Day 0: Seeds directly into Rockwool
Day 7: 2 Runtz Auto, 3 Wedding Cake, 2 Peyote Cookies
Moved Rockwool cubes with germinated seeds into 1gal/2gal fabric pots
Room has been swapped to a 480w full spectrum LED and kept one 480w Blurple both being ran on a rotary light mover, plans include upgrade lighting to the next tier of output and getting a raspberry pi and introduction of diy automation(nutrients/pH/EC/vpd) and monitoring systems that are all accessible via smartphone. Raspberry Pi will arrive this month for that.
Update: 5th, Dec
Room had to be dissembled, I will adapt, longest day of the year is 13 hours with shortest being 10.5hrs so outside is my flower room and using the 5x6 storage room as temporary veg area under the 480w LED until I have the all clear and my 3x3 tents arrive.
6x10 flower room dissembled but still have veg cupboard and can use outside for flower (maybe), got stoned and put 2 seed in one Rockwool cube so no idea what's what or if it will pop at all. 3x3 tent on the way for a small flower or veg chamber
Note to self: Double check all Rockwool cubes, I found 3 seeds in cubes in storage after thinking about how I put 2 seeds in one cube when I was trying to hard to be organised and concluded I am hopeless....
So I underestimated the summer heat and killed 2 wedding cake sprouts via underwatering, in the end all 3 Runtz Autos survived and the 2 Peyote Cookies as well so final seedling tally at this point is :
1xWedding Cake(The strain I was most excited about)
2xPeyote Cookies
3xRuntz Auto
Set up a 1Mx1Mx2M tent as veg area, the cupboard wasn't a climate controlled space, I may add my greenhouse flowering plants as a footnote, I live where longest day is 13.5 hours and with only 8 hours direct light in summer due to terrain the greenhouse is kinda perfect for flowering smaller plants for monthly harvests.
Not much happening, the 430w LED in a 1x1x2m tent is much too intense so need to buy Coco specific nutrients, vegging out everything to at least 1ft to see what the growth structure is like.
Will be taking clones from Banana Dance soon for the first flowering for structure inspection, the seedlings are going slow at the moment but they are also still building root mass, I always have a pot of pure roots by the time I flower and keep them bottom fed at all times letting the salt accumulation stay on top.
Going to be moving the plants outside occasionally to take advantage of true sunlight and give them a bit of hardening.
I have so many plans and possibilities but unless I get everyone who lives here on board it's just going to be a hobby that barely pays for itself when it could be the road to financial recovery after the destruction lockdowns and covid has wrought on all our lives.
