Taking another swing at Creme de la Chem from Mephisto Genetics. Things didn't work out when I tried germinating a seed previously so hoping for better luck this time around. This will be one of two autoflowers from Mephisto that will be growing in this little tent.
Creme de la Chem
--------------------
Indica/Sativa: 70/30
Cycle Time: 65 to 70 days from sprout
Aroma and flavour: Varied delights from flowers and spices to incense with fuelly notes. Tastes and smells VERY STRONG.
Effect: Highly potent, long duration high.
Medicinal Effects: Fantastic medicinal strain, aches/pains/insomnia all taken care of.
Extract: Rich in terps ideal for rosin, live resin and bubble hash.
Standard germination stuff. Soaked seed in water overnight. Moved seed to wet paper towel and placed inside plastic baggie. Baggie was placed in shoebox that was sitting on a heat mat. After 48 hours I transferred sprouted seed into a pete plug. Seedling moved into net pot and 5 gallon DWC bucket today, 8 days after dropping the seed.
Only 69 more days to go! (give or take)
The CDC is doing well. Her roots have just started to break through the net pot and is the first of the 4 plants in my current grow to do so.
I've been top-feeding her every other day over the past week. I'm going easier on the nutes this time around - EC running at about .4 currently.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Creme de la Chem îs getting down to business and growing vigorously. No issues to report.
Rez change today with a slight increase in nutes; still treading on the light side with EC running .4 - .5.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Creme de la Chem is doing great. Lots of growth over the past week. I noticed a bit of spotting on the lower leaves but i think this is a result of the PH being out of whack for a couple days. I was a little neglectful and it was running up near 7. I'll be keeping a closer eye on her. Her PH has been running around 6.0 since I corrected things.
Slight bump in nutes with today's rez change - EC .5 (250PPM). Some brown areas on the roots which I think can be attributed the the VeloKelp - it's a little silty.
FIMed her two days ago. Will get the ScrOG going in a few days. Flower time is near.
Thanks for checking in ✌️
The Creme de la Chem îs doing fine and has moved into flower.
Did a bit of defoliation and removed some lower branches and got her ScrOG.
Increased nutes slightly and introduced bloom/flower nutes. EC is running around .7 (350 PPM). Her PH tends to rise more quickly than my other plants (she's also the hungriest) so I have to keep a closer eye on her. Her PH has been between 6.0 - 6.7 over the past week.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The CDC is doing o.k. but leaves are still showing signs of issues. I've got the spiking PH under control so I think she's needing more P & K; I increased the dosage with today's rez change; is running around 1.0 (520 PPM). Hopefully, she'll start to turn around.
Other than that, lots of nice bud sites and she's spreading out nicely in the ScrOG.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Creme de la Chem is doing her thing - getting frosty and fragrant. Past deficiencies seem to be behind her now 🤞
EC has been running around 1 throughout the week with PH running between 6 - 6.4. Rez change today. No big changes - leaning into the P/K a bit more.
Pretty impressed to see how much frost is on her at this stage. Can't wait to see where things end up. ❄️
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The CDC is still bearing some scars (calcium deficiency?) but is doing fine.
EC has been running between 1 - 1.2 (500-620 PPM) through the week and PH 6 - 6.4. I gave her an extra dose of MangnifiCal in her top-ups during the week and a little extra in the rez change today.
Buds are swelling and getting super frosty. About 3 more weeks to go. Looking forward to the finish.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
I think if there were a protective services hotline to report plant abuse, someone looking at the leaves on this plant may have to rat me out 😳
The calcium and/or phosphorous deficiency has really taken its toll on this poor girl. I strongly suspect lockout due to high PH. I don't think this plant can tolerate its PH running north of 6.1 for extended periods of time and unfortunately I've let the PH rise too frequently; especially early on). I've been trying to keep her PH between 5.8 and 6 - a little too late me thinks to see noticeable improvements, but she's got some nice buds going nonetheless.
A couple of more weeks to go.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
In the home stretch now. All things considered, she's finishing very nicely. Buds are super fragrant; sweet and flowery with hints of pepper.
I'll do her final rez change in the next day or two. Probably looking to chop her in the next 7-10 days. Had a peak at the trichs today and things are starting to move from clear to cloudy 👍
Looking forward to the harvest 🚜🌾
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Final days for the CDC. Trichs are mostly cloudy now. Just waiting to see some amber and the axe will fall - hopefully, within the next week.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Creme de la Chem turned out to be very tasty; gassy with a floral sweetness - hints of moth balls. A nice potent, lingering high, one's mind can wander after partaking of a few bowls in the vape - best enjoyed when you don't have anything important to do.
Made it to the finish line but not without issues. I let her PH run too high early on (6.2-6.5) and she suffered some deficiencies due to lockout. Still very happy with the end result all things considered. I'll definitely pop another bean in the future.
@Oozle, Considering my neglect, she's turned out ok. Hopefully, I've finally learned my lesson and will manage the PH better in the future. 5.9 - 6.1 seems to be the sweet spot.
