~MERINGUE by DUTCH PASSION~ Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This strain by Dutch Passion is one of my all time favorite strains that I've cultivated previously with phenomenal results so I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! I'm going to things a bit different this time around. I have a brand spanking new AC Infinity 4x4 tent and was just given one of HLG's newest lights for 2022, The Blackbird! I've got this 600w monster hooked up to my Trolmaster Hydro X Controller so I've got full control over timing, dimming and Sunrise/Sunset. This beauty is going to annihilate the 4x4 for sure! 😎👍 I'm going to grow her all by herself and veg her for around 70-90 days after witch I'll install a trellis net in the tent and spread her out. Once she's recovered from her 'net training' I'll flip her to 12/12 and hang on! 🤪 It's ALWAYS been a blast for me growing strains from Dutch Passion because their genetics are extremely stable which allow me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth and they REWARD you with some of the most EPIC cultivars you've ever grown! 👍👍👍 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~STRAIN INFORMATION**~ ~Unique USA genetics~ ~Very sweet aroma and fruity flavors~ ~Compact buds with one of the highest THC levels~ ~Quality of the flowers is top-notch with an amazing bag appeal~ Meringue has a very sweet aroma and fruity flavor Meringue is a hybrid indica/sativa strain with a complex fruity aroma that leans to the tangy side of the spectrum but a bit sweeter. Underneath the tray was placed a Mars Hydro Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where it stayed until a tap root emerged. ~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellet that was hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph. ~Once roots emerged from the Jiffy Pellet she was transferred to a 1qt plastic pot. As she grows I'll be moving her into larger pots along the way up until she's in her 10g fabric pot. ~Grown in a 10g fabric pot filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and fed Dutch Pro nutrients throughout the entire grow with de-chlorinated water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8. ~19/5 light cycle for vegetation, then 12/12 to flower with supplemental UVA added during the last weeks of flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation. ~ Supplemental co2 provided throughout vegetation and flower - monitored and controlled by an AutoPilot APC8200 co2 controller. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 12/8- Today the DP Meringue got placed into a 2qt plastic pot that I had previously filled with some amended coco/perlite. Before I placed her Jiffy pellet into her new pot, I coated the hole with a tbsp. of Xtreme Gardening's Mycos which I love using! After putting her in the pot and making her snug and comfy, I watered her with just 6oz of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner added and then ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉. After I watered her I placed a clear Solo cup over her to help her acclimate to her new digs. I'll remove the cup as soon as I see she's not stressed and is remaining perky. 12/10- Yesterday I removed the clear Solo cup from her as she's looking great, a little small right now but otherwise she's a winner! 😍👍 Today was basically just checking on her as at this stage she's not drinking much. I have the RH in the tent set to 75% and with the temp's running in the mid 70's℉ my VPD numbers are real close to being ideal, currently running at .88-.90 but I'd like them to be closer to a .68-.70 during this early vegetation period. 12/12- Yesterday I watered her with 4oz of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fishhead Farms Fishsh!t added, and then ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉. She's looking great and is now approaching 3" in height and is maintaining a beautiful green coloration to her leaves, of which she's sprouting her second true set now! 12/14- I watered her this morning with the usual 0.1g of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner added and then ph'd to 6.3 @ 74℉. When I checked on her today she was still moist so all I had to do was fill the humidifier and watch her grow! 12/17- I gave her just a little water yesterday as her pot's retaining moisture pretty well. I upped the wattage on the HLG 650R to 35% which equates to 230w at the wall. Today all I did was fill the humidifier with distilled water and watched her grow! 🤩 12/19- Today I watered her 0.1g of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t and 1 tsp/g Unsulfured Molasses added which was ph'd to 6.3 @ 74℉. I'm only watering her every 2-3 days as she's in a 1qt. plastic pot that tends to hold the moisture way longer than a fabric pot. She is really starting to take off now, a sure sign her roots are beginning to get well developed and I'll be watching for any signs of roots emerging from the drain holes, at which time she'll go into a 1g plastic pot to continue vegging. 12/21- Today I watered her with 0.1g of straight de-chlorinated water which was ph'd to 6.3 @ 74℉, otherwise she's on autopilot! The game plan with this photoperiod is to veg her in my 4x8 with a run of Autoflowers until either they're finished, or she gets too big and crowds the Auto's. Either way, she'll eventually move into my 4x4 and be trellised to fill out the tent completely before I flip her into flower. This is going to be a very BIG plant!