Germinated using Burpee self-watering coco coir pods. The self-watering aspect is genius as it never gets too dry or too wet, and you don't have to pay a lot of attention to it if you put under 18/6 light after the 1st night. PPFD 200-300. Humidity kept at 65 with humidifier.

These pictures summarize 3 weeks of growth and problems. Seemed like the leaves were dying. I backed off nutes. That didn't work. I finally upped PPFD to 400 and gave nutes again and they are perking up.
Picked the best 2 of each strain and sent in for sex testing, since these are all regular seeds.
PPFD - 400 in Middle, 18/6 Light Cycle
Just waiting for the DNA sex testing results to decide what to do next. One or Two of the plants will go on to become flowered, the males will likely be discarded.
Sweet Basil keeping the cannabis company and giving the tent a nice basil/weed smell.
I deliberately brought the light levels down to 90 PPFD from 300 PPFD in the middle of each tent. 4 plants in each tent. So I am waiting on the Delta Labs genetic sex testing results, I have to hold onto 8 plants. I will go down to 1 or 2 plants after this. Also, I'm trying to get past the Thanksgiving holidays before these plants start putting out some smell. That's why I've put them in the back burner. I wasn't sure that it would work -- cutting their light down drastically and the nutrients as well, but everything seems to be slowing down after the plants grew massive solar panels on one node and then slowing down dramatically.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I topped all the main 6 plants that are being sex tested. They are recovering from that.
Wed - Got DNA results! 5 of 6 tested were males! Discarded them all. Down to 3 plants, but one Burning Man female will get the whole 27x27 tent. My favorite.
Only one plant left this week, as the rest were discarded following getting 5 of 6 males from DNA sex test.
Repotted into a 5 gal fabric pot. I use fabric because it is so easy to LST using velcro straps.
LST by tying back the bud branches.
240 PPFD on 18/6 cycle. Giving light nutrients.
PPFD 260 (in center) on 18/6 Light Schedule.
Growing slowly due to the low lights, as I'm trying to get past the holidays without a lot of smell. Also, it's interesting how you can slow and speed up the growth cycle to fit your life.
Tying down all the growth shoots to fill this small tent.
500 PPFD, 27 DLI on 18/6 Light Cycle
Got through the holidays. Now it's time to go full throttle. Going up on Light working toward flip in a week or two.
PPFD 500 with 18/6 Light Cycle.
Just did a major defoliation and kicked the light up to 600 PPFD in the center. Plant is still pretty small, and has not filled in the Scrog well, so another week, higher light and nutrients and hope to get this thing growing more rapidly.
PPF 900 on 18/6 Cycle
Repotted into 7 gal plastic pot because I was having to water too often. I'm an every other day waterer, so I will use bigger pots just to keep my watering down.
At the same time did a medium defoliation. This Burning Man is leafy with short internodes, so it's taking a while to fill in the scrog.
FLIP DATE TO 12/12 Light - DEC 14, 2021
PPFD 900 in Center on 12/12 Schedule
Flipped light schedule earlier this week. It is in fast grow mode now, which is what I want going into the stretch.
PPFD in center is around 1000 in a 12/12 light schedule. Starting to form buds now among all the leaves. End of week 3 I'm going to defoliate to bring down the humidity. I've read lots on the argument pro and con on defoliation, but I don't really have other options to decrease humidity.
PPFD - 1100 in Middle
Light Schedule - 12/12
Days Since Planting - 97
Days in Flower - 25
Defoliation today to allow more light and airflow through the canopy. This is a leafy variety, but I think it is near the end of stretch, and won't grow many more flowers.
Not very smelly at this point. Last time I grew it the terps were not strong either. Just loved the effects.
Your plants are definitely perking up and looking way better. Good job. I’ll follow this as I have burning man and hazelnut in the box. I was thinking of doing Ethos Gpa stash and burning man next run for short finish times before the humidity hits.
@Bshepp8, I have grown both before, and they both have nice effects. Burning Man is my favorite of the strains I've grown because it's indica dominance gives me a great night-time narcotic type high without any anxiety.
As I noted in my post, I'm deliberately slowing these strains down so that I can get past the holidays without smelling up the whole house.
