- Week 1 - I left these like a dummy for 3 days in a paper towel. They were all spindly and interwoven so I used vermiculite and soil, at an extremely wet % vastly more than normal, to allow the seedlings to "Squirm" into position. Every morning I would "flip" or cover exposed roots and help the seed get back to normal. This took about 3 days, and today they have completely fixed themselves straight. I will be transplanting very shortly into small 2-4" pots, to prevent root rot from the wet soil. 8 out of 10 seeds germinated. 80% rate is great for my mistakes. This is a Strain Hunt!! I'm looking for these traits: - Heavy budding - Wedding cake genetics - Compact Tree like structure - Hash passion genetics - Fast finish - Hash passion genetics - Sugar smell - Hash passion genetics - Pistachio/cashew smell - Hash passion genetics - Tropical citrus smell - Wedding cake genetics - Purple or hyper orange coloration - Wedding cake genetics All smells I want combined into 1 flavor profile. A nutty sweet orange smell is the ultimate smell profile goal. All plants will be cloned, and the clones will be flowered. All plants cloned that hit like a brick will be tested for THC to see if it's worthwhile to keep. All plants that are, meh - decent quality and not home runs, have the original mothers go into flower to finish those genetics. The will not be re-flowered. I did this last run on my 91 Krypt's. Any plant exhibiting more than half the desired traits, especially smell, will be tested for THC and terpenes. If above 20% and good flavor profile, will keep. At end of total run, will either A) self-breed winning genetics for preservation with moms in flower for seeds. Start more seeds from the W.C X H.P pile I have (roughly 500+) B) Self-breed winning genetics with a clone for seeds, keep mom in veg. Start more seeds. Shelf mom into a small bonsai plant for later. C) Self-breed winning genetics with a clone for seeds, keep mom in veg. Clone mom again and grow tons more and dial in plant to see maximum potential harvest. Let's get growing! This will be like my last perpetual grow and most likely be super rambling long winded and have dozens of weeks for a nearly full years long diary.

Hey look at that, week 1 begins. 3 had extremely long roots, they went into taller pots. I had old shrimp compost, I used a ratio of roughly "that looks good" to "that's enough soil" or more closer to 1:20 application. This is just to assist in bumping the seedlings rooting and shoots, its a 0.6-0.4-0.4 mixture that's degraded even further to burn less and will slow release over next month, should be able to wait an additional week or two before fertilizer application starts. Watered 6.4pH with mist spray at end, 6.4pH water used to mix soil for transplant. You'll notice I was pretty rough with em'. I usually am, it's very rare they die, let's hope I don't eat these words *knock on wood*. The trick is to not over water or under water them and the rest is usually just fluff worrying. Let's find out! Day 1 begins 10-29 - Oct 31 - So they went through water much faster than I expected and 1 is crinkled due to water/heat dmg combo but has recovered so far. Checking daily for watering morning and night. They're doing great otherwise. Will be topped on 4th node. Watered at 50ppm (ppm comes from pH acid base) 6.4pH - Nov 4 - They're doing well. Not much else to say. Going to be 7-10 days before 4th node topping but probably closer to 14 days.

Week 2 They're doing well. A little light burn on some from forgetting to check to water but that was from last week, they're recovering. Shrimp compost helps out, some of these little guys are already on 3rd node. I'll probably continue to use shrimp compost for seedlings from now on. Between some of the seedlings you can see the side leaf shoots have differentiations between sativa and indica thickness which is a good sign I've got a nice mix for these 9.

The good the bad the ugly: The good - Everything's alive, most are okay, couple are doing incredible, couple are meh The bad - Welp im back to the 91 krypt issue, each one of these is showing vastly wild differentiations regarding water requirements and how it reacts to the shrimp compost. As you can see some have rocketed to a quicker size than Im used to while others struggled. The one hidden benefit of the bad, is I'm going to use this current reaction from the plants to gauge the feeding amounts as they age. I will make a sliding scale of 100% to 25% strength feedings to better give the plants it's genetic requirements for proper growth. the ugly - Shrimp compost wasn't worth it, was still too hot for some seedlings. A one and done approach to never happen again. Luckily they're all alive. Will continue to watch grow, transplant until they hit 1 gallon size, let grow for 4 full weeks after transplant stage is over and take stock of the physical characteristics to see which might like topping or would rather stay as a christmas tree standard. Once that's been done, I will clone every 25% of these and flower the clones, hoping for 2-3 clones per mom to work fertilizer %'s with and to prevent any issues with errors I make. You'll never truly see a perfect grow from me with the strain hunting, I'm too into experimentation with aspects that can affect yield, It's hard not to tinker just to see what happens. (A-la shrimp compost) When I finally find the strain I want to dial in and really make "my strain", then you'll see mass yield & perfect rigor towards growth needs. Cheers!
