4 plant SCROG GT100 metre sq 100L tray style NFT 1000W DE HPS (revolution deva) CANNA aqua nutrients 8" extraction, passive intake 1.4*1.4*2.2m tent plant 1: GSC #1 plant 2: GSC #1 plant 3: GSC #2 plant 4: GG4 #1 Cuts are from friends and unverified. Seen the GSC #1 in action which looked textbook GSC. Very shaky start, clones spent a month in rootbound 3" rockwool cubes before going in the NFT, Stunted with lots of dead leaves. Plants were topped once as clones then trained under a trellis net. 0.8 EC during veg Flipped after 3 weeks of veg, around 60% coverage. During week 1 of flower they were defoliated heavily, with most fan leaves being removed. Switched to bloom nutes at @ 1.2 EC on day 10 flower. Some burning on tips on all 4 plants, not sure why.

Defoliated over day 17 and 18, It's pretty hard on the back and wrists so had to take my time. Added a 2nd trellis net (12" and 20" high), would prefer a smaller mesh for the top net to get a nice even cola spacing but ill just get in there with plant ties once the stretch is fully done. Really happy with the air temps I'm getting, there is only passive outside air exchange and my windows are only open a couple of mm. I was expecting summer to be a real bitch and the plan was to run my light at 600w but currently running at 1000w with the extraction fan at 20% and getting 25c canopy temp directly under the light. Depending on how the grow progresses I may consider running the light at 1150w towards the end of flower.

Bumped the EC up to 1.35, would of gone higher but the VPD has increased quite a bit this week due to warmer weather and I don't want to risk burning them. GG4 is starting to pull ahead of both GSC cuts in terms of bud development. The foliage is also lighter in color probably indicating a higher nutrient requirement. Some of the fan leaves on the tallest colas are starting to curl, I think its just because they have grown into the direct airflow of the circulation fan which I try to keep from blowing directly at the plants.

Summer has finally come in full force with outdoor temps in the mid 30s. I went away for a day and had to close the windows for security reasons and my growroom hit 35c/95f that night. Ive switched to vitalink nutes as the grow shop was out of stock of canna, They seem similar enough, started out at 2.5ml of each A+B and it came to 1.4ec but it was climbing quickly so I topped up with water to 1.2ec. Dropped the CalMag as the vitalink has plenty already. A couple of the tallest colas that are out in the open are curling up slightly as you can see in the GG4 photo, as this is only a tiny percentage of the overall plant I'm not going to go to drastic measures to try and fix it. The GSC #2 cut is in the bottom left corner, it's about half the size of the other 3 plants as it grew much slower during veg, you can see in the first photo of the canaopy it barely grew through the 2nd trelis. It just looks like a typical skunk cross at this point, though the healthiest plant in there for sure. The GSC #1 cuts are struggling. The leaf tips are noticably burnt as well as brown patches on the leaves. The new sugar leaves look like basil and very few trichomes on the bud. It looks like it's wanting to throw out of bunch of fox tails any minute too. I don't know if its because it's a particularly fussy strain that requires tighter growing parameters or if theres something else more significant. My best guess is low oxygen in the nutrients. Ive read on forums that with this style of NFT trays once plants get to a certain size the first plants use all the oxygen and starve the plants further down. Until now Ive had the pump restricted because it was noisy but ive removed that as well as added a second pump to agitate the tank for more overall dissolved oxygen. Hopefully this will improve things.

Week 6 now and not much is happening, Weather has improved so it's a bit easier keeping res and tent temps in check. Ive increased the angle of the NFT top tray so it flows faster and started adding 12% H202 every day or two. I think my problems with GSC#1 are most likely caused by low DO so I'm hoping this will make the difference.

Into week 7 and the GG4 is looking amazing, the fattest calyx I have ever seen. All the foliage is still deep green so I'm dropping the EC further to 0.9. The GSC is lagging behind quite a bit and I want to make sure I'm not inhibiting maturation with excess nitrogen. Temps have dropped further still and lights on temps are a comfortable 24-25c.

Into week 8 and this will be the last week ready or not. Light lowered to 750W and nutrients down to 1/4 strength. All the foliage is still a deep green which I can't understand, even the lowest growth has no yellowing leaves in week 8? Ive tested my EC meter against a friends and it gives an accurate reading in EC standard. I've also used the nutrients at less than half what it says on the bottle the entire grow so why does it look like Ive blasted them with nitrogen for 2 months? GG4: They have been fox tailing slightly at the top but nothing too excessive. Looks about ready to chop, mostly cloudy, few clear few amber trichs. GSC#2: Still the nicest looking of the lot, the buds are not massive but incredibly dense. If the smoke is good I'll definitely do this one again. A few more clear trichs than GG4 but lots of cloudy and amber too. GSC#1 (2 plants) The 2 cutting are both from the same plant and in the same system parallel to each other and yet have grown completely differently. Plant #1 appears to of reveged heavily and has lots of brown patches on the leaves, its not very sticky and looks a long way off finishing. Plant #2 looks much better and has mostly cloudy trichs with a few amber. Going to give them a few days then chop I think.

Anyone have any insight as to where im going wrong with the plant in the 3rd photo? It looked like its been reveging for most of the flowering period and the leaves have never been healthy during flowering.

She got very darkgreen leaves and brown tips. Its a Natrium excess. I would recommend to flush her and dont give her any nutrients before she recovers and shows any defiencies. her is a nice page to look onto https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-symptoms-pictures. happy and succesfull growing

Very fickle to grow strains, entirely expected but not ones I would grow in the summer again. Yielded fairly low but could be improved by better plant management for sure.

So i chopped them at the end of week 8, a little early perhaps but I was going away and wanted to get them down and dry beforehand. They were hung to dry over 3-4 days then into tubs to cure. In hindsight I have I need to be way more aggressive lollipopping. I only took the top 25%, the rest of the plant is going into hash as it's just too insubstantial to bother trimming. Also need to first and foremost trust what the plants are saying. I think my preconceived notions on what the EC should be probably handicapped this grow somewhat. End harvest weight was GG4: 198g / 7oz GSC #1: 177g / 6.24oz GSC #1: 170g / 6oz GSC #2: 77g / 2.72oz Will post bubble hash results from the rest of the bud soon. Thanks for following,

It’s not re-vegans at all, so don’t worry about that. Unless there were new branches growing... I cant see any. Just looks like root issues to me, she was taking up to much N. The fan leaves don’t loom like typical N def they look like a P/K problem from he burnt tips and the looks of calcium def. do you use PH down to adjust your feed? What acid is it?

@PharmaZ, There is algae on the top of the rockwool cubes but otherwise no algae, all healthy looking white roots. Do you think it could be clone degradation/senescence? I have no idea of the clones history, they could be 15 generations old. The reason I wonder is I have two clones from the same plant. They are completely symmetrical in the NFT tray and under the light, the environment is as far as I can tell identical so if something is wrong for one plant the other should surely be effected similarly.

@slayer, another wild one... any algae build up in rooter material?

@PharmaZ, Yeah I agree it looks like it to me, thats why the nutes have been so low the entire way. Maybe it was just not low enough...
