These seeds came free with purchase. I hadn't intended on popping them but things change and here we are.
Typically, I germinate in soil, in red cups, but after a few misfires, I decided to go with the paper towel method so I could make sure the problem is me and not the seeds.
I soaked the beans in 50/50 RO/H202 for 2 hours and moved them into a damp paper towel that had been disinfected with H202 as well. The container was closed and checked after 24 hours.
Tap root had emerged so I waited another 24 hours and prepared to put in soil.
That's where things went bad.
I had to leave for a family emergency and left the open container sitting on my LED driver in the tent. Nine hours later I returned and ate dinner. That's when I remembered the beans.
The ones with the longest tap roots were pretty dehydrated. I placed them in a damp paper towel for another 10 hours and they seemed to recover.
I transplanted them into red cup and waited for them to emerge from the soil.
Out of the five, one never broke the soil and petered out. I think that was the one with the longest tap root. Another, the 2nd longest struggled along but was able to take hold. The remaining three grew normally.
After the bumpy start, I babied the seedlings along until they'd established themselves. I've been watering once every two days, plain RO pH'd.
The first one to pop up is moving along quickly.
As luck would have it, I managed to find some actual Fast Purple to smoke test.
I like it. Enough that I will probably take cuts to run again after these finish.
Just slow vegging for the time being. The following weeks will be fairly scarce of detail as the plants are Ultimately waiting for room in the veg tent to up-pot to 3-gallons
All four plants are proceeding nicely! I have the light set so the growth is very stacked right now. They are growing fast but I need to restrict some growth to buy time until I have more room in my tent.
Out of the five seeds, one never made it past germination[my fault], three were male, and one was female. Of the three males, I dumped the first one, I took a cut of the short one which has a most amazing smell, and I'll probably dump the third taller one.
I took a cut of the female and I will probably cross the short male to the female at some point to hold onto the genetics.
The one and only female of the bunch went into the flower tent today, 12/31/21.
edit- January 04, 2022 added day 4 pics
Flower is progressing nicely. I've been alternating between full strength Floranova and plain water buffered with calimagic and Recharge. Plant has no distinct smell but there are some sweet grapefruity-citrus notes
She is moving fast... lol lots of stacking. Trichomes everywhere. There's no real distinct smell yet other than "plant" and maybe some hints of citrus-y and spice but real subtle.
According to COPA, this line is generally shorter and stockier.
Buds are filling out nicely and there are a lot. I had originally planned for 70 days but COPA is saying they haven't gone over 8 weeks.
I've dialed the nutes down a tad but since this one leans a bit more sativa, I'm still planning on running it a tad longer if need be.
Things are looking real nice! STILL no smell that gon bring all the custies to the park but I'll overlook that for now because she is a lovely plant and definitely two more weeks😂
This post also brings me to the current progress i.e. the pics were taken last night February 05, 2022
FINISHED IN 57 DAYS
This is the most bud I've gotten from a three gallon post since I started growing again in '21, the Stoopid Fruits I did coming in a close second.
The plant was harvested whole plant, hung upside down for 10 days, branches and large fans removed from main stalk, the dried another 4 days.
No one has been able to peg the taste or smell yet but I get the occasional lemon/orange citrus with a bit of hashy backend. There's a lot going on up front and it's relly hard to pin it down. There's minty/grassy notes as well but those are fading as time passes.
Overall it's a great strain. Nice yield with a very nice cerebral/body high. Well balanced but strong. Initially very strong but levels off into a nice, chill, heady stone that can easily veer off into space land if you smoke a joint to the dome.
I'm keeping it in the stable until I find a suitable replacement.
5/7 strain, highly recommend. Look for the Sativa leaning phenos but watch out for the size, these will do well outdoor no doubt.
Taste/flavor profile is acquired IMO.
@@DoktorMugg, Hey! Sorry for the delayed response.
I got the FPF1's as freebies with some Katsu Ziggy's from DCSE.
Since then I've added Ancient OG F3, Ban Ham OG, Crazy Bitch, and Ancient Goji + a ICC x GSD cross.
I'll do the ICCGSD next and probably play around with the other stuff next year. After this is done, it's Humboldt Seed Co and DJ/JD beans for the rest of the year.
Fast Purple is dropping at DC and GLG soon.
Thanks for stopping by🙌