😍💚 12/24- Yesterday her medium was still moist and she still had some weight when lifted so I skipped watering. Her medium was nice and moist so I skipped watering and let her do her thing! Today, I noticed that her shade leaves were a little 'droopy' so I checked her medium, which was fine. When I checked the underside of her 1qt. plastic pot I could see some small root tips starting to protrude which let me know her loss of vigor is most likely due to being root bound. As a result, I transplanted her into a 3g plastic pot that I had previously filled with amended medium and which was also 'pre-wetted' using de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner added, then ph'd to 6.4 @ 71℉. to start the microbes working! When I placed her into the new pot, I first lined the hole that I made for her with 2 tbsp. of Xtreme Gardening's Mycos root stimulator and I'm really hoping to see an improvement in her vigor in the next few days as she gets acclimated to her new digs! 12/28- Yesterday she was still a bit droopy and her 3g pot still had some weight to it so I left her alone. Today, I went ahead and gave her a 'lite' watering so as not to over saturate her medium. I added 1.2ml/g of Dutch Pro Silica and 3.8ml/g of Dutch Pro Root Enhancer to the water which was then ph'd to 6.0 @ 74℉. She seems to be beginning to perk up and recover from being upset over being root bound and I'm sure as the days pass she'll be just fine! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This strain by Dutch Passion is one of my all time favorite strains that I've cultivated previously with phenomenal results so I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! I'm going to things a bit different this time around. I have a brand spanking new AC Infinity 4x4 tent and was just given one of HLG's newest lights for 2022, The Blackbird! I've got this 600w monster hooked up to my Trolmaster Hydro X Controller so I've got full control over timing, dimming and Sunrise/Sunset. This beauty is going to annihilate the 4x4 for sure! 😎👍 I'm going to grow her all by herself and veg her for around 70-90 days after witch I'll install a trellis net in the tent and spread her out. It's been a month since this pretty lady popped out of the ground and she is looking perfect! Since being topped for the first time 3 days ago, she has two new shoots that are emerging and overall she's extremely healthy with her vigor returning after being transplanted. 12/31- Today was a 'dry day and all I did was refill the humidifier and watched her grow! 😎💚 It's been a little over four weeks since she was planted in her amended medium and it's time to give the microbes a good feed so they can continue to provide her with all the macro and micro nutrients she needs so, yesterday she got a good watering with 0.25g of de-chlorinated water with GreenGro's Veg, Green Aminos, Natures Brix and Granular Myco added to it @ 1.5 tsp/g and then ph'd to 6.4 @ 73℉. 01/02- Today I watered her from the bottom with 0.25g of de-chlorinated water to which I added 3ml/g of Earth Juice OilyCann cal-mag to prevent any Cal-Mag issues before they arrive. I also have the HLG 650R set 38" above canopy and it's set at 60% power which is being controlled by a Trolmaster HydroX controller. The tent environment is on point with temp's running 70 when the light's off and 74℉ with the light on. I'm keeping the RH at 60% right now. Finally, I've been keeping the VPD in the tent running 0.85 - 1.05 which I'm happy with! 01/04- She's been doing well getting watered every other day and yesterday she received 0.5g of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner which was then ph'd to 6.3 @ 72℉. I watered today with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water that was ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉, Otherwise all that was left to do was to give her pot a 1/4 turn, refill the humidifier and watch her grow! 1/7- Today was a feed/water day and I decided to switch her over to Dutch Pro nutrients. I gave her 0.5g of de-chlorinated water with Dutch Pro Multi Total @ 3.8ml/g, Take Root @ 3.8ml/g, Silica Von Liebig @ 1.5ml/g and Grow A & B @ 10ml/g each after which was then ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉ ending with a 1.2 EC 1/9- Yesterday I decided to provide her own private accommodations and moved her into my brand spanking new AC Infinity 4x4 equipped with HLG's latest quantum board LED light... The 'Blackbird' which draws just over 600w at the wall on full power. I have it wired into my Trolmaster Hydro X light controller and have it set to 60% power on a 19/5 cycle, hung 36" above her canopy. Along with a 18" Hurricane fan mounted on the wall I have a 10" fan on the floor providing ample air circulation. The exhaust chores are being handled by a brand new setup provided to me by Mars Hydro, who is now one of my sponsors. I'm using their 6" inline fan with Digital Controller coupled with one of their Carbon Filters and it's working superbly, keeping temp's in the 4x4 a constant 74℉. I'm also running a humidifier in the tent, keeping the RH at 55-60% to help keep the VPD in a favorable range. She was also watered yesterday with 0.5g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉. She's looking fantastic and I'm starting to see an acceleration in her growth telling me that her root system is getting established in the new medium! 