Those pistils are getting huge! Started to feel buds forming, when i gently squeeze the pistils, they are feeling firmer. Undid all my LST wires and re tied them to get more light through the canopy. Ive been careful with my watering this week, and given no nutes atall. I will resume nutes on the next feed, using half the amount i was before. Considering how many errors i have made since day 1, i couldnt be happier with the progress! Im counting the days now, i cant wait to harvest these ladies!!!!

Pre-germed a seed and placed it about 2cm deep into Canna Terra Professional Plus soil, approximately 12inchs below a 240W HPS light. Watering around 0.1 liters a day. The seedling has yet to emerge from the soil. Am I doing anything wrong? At what point should I start worrying?

Hi. Once your tap root came out you then placed it 2cm below the surface and covered the seed with soil. You would have been best off then giving it a little spray then leave it in a dark warm place, the ground needs to be moist not damp or your seed will drown. I'm not a fan off starting them off under a hps light as I feel they dry out the soil to fast while germinate.

Look like a little heat/light stress by the way the leaves are curling up and look slightly bleached but hard to tell for sure with you light on in the picture. I would raise you light or lower the intensity for a week or so. Let her grow a little before full sun.....I hope this helps...Good luck

Can anyone confirm that this curling up is due to overwatering? I don't see any yellow leaves that would indicate overheating. But I read it could also be a nitrogen defeciency? One pic is upside down, I wasn't stoned taking the pic, honest πŸ‘€

It could be heat stress. Doesn't look like a N problem. Also might be the roots have outgrown your pot.

Another week, another question lol eh knowledge is power 😝 Just want my first grow to be a success 🀞 Am I doing LST correctly? I've tied it down near the top of the main stem. Should I be tying the smaller stems too, to separate the canopy more?

Yes. Next time, fill your pots right up to the top, this will provide more room for roots and the more roots, the bigger the plant. Plus, the soil is the cheapest part of any grow, so why skimp on this vital ingredien?

This morning I noticed one of my ladies has wilted quite badly, but the other is perfectly healthy. They get the same amount of water/nutrients/light. I cant understand why one is wilted but the other isnt. I included a pic of the healthy lady for reference.

Nitrogen/nutrient toxicity would be my diagnosis, as well as being exhausted. Each plant is a law unto itself, no two plants will ever require the exact same conditions/feeding/watering. Also, 24/0 is not what plants need, they need sleep/a dark period to complete their photosynthetic cycle and have a correctly functioning metabolism, but the good news is that it is never too late to switch to 18/6. Cannabis can only grow so much during any 24 hour period and this growth tops out at about the 18 hour mark, meaning running your lights any longer than 18 hours is basically a waste of electricity, therefore even 20/4 or 22/2 or 19/5 or 21/3 is also pointless. At this stage I would be giving just plain water for the next 10 days before resuming feeding with half strength nutrients. Trying to flush the soil with excessive amounts of water will just make things worse, as this will just release even more nutrient salts from the soil, increasing the nitrogen/nutrient toxicity effect.... possibly killing the plant. From the very green colour of your plants, I would guess you are possibly feeding them too often. In soil, you should be feeding every third irrigation, that is ..... plain water/plain water/ feed/plain water/plain water/feed, so that your plants are only getting nutrients every 10-14 days (roughly). Also when giving water, you must give enough until there is run off/water coming out of the bottom of the pots. This serves two purposes, firstly, that the substrate is moisten from top to bottom, which is vital for root growth and secondly, it helps to prevent the build up of nutrient salts in the substrate/soil to toxic levels, which seems to be what has happened with your plant. Also watering deeply and thoroughly every few days is much better than watering little amounts often, which just causes salts to build up. Waiting until the top 3-5cm have dried out again is when you know that it is time to water your plants again, deeply and to run off. I have found that half strength nutrients is usually plenty strong enough, especially when it comes to autos. Lifting the light while this plant recovers may also help in its quest to resume health. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Hey, there are few reasons why things go purple. Could be because of rooms temperatures, light stress or LST. Also some strains purple and get more coloured as time goes on. Their is one deficiency that can cause some purple blushing on stems and that's Phosphorous. given your feeding amounts I doubt it is that. In some of your pictures on your diary it looks as if the plants may have a bit of light stress, It comes out as mini yellow tips on the new growth. I don't think it is Nitrogen deficiency that also shows a yellow tips as the plants are so dark green, Maybe even to much nitrogen. Side note, If you can lower your temps a bit at night and during the day if possible. 24-26c is ideal and 28max. 31 all around is hot hot with only 25% RH. But if its all you can do with what you got it will be ok. its just fine tuning the numbers. This is a good little read of why things purple as well. Could be of some insight to your situation. https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-should-you-worry-about-purple-or-red-cannabis-stems-n1311 Good Luck and Happy Growing!

Around 60% of my lady has turned yellow. I'm almost certain it's not due to watering, and I've only given 1 half dose of nutes in the last week. Any ideas? Repost cus forgot to attach to diary

I think you need a nice all around feed. If that bloom formula you are feeding doesn’t have a good source of Nitrogen - I’d find one. You don’t wanna go overboard but I’d feed a nice even feed like 1:1:1 or 1:1:2. You still have some time left on this so a boost of nitrogen won’t be a big deal. My bet is you switched to a flowering formula too quick. You still need nitrogen at good amounts thru first couple weeks of flower, and still small doses after that. Good luck

@Y0ink, Yeah I'm a complete noob, so I'm probably a little overgenerous with the water. Ive noticed the leaves are starting to curl a little, so I will try only watering every 2 days and see if that makes any difference. Fingers crossed 🀞

Nice grow. Switch to led mate. With all respect to HPS they days are counted as LED taking an advantage. Also, would like to ask you about INTENSE NUTRIENTS DIRT are measuring EC/PPM ? If not then DIRT range is not the best to use and you can use ORGANIX range instead. I did my two last grows with INTENSE ORGANIX and very very impressed with results and no need EC or ppm

Hey bro looking good for a first try. Some advice if I may to help out, Cannabis plants when growing in veg and early flower, We want to avoid having large temperature swings between lights on and lights off. At this stage it will cause the plants to stretch a lot we do not want that. Once we past weeks 4 to 6 of flower we want to then allow for more than 10 degrees between lights on and lights off as at this stage it will instead signal the plants to put more energy into the budding process and resin production. It is all about exploiting the genetic response of the plant to stresses. In veg and early flower, it will stretch, Once that growth is finished it will instead want to produce large flower clusters to make seed in or get as sticky as it can to attract pollen to it successfully. The better we understand the growth cycle of the cannabis plant in general the more we can exploit it to our benefit. One other thing, I find 24/7 excessive for autos and even veg for clones or seedlings. The plants photosynthesize when the lights are on and do most of their growth when the lights are off. I find 20/4 to be optimal with a 30 minute sunset prior to lights off to help the plants fall asleep right away. Generally cannabis plants take 2 hours to fall asleep. If you do not have them already get yourself a PAR meter and a thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 62 MAX. These 2 items will really help you get the most out of your lights onto your plants without overdoing it. If you got a minute check out my 200 light 7,000 plant diary and follow my profile. Do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Happy growing friend!
