I topped the plant this week but I don't know how I did it but I cut off one the branches that would be a main cola as well. I was going to wait another week but since I only have the one plant to fill out the tent I wanted to get started as quick as possible. Looks like I'll have to add another week of veg.
Looks to be recovering from the topping incident. Next week I will top some of the colas again and do a little training. Still just using straight water and not adding any nutrients yet. I've got one plant in a 10 gallon pot of Fox Farms potting soil so I think I skip them until I start to flower.
Before and after pictures. I topped a couple of the colas and tied down some of the longer ones. I cleaned up some of the leaves under the canopy as well. I also noticed that I had my 600watt light going at 100% so I backed that down to 75% and raised it a little cause I noticed some of the tips are getting fried.
Started seeing some yellowing at the tips. At this point I am still just watering, I haven't started any nutrients. My thought here was I've got one plant in a 10 gallon pot full of Fox Farms Ocean Mix so I don't wait to load up on the Nitrogen just yet but I will keep an eye the yellowing.
Bud sites a filling in. Need to keep an eye on how close the light gets to the top colas. Don't want them to get burned. I am thinking of lolly-popping this plant to make sure the lower buds get enough light. I didn't use a scrog net this time because I wanted to be able to move the plant but I'm starting to think that was a mistake. I see some of the lower leaves are not getting enough light.
Buds are starting to put on noticeably. Tried to tie down a couple colas to open up the canopy a little to get some more light down into the plant. This far into flower I don't want to lollipop these. I will keep an eye on the under carriage to make sure there are no issues. Thinking about trimming off some of the fan leaves but I see different opinions so I will leave them for now.
Buds are filling out. Starting to see some signs of deficiencies. I've been adding cal-mag for the last couple of weeks but I'm starting to think this might be a Phosphorous deficiency. I looked at a bunch of YouTube videos but I can't make heads or tails of it. I will look to add an extra helping with this week's feedings and see if that helps.
Nutrient deficiency is really kicking in. I usually add the the nutrients every other watering but I went back to back with everything but the Grow Big and I upped the Tiger Bloom so we'll see how the new leaves look in a day or two. Hopefully that will correct what is going on. The buds are putting on weight but I can't help but think they would be doing even better once I get the nutrients dialed in. This happen doing my last grow as well but I was just using water the last two weeks of that grow. Next time I'm going to start with the Cal/Mag as soon as I start flowering. I'll start looking at the trichomes next week but I think I'm at least two weeks from harvesting, probably 3.
These pictures are from 3.20.22. I was having a tough time with what I thought was a nutrient deficiency. It might actually be due to the ph being off so much. I'll need to do a better job at dialing it in. This is the second grow in a row that I've had this issue. It wasn't a problem with the 3 grows prior but I was taken water straight from the tap where before I would let the water sit a couple days before using it.
I had a plant in a 10 Gallon pot that produced 909 wet grams. After a couple weeks the dry weight was 346 grams. The issues I had with this grow are more to do with me than the strain. Need to figure out if I'm having a ph balance issue.