1/11- I watered/fed her today with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water that had added to it Dutch Pro Grow 'A' & Grow 'B', Take Root, Multi Total and Von Liebig's Silica giving a final ppm of 1000, which I then ph'd to 6.2 @ 72℉. She's really looking phenomenal and has been topped twice along with a topping of the extra new growth after it developed a couple of nodes. At her current rate of growth I anticipate that she'll be ready to transplant into a 10g fabric pot which she will finish out in within the next few weeks. I plan on keeping her in veg for 80-90 days if possible to allow her to grow before I trellis her and spread her out in the 4x4 where the goal is to cover it completely! I've done just the minimal amount of LST on her at this time but her two main shoots have overtaken the rest of her so I'll have to start to coax them down a bit with a little training! 1/18- She was still fairly heavy when lifted today and looks just as happy as can be so I'll wait until tomorrow when I'll give her another feed to start off her seventh week in veg. The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. I'm going to things a bit different this time around. I have a brand spanking new AC Infinity 4x4 tent and was just given one of HLG's newest lights for 2022, The Blackbird! I've got this 600w monster hooked up to my Trolmaster Hydro X Controller so I've got full control over timing, dimming and Sunrise/Sunset. This beauty is going to annihilate the 4x4 for sure! 😎👍 I'm going to grow her all by herself and veg her for around 70-90 days after witch I'll install a trellis net in the tent and spread her out. Today I watered/fed her with 1g of de-chlorinated water with Dutch Pro Grow 'A' and 'B', Multi Total, Take Root and Von Liebig's Special Silica added to achieve a ppm of 1100 which equates to a 2.0 EC. After watering I gather and measure the runoff which was 1/4g with a ph of 6.8 @ 71℉ and had 900-1000 ppm's. I've also increased the power to the HLG Blackbird to 60% which is pulling 365w at the wall and have it hung 32" above canopy. I've been monitoring her leaf temperatures and they're running 73-74℉ which is perfect! 1/21- I'm watering every other day with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd it to 6.2 @ 74℉ and feeding her twice a week right now and a VERY happy girl she is! 1/23- I watered/fed yesterday with 1g of de-chlorinated water with Dutch Pro Grow 'A' and 'B', Multi Total, take Root and Von Liebig’s Special Silica. After watering I collected the runoff which was 1/3g and checked the ph and ppm's which were 6.8 ph and 700 ppm's @ 71℉. I'll be transplanting her into a 10g fabric pot at the end of this week after which she'll REALLY start to take off. 1/25- I transplanted her into a 10g Wraxly fabric pot yesterday that I filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium. When I pulled her out of the 2 1/2g plastic pot she was in her roots were MASSIVE, circling the entire pot. I roughed up the outer portions of her roots, gave the roots a generous coating of Extreme Gardening's Mycos and placed her in the 10g pot after which I watered her in with 1g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2 @ 74℉. I've transplanted the Meringue into a Wraxly 10g pot filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and did some defoliation on her after I was sure she wasn't too stressed from the transplant. When I transplanted her I watered her in pretty well so I let her dry out some today and will pick up on watering/feeding her tomorrow! 😎👍 I'm probably going to let her veg for another two weeks... maybe three before I install the trellis, do a 'lollypop' defoliation on her and then start weaving her through it. Once she's into the trellis and showing zero signs of stress, I'll be putting her in the dark for 24 hrs, then flipping her to a 12/12 light cycle under the HLG Blackbird. 1/28- Yesterday I checked her 10g pot and it was still heavy so she didn't get watered. I instead decided since she was looking a lot better today it would be a good time to defoliate and start training her. I removed all the growth from each of her branches, leaving the last 2-3 nodes from the top. I then, using Engineering Essentials Training Clips, bent the tallest branches down so that the canopy was even. I've got this 600w monster hooked up to my Trolmaster Hydro X Controller so I've got full control over timing, dimming and Sunrise/Sunset. This beauty is going to annihilate the 4x4 for sure! 😎👍 I'm going to grow her all by herself and veg her for around 70-90 days after witch I'll install a trellis net in the tent and spread her out. The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This strain by Dutch Passion is one of my all time favorite strains that I've cultivated previously with phenomenal results so I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! I'm going to things a bit different this time around. I have a brand spanking new AC Infinity 4x4 tent and was just given one of HLG's newest lights for 2022, The Blackbird! I've got this 600w monster hooked up to my Trolmaster Hydro X Controller so I've got full control over timing, dimming and Sunrise/Sunset. This beauty is going to annihilate the 4x4 for sure! 