reviews on Leafly. It's my second grow and my first sativa, here we go! Day 5 edit- these clones weren't the healthiest at the beginning. They were root bound in a solo cup of dirt. I had to rinse the roots and replant in DWC and I definitely caused some transplant shock. The roots are visible in the net pot but have not poked through yet. I upped the nutes to 510 ppm since the new growth has started to come back. I've also been spraying plants with a water/rhizotonic spray to help the roots through their shock. I normally apply a light spray about 3 times a day. The lights have been dimmed to about 30% all week, I just upped it to 50% in hopes it will speed up new growth. I've never dealt with this amount of shock before, any advice is appreciated.

Dealing with transplant shock, do I remove unhealthy leaves now to focus on the healthier new growth? Or wait until it has recovered and has resumed normal growth before removing?

No, leave the leaves, she needs them to make the energy that she needs to grow. They may look terrible now, but in a few days they will be back to normal. Besides, the new growth needs the old growth to make the energy for the new growth to grow! All energy for growth comes from the leaves, so, less leaves = less energy being made = less growth. Plants can not focus or direct energy to a specific area, all energy is used equally where ever any growth is occurring, so the idea that plants can focus their energy to specific areas, is false. Also, for a plant to be able to make decisions about where energy is directed would require that the plant has a brain capable of making conscious decisions, which they clearly do not. Just remember, More leaves = more energy being made = more growth and faster growth too. Hope this helps, Organoman.

The girls are coming back! I stopped top watering, increased the air in the res, and dropped the light back to about 25%. I left them for about 4 days and came back to them doing awesome. The roots have finally dropped out of the net pot and into the solution. The right plant was definitely battling some root rot but we seem to be in the clear now that the roots have grown out. My ppm is still at 540 and my pH has held steady so I am going to hold off on the res change for another week. Going to FIM this weekend and get my scrog ready. Super happy these girls are rebounding, I was worried that one of the one on the right wasn't going to pull through.

Plants are growing beautifully. A few rust spots on the leaves. I upped my nutes to 75% strength and fimmed every branch. They are almost touching the scrog. Probably a week or 2 left in veg at this point.

Growth is booming. Plants have both reached the scrog. For fear of running out of space, I flipped them into flower.

The stretch has began. These girls grew a bunch once I switched them to flower. The only problem I have now is getting them to grow up into the scrog net instead of sideways. I'm about to decide which of the lower branches are going to make it and lollipop the rest.

Good growth this week. I'm about done weaving the left plant, it is nice and even and I think it's almost done with the stretch. The right plant has been about 3-5 days behind the other so I still have some weaving and lollipopping to finish up. I snapped the top almost completely off the main stem of the left plant but I got it taped in time and after about 24 hours it's like it never happened! I switched from veg to flower nutes this week and have finally gotten the lights up to 100%. They look happy and healthy, I'm ready to start seeing some buds!

The buds are really coming in. I upped the nutes slightly since the water intake has increased. We definitely have some trichomes coming in strong. Excited to see how they progress.

Great growth this week. I lowered the lights to 6" (manufacturer recommended) and the plants seem to be adjusting well. They are definitely getting sparkly and starting to smell great. I cleared out a bunch of leaves to make sure all the bud sights get good lighting. I'm adding some PK booster for next week to see how they do.

The buds have grown quite a bit taller. The smell has definitely increased. A few small signs of nute burn and maybe a little light burn. I raised the lights 2 inches and reduced the nutes about 600ppm. My plan is to keep these nute proportions until it is ready to flush.

Buds are definitely growing. I had a cal mag shortage this week that has since been corrected. There is a weird mutation that has fan leaves starting to grow pistils in the center of the leaf. It's happening in probably 10-20 spots that I have noticed so far.

The buds are definitely fattening up. I have some leaf yellowing/rust spots this week. I believe the issue is a cal mag deficiency due to the PH dropping too low. I was out of town for 4 days and the pH dropped to about 5.2 by the time I got back. I fixed the issue and am going to maintain it daily at 6.0 until the leaves bounce back. It looks like I should yield quite a bit. Fingers crossed. I checked the trichomes. It looks like I have a few ambers starting on some of the sugar leaves. Maybe another 2-3 weeks until chop. Hard to tell, this is a new strain for me and my first sativa.

The terpenes are starting to come through. There is a delicious fruity smell pushing through the diesel smell. The leaves are beginning to yellow and I think we are coming to the end. I have some pretty big and sparkly colas coming through. I shut off my red lights on the LEDs to get a good video that shows off that sparkle. Trichomes on the sugar leaves are beginning to turn amber, the rest are almost completely milky. I'm giving it another week before I chop. I do a slow flush at 470ppm with only canna boost, cannazyme, and cal mag. I will be topping off with only phd water this week.

I did a pre trim and took off the big fan/sugar leaves and packed the buds in paper bags. I layered half the bag using cardboard sheets separated by the pizza box tables. I let them dry in there for about 5 days, then I will do the final trim and put them in jars to cure. I will post updates with final pics once I do the final trim Update 1/7: all trimmed and dry with a few days of curing. I ended up with 10.7oz of nice trimmed buds, 1.7 oz of trim and 4.2 oz of popcorn. Super happy with how it turned out. The terps are already starting to come through, 3-4 more weeks of curing and this stuff will be fire!
