Hello, grower brother. A big "Green greet" to you and your outstanding stress training techniques, as well as for some of the most beautiful cannabis "bonsais" I've seen in my life. Your diary is an inspiration, especially because of the quality of your primary stake work and the way you open up the grows to a flat and even growth in light exposure. Fantastic, and there aren't many more praises to give to the work of a true master.
I understand your choice not so much for the yield but for the consistency in those small buds that concentrate light entirely and must have been perfect in terms of quality.
I liked your opinion on the strain La Diva. What I had seen from diaries of this strain and in line with what I developed from Delicious Seeds' autoflowering strains left me very doubtful about cultivating this strain. I thought, without training techniques like the ones you used, that the plants of this La Diva were much more than what Delicious advertised as a pure Indica; more like a Sativa, and from some photos I noticed this strain's tendency to be very unproductive, leaning towards being elongated with little secondary development and a huge space between pairs of main leaves.
In your diaries, it's very well characterized the Mexican nature of this phenotype that you've encountered, the very strong smell, and the way its buds densify.
I'm tempted in the next season to do two cultivars from Delicious: the father El Diavolo and the daughter La Diva, and I'm also very tempted to do a trained growth like what you've masterfully done in your grow.
But I would like to ask a very basic question: does trained growth result in terms of total yield? Is it because doing such flat growths doesn't affect the final quantity? Wouldn't it be a waste of time and resources to do grows with these limits imposed by stress techniques and defoliations? I've always liked to ask friends who are growers with this level of technique if you end up compensating for what you get from plants that are no more than 25 cm? Or are the conditions of this strain what has led you to develop this type of growth? Do you also follow this principle of low-height training with other strains in your grows?
A strong greeting once again, and I would like to continue following you in your "masterpieces."
Hug from Portugal,
João Tomás