😎👍 I'm going to grow her all by herself and veg her for around 70-90 days after witch I'll install a trellis net in the tent and spread her out. The tent temp and RH remain constant giving perfect VPD numbers! I'm going to things a bit different this time around. I have a brand spanking new AC Infinity 4x4 tent and was just given one of HLG's newest lights for 2022, The Blackbird! I've got this 600w monster hooked up to my Trolmaster Hydro X Controller so I've got full control over timing, dimming and Sunrise/Sunset. This beauty is going to annihilate the 4x4 for sure! 😎👍 I'm going to grow her all by herself and veg her for around 70-90 days after witch I'll install a trellis net in the tent and spread her out. Both HLG 650R's are running full blast pulling 1340w at the wall (1400w at the wall with both 30w UVA lights) and remain at the 30" above canopy they have been at. I'm also now adding supplemental UVA for 4 hours a day in the middle of her light cycle to really drive her trichome production. 4/1- Yesterday when I lifted her pot it still had a bit of weight to it so I checked it with a Hygrometer and determined it could go another day before getting watered/fed again...so I skipped it. Today her she was noticeably lighter so she received a full watering/feed of 2.5g of de-chlorinated water with Dutch Pro Bloom 'A' and 'B', Explode and Von Liebig’s Special Silica added to achieve a ppm of 1400, which equates to a 2.8 EC which was ph'd to 6.4 @ 70℉. 4/3- This lady is a knockout for sure! She's getting some incredible coloration beginning and her trichome production is in high gear now! I gave her 2.5g of de-chlorinated water with Dutch Pro Bloom 'A' and 'B' and Von Liebig’s Special Silica added to achieve a ppm of 1400, which equates to a 2.8 EC which was ph'd to 6.5 @ 71℉. 4/5- Her last water/feed of the week consisted of the usual 2.5g of de-chlorinated water with Dutch Pro Bloom 'A' and 'B', Explode and Von Liebig’s Special Silica added to achieve a ppm of 1400, which equates to a 2.8 EC which was ph'd to 6.4 @ 70℉. I'm going to things a bit different this time around. I have a brand spanking new AC Infinity 4x4 tent and was just given one of HLG's newest lights for 2022, The Blackbird! I've got this 600w monster hooked up to my Trolmaster Hydro X Controller so I've got full control over timing, dimming and Sunrise/Sunset. This beauty is going to annihilate the 4x4 for sure! 😎👍 I'm going to grow her all by herself and veg her for around 70-90 days after witch I'll install a trellis net in the tent and spread her out. The Meringue's trichomes are right where I like them and I'll be shutting down the lights tomorrow and leaving her in the dark for 72 hours @ 64-66℉ to send her trichome production into overdrive. I gave her another 2.5g of de-chlorinated water with 15ml of Yucca extract added and than ph'd to 6.6 @ 69℉ 4/29- Yesterday I went ahead and started her 'dark' period and she'll stay there for three days. 5/1- Like a Phoenix, the Meringue emerged from her 72 hours of darkness looking like a rock star! 🤩 After a photo session I went ahead and pruned all of the large shade leaves and I hung her to dry by cutting off and hanging individual branches, See you all at the 'Harvest'! Growing this strain was such a pleasure! I vegged her for quite a bit at 86 days as I started her along with a dozen Autoflowers that were growing in my 4x8 tent. I wanted to wait until the Auto's finished up so that when I flipped the Meringue into flower I could move her into the 4x8 which has better environmental control, more light and co2 supplementation which I wanted to take advantage of to bring out the full potential of this awesome strain! From germination through the Fourth Week of Veg she grew in my 4x4 under a HLG Blackbird light set to 300W at the wall, on a 19/5 light schedule and was given only de-chlorinated water with FishShit Soil Conditioner added. I then switched her over to Dutch Pro nutrients for the remainder of the grow.She handled up to 1400ppms 2.8 EC of nutrients without skipping a beat and ended up with a marvelous dark maroon coloration with hints of red that were contrasted by the heavy, frosty coating of glistening trichomes she produced throughout the last 5 weeks of her 9 week flower, four of which she received 4 hours a day of supplemental UVA light. Once in the 4x8, I trellised off half of the tent and placed her under it. Once she was acclimated to her new home which only took two days, I flipped her light to 12/12 to induce flowering and sat back to watch the 'show' begin! By Week Two of flower she nearly had half of the 4x8 covered wall to wall! Keep in mind that she does have really wide node spacing so prepare yourself for daily 'leaf tucking' to ensure adequate light penetration through her canopy. All in all she was an absolute joy to grow and provided some of the most beautiful, pungent, dense and sticky flowers that I love so very much! I've cultivated this strain several times now and would recommend it, especially to experienced growers as sometimes she can be a bit finicky. The breeder recommends 30-45 day veg and advertises an 8 week flower. I vegged her for 86 days and flowered her for a full 9 weeks, the last two of which had the light cycle dropped to 10/14 to further induce trichome production (which along with the 72hrs. of dark apparently worked) which is a reminder to you new guy's that Breeder times are not 'cut in stone' and are a 'general recommendation'.
