Day 15
They are ready for water/feed. I made a tea and had it brew for 24hrs. I put the solids in my compost and the tea I fed to the plants.
Ingredients mixed into 2 gallons of water:
3/4 cup Dr. Earth Alfalfa Meal
1/4 cup Dr. Earth Kelp Meal
1 Tbs. soluble mycorrhizae
2 Tbs. molasses
I mix it all together and use an air pump and air stone, turning on for 15mins every 2 hours. 24hrs later, it's ready. Strain to separate the solids. Put the solids around the plant to water in. This time I put them in the compost bin, it needed it. Checked the ppm and it was at 1410. I added 2 gallons of regular tap water and mixed the 4 gallons up well. Checked again and it was 809ppm. I halved the mixture, saving half for later. The other half, now back at 2 gallons, I added another 2 gallons to it. Now I had 4 gallons, 462ppm, and the pH was 6.6. I decided that it was perfect for water/feeding. Each plant got 100oz of the tea.
Day 16
They look happy today, the media is very wet from the larger amount of tea I gave each one. No signs of stress or problems. All seems well.
Day 17
The media still feels wet from the tea. They look like they had a little spurt of growth. The light was moved lower and the watts turned up to 680w, the medium setting on the light. The par now reads 630umol/s across the top of the plants. They are looking happy with good color so far.
Day 18
The media is just damp, but I'm going to wait one more day before feeding. Hoping to push the roots out further. I have decided to do a foliar feeding of triacontanol and yucca. I used 1.5% triacontanol, adding just .125g to 16oz of water. I also added 1/16tsp of yucca. This was mixed thoroughly and then sprayed onto and under the leaves, once lights were out. I also sprayed the top of the media, but only enough to make it darker from being damp. Depending on how well the plants react to this, I may do it again in about 2 weeks.
Day 19
Feeding day. Since I figure the media will stay damp for a few days, I decided now would be a good time to add dry fertilizer and scratch it into the media which I planned on doing on day 21. I mixed 1Tbs per gallon of media of Veg & Herb 4-6-3 with 1Tbs per gallon of media of Bud & Bloom 3-9-4. I also mixed water/feed using Nitro Big and Pot of Gold liquids. I used. 1Tbs of each, per gallon of water. I fed each plant 100oz of water/feed.
Day 20
They all look good and very happy. Growth looks good so far on all three of them. Plant 1 is still the largest.
Day 21
The media still feels plenty damp. Waiting to see a little more growth before training any of them.
