Week 6 done and dusted!!
Making some great progress!! I've taken off their ties and am going to let them do their thing!!
They've had a feed and I've given them some Grow, and some Bloom at quarter the stated measurement to get them ready for when I flip them!!
I've also got a problem - FUNGUS GNAT LAVAE!! β οΈ Luckily I've dealt with the worst of them before - spidermites being the worst - so I have a backup with Diatomite aka Diatomaceous Earth, one of if not the best 100% organic pesticide!!
Diatomite (or Diatomaceous Earth: DE for short) is a very fine silica-rich powder. It is made from a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock made up of the fossilised microscopic skeletal remains of hard-shelled plant-like algae called diatoms.
The make-up of diatomite is approximately 33% silicon, 19% calcium, 5% sodium, 3% magnesium and 2% iron along with several other trace minerals.
Diatomite is a lethal dust with microscopic sharp edges that cuts through their protective covering and dries them out. It will not harm the worms or any of the beneficial microorganisms in the soil. I just mix it in with the feed once per month and let it do its thang!! π€
I've also made a foliar spray from it and will be applying this once per week when the lights go out!!
I've done some lollipopping and defoliation to just leave to top bud sites and have topped them one last time. I'll probably flip them in 2 to 3 more weeks when this food has been depleted then I'll switch to the flowing amendments Bloom and Bloom 2.
See you next week for another update!! πππ€
That's interesting grow, mate.
Exactly I was looking for after watching too much Canuck's videos :-)
Happy growing will watch with interest as I am looking for same fertilizers in near future.
As I understood you following livingsoils Coco schedule?
@@CDF20, Thanks for the follow dude!! π
Top soil amendments are the way forward!! The medium ends up regulating itself so that's a few tick boxes you don't have to worry about!!
I follow the schedule exactly as it says. And I give the same dosage with castings and powdered oyster shells.
I ended up with bugs in my NL grow so it really was 'living' soil!! π
