This week all is well in my indoor garden. Humidity is under control since I began venting to outside air. Temps and pH are good, and I changed nutes again after 14 days. The girls are really drinking a lot, especially my favorite plant, Vortex #1, which is consuming nearly 3 l/day. I did a little defoliation and removal of tiny buds near the bottom of the stems and took off a few fan leaves that were blocking light to buds.
I'm still flowering under a 13/11 schedule, and I modified the far red schedule slightly so that it now comes on right when the main lights go off, and it stays on for 15 minutes after lights out. The crappy (but not cheap) Ulilitech power strip I got from Lowes crapped out one afternoon and popped it's cheap-ass little circuit breaker when it had about 6 amps going through it, despite that it is rated for 15A. The result was a few hours of darkness but the plants don't seem to have been too bothered by it. I'm using a heavy duty extension cord as a temporary measure, but I'm going to modify the panel to use some real outlet boxes because an uninterrupted supply of power is mission critical. All lights are now at max height, giving me about 73" from floor to COBs. This week I rearranged the tent and added a tower fan to move some more air around.
The tent is full! This week I included stand-alone pics of my plants, taken during the middle of Week 10 at F28 and at the end of Week 10 at F32. Vortex #1 continues to lead the pack in terms of fragrance (still very sweet floral with a hint of citrus) and flower development. The BLTxBW plant is doing well and has lots of developing buds, but the aroma is just starting to show up. Bagseed #1is the frostiest of the bunch, and all 3 bagseed plants are now giving a nice funk. I had sticky arms when I came out of the tent after adjusting some fans!
@OldCoolSativa, I am by no means a pro, but I usually start lst week 3,4, maybe 5, so by flower stretch her branching is already moved and stable in the new way I have it growing. I would say just get in there!! You never know till you do, but it's a lot harder when she starts getting woody. Stresses em more I think. Your gonna love it!!
@HydroKitty, I've already done a little defol but should probably do some more this week. The internode spacing is small enough that I don't think I need much LST yet. But since I've never done LST before, I could be wrong. π Thanks for stopping by.
Ideal day temp is 25C and the bigger they get the less humidity they like - the difference between the day and night temperatures will affect the distance between the nodes - all look nice and green π
Nice grow Bro. Regarding ur week 5 update, I bought my whole setup from kingbriteled, you shouldn't have any problem with them. If you use 2 different fixture for veg and flo why didn't u choose 4000k and 2700k? Just curious.I stopped at cobs' basics but will research some info about adding 730nm diodes, maybe I'll add some for the next grow. Keep us update man!
@Nutria, I just looked on Ebay for 730nm and found a USA seller. Specs are 3W 20mm Star LED, 720-730nm, 1.5V - 1.7V, 600 mA - 700 mA, 40 LM, 120 degree viewing angle. I'm going to run them in a single 3-ft strip in the middle of my tent between my two lights. I plan to turn them on 5 minutes before lights out and turn them off 15 minutes after lights out. This should allow me to use more light during the flower cycle. I plan to go 600W 12/12 for the first week of flower or until the girls reveal themselves. Then I'll ramp up to 13.5/10.5 for most of the flowering period, then back it down to 12/12 for the last week or two to finish them off.
@@Kkkkkk, thanks for the heads up. I have a couple circulation fans in there and all the plants leaves move around in the breeze a bit so I think ventilation is OK for now.
I have a similar problem. I am on week 6. A bit slow for sure in the beginning. Temps are usually above 26 and up to 32 someone time. But my plants are stubby and wide. But since this is my first grow, I thought maybe it has to do with the strain? Can someone with experience check out my grow? thanks man.
Your guy is right.
The temp is way to low!
You need constant 25 grad celsius.
And your air humandity was to low, thats why you leafs looking squishy.
But at all it looks very good.
Wish you much luck and awaiting interessted what you get out. ;)
Keep on. ;)
@KonopCh, I found them in bags of weed from a Deadhead friend, reportedly grown in Western Massachusetts. They germinated easily...hardly any duds. I germinated them in Rapid Rooters.
@BigDaddyK, good question. It has been pretty high, like upwards of 80% at the end of the day. Condensation on tent walls, etc. Today I finally set up a blower and charcoal filter and humidity is down around 60%. Running a dehumidifer in the basement to help keep things under control.
hey man nice grow. i tried a bagseed in my grow, it's in my current journal. it was a herm :(glad you got away with it. this is twice i had bag seed herms so be careful using bagseed in with real genetics. i don't think my other girls were effected and i got some wax off the 4-5week old herm so not the end of the world. nice job though keep growin'
