Iheartcannabis Well big week for growth here in the tent. These ladies shot up. But they do seam overwatered as I saw some slight mag deficiencies from the looks of it and the gnats have made their way out. Yellow sticky traps to cut down the numbers as much as I can and a valuable lesson in proper watering. Also my very first time practicing LST. Took my time and created a leverage point at the base of the stem with coated wire and file clips. Gently worked the stem to loosen it and start bending it over. Moved flowering sites apart and tucked fan leaves.

Iheartcannabis Plants are reacting well to the LST. Adjusting it and adding new ones almost every day. Definitely a slight mag deficiency on some of the leaves but not too bad. Hopefully the nutrients will reach it before it gets out of hand. The first signs of flowering have arrived at about 26 days from sprout. Now that’s fast!

Iheartcannabis More working on my LST making sure each flowering site is getting ample light. No nutrients just water. They taking about a half galling of water every five days. Letting them dry out between watering.

Iheartcannabis So a tough week for the girls. They really decided to stretch and I wasn’t expecting what kind of impact it would have on the amount of light they are getting. They definitely got light burn on most of the top leaves. I figured they were getting lots of light, great. But when I got a ppfd meter App on my phone I showed I was over 1100!!! My poor girls I’m sorry. So I backed them off and brought it back down to around 600/700. Won’t make that mistake again, I hope.. 🤦‍♂️

Iheartcannabis Well this week hit me like a ton of bricks. Lol. After recovering from beating my ladies up with too much light. I am also now starving them! I guess the Dr earth and this substrate just take too long to break down. I also believe it might be due to my watering habits as well. I’ve been watering to a soaked pot each time, then waiting for it to dry out. That was taking 5/6 days! Those nutes were just not getting there and then drying my soil and killing my microbes. I’m getting so many lessons! Yay!! 🤦‍♂️ So I’m changing it up and watering less, more often.

Iheartcannabis Well this week was an all out assault on feeding for my poor ladies. I got em microbes and nutes and now a proper watering cycle. Keeping them on these nutes for the last few weeks. Seams to have stopped the yellowing from progressing. The plant in the back seams to have been stunted by the light burn. Buds are forming a lot slower and more airy than the first plant. Well hopefully I can keep them going to harvest. Smoke a doobie and keep those paws crossed is all I can do.

Iheartcannabis The ladies are definitely liking the better attention they are getting, and the more food. The yellowing has stopped progressing but the parts that have been light burned are permanently scarred, reminding me everyday that I let them down, I put baby in the corner. Never again, No one puts baby in the corner! Back plant still behind my best girl. Just seams to be growing very airy buds. But I’ll let her do her thing. Plant one is beefing right up. Getting chunkier by the day.

Iheartcannabis Well this week the ladies got the bump. Not because we are breaking up, but they are on their last two weeks! Crazy how fast times flys when your having fun. It was time to let the next generation take center stage under the lights. I want to give the older girls a little less light on the last couple weeks to ripen up. Gradually bring them down as the days go on. Getting more trichomes by the day now. But that back lady is being stubborn, not even a red hair yet and still very airy. The nutes have definitely helped fill her out and get her growing again. But those leaves are like slaps in the face. Never again my fair lady.. :(

Iheartcannabis These ladies are just stuffing their faces, all fat and giggly like. Do your thang ladies. I like the big girls.. :) but they are now starting their water only diet. No more food till they get the chop. I don’t wana talk about it. It’s gonna be hard. I won’t lie. After raising them, everything we have been through. Their trichomes are even starting to get amber. Ugh, they grow up too soon. ;) maybe one more week till they leave for dry tent collage.

Iheartcannabis Ok big week for my girls. I have to admit. Taking the sheers to my little girl. To grab one of her arms, that I’ve been nurturing for so long, and just cut it off!!! Damn you, they don’t tell you about this part in the forums, that’s for sure. But after making that first cut, and holding that cola in the air, smelling it like a bouquet of summer flowers running hand and hand with me through the meadow… ahh it’s breathtaking. GG1 is officially in the drying box, which has a viewing door, hydrometer, cold air intake in the front. The box is connected to my tent so the air draw comes from the front of the box on the ground level, gently across the buds and into the tent. I’m dealing with higher humidity level of 60%/temp63 degrees which is great but definitely need that air movement. With me luck on the dry and with GG2 growing! Will post the dry harvest next week or two. Promise. ;)

Iheartcannabis Well kind of a boring week for the ladies. The first GG is still in the dry box. I’ll post the harvest next week for the trim and Instagram style photo shoot, you know on a beach, lots of filters, perfect light. Make her look as sexy as she can be, wait that’s my little girl… oh well, she worth it. Hopefully. I have moved all the ladies around and now using both lights to help raise the temps in the grow tent. Basement is down to 60 degrees. And while it’s ok for the drying, the growing… well that needs more heat. So with both going the tent is up to almost 75 degrees which is great. So Tune in next week for the season finale of GG #1! It’s my first harvest and am giddy as a schoolgirl

Well the first smaller GG has been harvest! I can’t believe I made it all the way. To burning the hell out of it with too much light, to not giving it proper nutrients and turning the plant almost completely yellow half way through flower, power outages, broken light timer.. I made it. My first grow was just was I expected it to be. A hard lesson of the challenges of growing indoors in pots. I knew it would be. But so many good lessons learned and my second grow is already killing it from what I’ve learned here. So take it all in, keep a journal, track as much as you can, and keep working at it! Gotta love the rewards!

Iheartcannabis Well can’t say much about the final call. But the bud dried for 14 days at 58-60 degrees and 54-60% humidity. After the 14 days she got the dry trim. May have been a little dryer than it should be. But even the small popcorn buds didn’t snap off the stem. Outside was crisp, inside still slightly squishy. After a couple hours in the jar they were showing 57% rh in the jar. I might bring that up with a boveda pack if it’s not higher in the morning. So far the smell is strong. The cold long dry has helped with that I’m sure. Like a dank earthiness. I’m excited to see how it develops. Excited that I actually have terps left after what I put her through. So I gotta take that as a win. Just means that these autos can take some serious punishment and still give ya something decent to smoke. Which is great for a newbie like me.

@Iheartcannabis, interesting - thxs for the info.
Iheartcannabis
Iheartcannabiscommented4y ago
@Valmont505, it’s for gnat control. I am all organic and it tends to happen. Most likely from the substrate/watering. They are just sticky pads. The gnats are drawn to the yellow color and then get stuck.
