End of second week went well, late bloomer is starting to gain some size.
This grow is running in conjunction with my GSC grow. I Chose to do a separate diary because this strain is a sativa where the GSC is an indica and won't take as long.
Medium is:promix hp, gia green AP 4-4-4 and grow green worm castings. I packed the medium around an empty solo cup and the space where the solo cup left I put just straight promix hp. I did this so I didn't, nutrient burn the roots. I know GG AP is slow release but I didn't want to chance it.
These girls are coming along quite strong. One of them is getting pretty big at 6". The other one is my runt who sprouted a couple days late but she seems to be growing healthy, just a tad on the small side.
Used cal mag plus mid week.
Will top dress middle of this week with a mix of GG all purpose 4-4-4, GG bloom and worm castings.
Flowering started mid week of week 4. Top dressed 2 days before pre flowering with gaia AP, Gaia Power bloom and worm castings. Watered with calmag plus (recommended amounts for flower) ph to 6.3 using r/o water.
My main lady is stretching out a lot with a ton of flower sites. My runt is about 6 inches tall but flowering heavy.
This one is coming a bit late as I am about half way through week 6.
The girls are doing well, i top dressed with gaia greens power bloom and have been watering them with cal mag every other day with R/O water ph'd from 6.0 to 6.5.
Well my runt has finally started to climb. Both ladies are looking good, lots of bud sites, using LST to open then up a bit.
My runt was showing signs of either light burn or nute burn. So I rained the light (I'm using slow release dry amendments so if it is nute burn I just have to ride it out).
It's looking a little better since I raised the light though.
Growing good, my runt of the litter has finally stretched. Minor nute burn on her but nothing catastrophic. Just some crispy tips. Buds are growing well, I opened both up by applying a little LST to the flower stage (hind site I should have done it through out, but that'll have to wait for the next grow). Pistols are starting to change colour, all in all I'm pretty happy.
Feeding and watering are the same as my GSC grow because I'm doing it simultaneously.
So far these girls are not growing taller anymore but they are starting to fill out quite a bit. They are really packing on buds, not only on the main stem but every branch is starting to fill up.
This week I just used calmag+. Next week I'll top dress with power bloom and maybe hit it with a tea for some faster acting nutes.
My runt (who is not a runt anymore) is showing signs of minor nitrogen burn (crispy tips) but its been like that since week 2 of flower and it is very slow to progress.
These girls are coming along.
First day of this week (which is a Wednesday),
I top dressed with Gaia Green Power bloom and worm castings.
Buds are getting nice and fat.
This week went well. No big issues. Slight cal mag deficiency is starting so I'll hit the plant with calmag every other water for a couple days.
I am happy with the progress.
The week was going fine at the start. I think I may have stressed out my runt of this batch a little too much and she started growing nunners. At first it was just on or two that I picked out. On the last day of the week I noticed a full on pollen sack. At that point I made the call to chop everything down before it could take effect.
Both plants were at 10 weeks of flower and a couple days into the 11th week so they were within the harvest window anyway. Both have frosty trichomes, I was waiting for the amber to show on the buds but this isn't a loss.
I chopped them down, did a very simple wet trim (just fan leaves and some bigger crows feet), picked out any visible nanners and hung them in my dry room.
Looking back, some key mistakes I made with this grow:
1. I didn't defoliate during veg and tried to make up for it during flower - this one is my biggest mistake. Lesson learned.
2. I should have started LST earlier during veg. - I only did LST during the flower portion to have light penetrate the canopy because I didn't defoliate.
I'll write up a harvest report once my dry is done in 10-14 days.
Great day time smok. Uplifting and energizing, this bud will make any chore seem fun. Interesting mind high, very clear thought with excellent introspection. Great for puzzling out complex tasks in fascinating ways.
Very little burnout. Almost no burnout, in fact.
I am very happy with the way this turned our.
I emergency harvested these girls because one grew a pollen sack, and it burst. FML. They were ready to come down anyway; I just wanted a little more amber tirch's. I dried some with a somewhat heavy wet trim, and some I hung full on the branch, no wet trim. Just a little experiment. Most buds from this harvest dried for 2 weeks (some a dried for a week and a half). Put into glass Mason jars and cured for 4 weeks.
