I'm back from a long hiatus and some person issues that life tends to throw at us unexpectedly.
So after a year, I'm back and running Barneys Farm Strawberry Lemonade.
I have been sitting on these seeds for about 3 years with no issues germinating.
I placed in a shot glass of spring water for 14 hrs. and a paper towle for 12 on a heat matt. Then I direct sow to a 70/30 coco/perlite mix with mykos and azos mixed in.
Its coming into winter here in central Virginia, USA. Temp in the tent is 78°F with 57% Humidity. Popped the surface after 48 hrs.
The next journal will be as in veg. To my understanding this strain is a cross of a lemon og which i believe is a cross of lemon skunk and an OG kush then crossed with a strawberry which BF hasn't really specified if is a typical strawberry cough/diesel. But due to Sativa dominant description it would lead me to believe it is a strawberry cough/diesel strain.
Coming along. Nothing interesting to report about growth yet.
To note, I am only using 4 different nutrients for the entire grow. Bio-Bizz Grow & Bloom, General Organic/Hydroponics CalMag+ & Kool Bloom. I will be using Mykos & Azos along with URB for the beneficials. I have learned over my time that less is more and the need for 10 different nutrients is bump.
2nd and 3rd nodes have appeared. I've upped the nutes and dropped the ph from 6.5 to 6.3. She took the first dose of nutes and ph change well with out leaves weirding out. This leads me to believe she will be a heavy eater. I will be following a feed, feed, water regimen. Currently it's feed, water until week 4 of veg.
Barneys Farm has never let me down on quality and germination with any of there strains. So far I'm 100% germination rate even with 5year old stock. I just wish I could order strait from them here in the US instead of going through a 3rd party seed bank. Maybe 1 day.
She is growing well. I topped her and took her set true leafs. Other than that nothing really standing out as far as issues. She has fat leafs that are indicative of her Indica liniage.
She is growing rapidly now. I topped her once last week and at the start of this week I topped her again. I removed all the nodes below the topping and Fim'ed the top most nodes. I am starting the LST this week as well. I left all of her fan leaves as they are her vital nutrient stores. You can definitely smell her when you open the tent. She that fresh scent going on, reminiscent of kush.
She is turning out. I did have some issues with my ph pen not working right and ended up having too low of ph levels. I flushed the soil and now hopefully we will be back on track.
I started her training and currently she is topped into 4 mains. Once she recovers from the ph swing I will be topping her again.
She is back on track with the ph issue last week. There was some crud in the cupplor on the ph pen that was off setting the readings. The ph was dropped to 5.2 originally so I flushed with strait 7.0 water to get it back 5.9 then fed her with a 6.7ph feed to get the medium to 6.4, where she stabilized and started positive growth again.
This week I added UBR organics wich is a hummic/ beneficial to help stabilize her recovery and replenish the beneficial. This product works wonders.
I topped her again and now she is out to 8 mains. Next week I will transplanting her to her flower pot. It is an Aero Pot.
I moved her over to her 7 gallon pot this week. I used mykos and azos with a small addition of great white mycoryza to move her rooting process along with no shock.
My ph pen started acting up again so I'm currently waiting on a new on in the mail. The current one is about 7 years old so it kicking the bucket is expected. It just happens at the least opertune times.
I will be switching her to flower next week after I see positive growth. She is mainline out to 8.
I did the last bit of training this week to ste her final structure. I did some research and it's said that she stretches 100% so she should turn out a nice size.
She is now showing stigmas in her 2nd week of flower.
I gave her a dose of cal mag only for her water cycle.
She is stretching out nicely, I decided to bush sher out to help with her secondary sites.
