Decided to run the 3 Bears OG x Double Grape once again as she proved to be quite a delicious smoke that packs a nice fuzzy punch. This strain was a freebie included with others I ordered from Mephisto Genetics and it has become an instant fave. She'll be one of two autoflowers that will be squeezing into this little tent.
Mostly standard germination stuff. Soaked seed in water overnight. Moved seed to wet paper towel and placed inside plastic baggie. Baggie was placed in shoebox that was sitting on a heat mat. After 48 hours I transferred sprouted seed into a pete plug - the sprout on this seed was pretty long and rather than just trim it shorter (which I should have done) I did an extremely janky job of trying to stuff everything into the plug. Wobbly seedling moved into net pot and 5 gallon DWC bucket today, 8 days after dropping the seed.
As you can see from the pics, she's hanging pretty loose at the moment. Hopefully, she'll perk up 🤞
The 3 Bears OG x Double Grape looks like she'll be o.k. She had a very long tap root following germination that I really should have trimmed it before setting her in the pete plug. Thankfully, she seems to have finally settled in.
I've been top-feeding her every other day over the past week. I'm going easier on the nutes this time around - EC running around .3 currently.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The 3 Bears OG x Double Grape has settled in nicely and is looking good.
Rez change today with a slight increase in nutes; still treading on the light side with EC running .4 - .5.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The 3B2G is looking great. Lots of growth over the past week.
Slight bump in nutes with today's rez change - EC .5 (250PPM).
FIMed her two days ago. Will get the ScrOG going in a few days. Flower time is near.
Thanks for checking in ✌️
The old Grizzly Grapes is doing fine and has entered flower.
Did a bit of defoliation and removed some lower branches and got her into the ScrOG. She's looking a little spindly after her trim but she'll bounce back, I'm sure.
Increased nutes slightly and introduced bloom/flower nutes. EC is running around .7 (330 PPM). Her PH has been in range, running between 5.9 - 6.5 through the week.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Grizzly Grapes is growing nicely! She's put on 12" since last week and the flowers are popping.
She got a rez change today with a slight increase in nutes. EC is between .8-.9 (450 PPM).
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Grizzly Grapes is growing great with no issues other than my ham fisted ways. I tried folding over the main stem to even out the canopy and ended up breaking it trying to weave the branch through the ScrOG. Fortunately(?), I only lost the very top bud. The canopy is very even now. She's settled into her side of the ScrOG and filled it out nicely. Bud sites are swelling and getting bigger and frostier every day.
EC has been running around .9 throughout the week with PH running between 6 - 6.4. A little bump with todays rez change - a bit more P/K. EC running at 1.0.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Grizzly Grapes is doing great. She's certainly looking much better than the last time I ran this strain and is not suffering from any of the deficiencies I encountered last time around.
EC has been running between 1 - 1.2 (500-620 PPM) through the week and PH 6 - 6.4. Rez change today.
Buds are swelling and getting super frosty. About 3 more weeks to go. Looking forward to the finish.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Grizzly Grapes is continuing to ripen and get frosty.
She's looking pretty darn good other than some of that darn rustiness on some of the leaves. I strongly suspect calcium and/or phosphorous deficiency due to high PH. Although in range, I don't think either of the plants in this tent can tolerate their PH running north of 6.2 for extended periods of time. Fortunately, she's not nearly as afflicted as her poor tent mate. I've been trying to keep her PH between 5.8 and 6. Hopefully, my suspicions are correct. <---- If I had a nickel for every time I said that 🙄
Getting close. A couple of weeks to go!
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Grizzly Grapes is smelling quite delicious - like a skunk in a vineyard.
Her buds did quite a bit of swelling over the past week and are getting more heavy.
I'll do her final rez change in the next day or two.
Probably looking to chop her in the next 7-10 days. Had a peak at the trichs today and things are starting to move from clear to cloudy 👍
Looking forward to the harvest 🚜🌾
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Final days for the Grizzly Grapes. Trichs are mostly cloudy now. Just waiting to see some amber and the axe will fall - hopefully, within the next week.
Her pungent, grapey dankness is driving me wild. I can't wait to harvest her 😍
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
A strain so nice, I had to grow it twice. This was my second time around with this one, having become a fan of its gassy-grapey flavour. Another winner from Mephisto Genetics.
This was my second time growing this strain. Overcame some lockout issues due to high PH and even improved slightly on my first harvest despite sharing the tent with another plant this time around. Pretty happy with the end result.
@Oozle, I certainly don't want to make a practice of doing it. I've been using a heat mat as part of the germination process the last couple of times and it seems to really speed things along. I should have checked the seeds after 24 hours rather than 48.
@Oozle, I was always afraid too, but I actually trimmed the tap root on the Fire OG as it had an even longer tail. It worked out fine. I only wanted to try it on one seed in case it was a disaster.
I’ve got over ten of these freebie seeds, might have to do a big Mephisto Freebie run as my next auto group.
Their F1 freebies are fire, I’ve run five different crosses so far, haven’t had the pleasure of popping any of these yet.
