First run ever so wanted to use free bagseed to make sure I knew what I was doing. Only two out of the 11 ended up making it through to flower so kinda regret that but it’s all trial and error and learned so much from mistakes so it won’t happen next time
So first mistake made was transplanting this early. Saw roots coming out the bottoms and thought it was good to go and the roots could have gone a whole 1.5 more weeks imo. Second mistake was the beginning of humidity issues and what eventually lead to overwatering and stunted growth but thankfully no root rot
So added a CO2 bag this week and also a foliar spray and wish I would have just gotten a humidifier instead cause that was the problem. Not enough humidity caused the plants to not be able to drink water properly so they got overwatered which led to nutrients not being absorbed properly. They didn’t really start showing any signs that something was wrong till later though
Plants seem to be doing good and haven’t gotten stressed so I decide they’re good to top. Just took them off with my fingertips but I missed on a couple so that was cool to see the difference between FIM and topping. Please make sure your humidity is good everyone and don’t overwater. It started to obviously affect the growth of the plants from this point on imo
Transplanted and at this point I wasn’t sure what was slowing down the growth because I didn’t think humidity was the problem. Stupid me. 5 plants started showing male parts at this point so down to 6 by the 14th😐😐😐. I think it could have been the stress I was causing them but will never know
So this is week 7 and week 5 is actually week 6. Didn’t take any pics week 5. Don’t know why I just didn’t. Maybe I was upset with all the male parts showing up….. probably just forgot. Well this is day before they go into flower. Honesty dissapointed with growth but still proud of myself and glad to have learned from all the mistakes so far. Have gotten a humidifier by this point so got humidity back up to 45 before going into flower which I think saved it from being a total dud of a grow. It got worse because it got colder in the basement from winter weather
Used coated wire to do some training this week. Plants responded really well. One of the black mambas that was taller than the rest really responded well as you’ll see in the next weeks photos. Figured that with the humidity back on track and this being week 1 of flower the growth was still slow so I phd water and realized I never adjusted the whole time cause I thought water was good. So now got water down to 7 and thankfully didn’t ruin roots on plants that were still left at this point
So the plants have just been showing their balls right and left and we’re down to the lemon Barry OG and Black Mamba at the end of week 9. The black Mamba surprised me because it is the tiny one in all the other photos. It was an accidental FIM and now it’s one of the only survivors of my speedbag run lol
Got the scrog net up and started weaving them through. Feel kinda silly even using it with how small the are but it has helped. No more male parts so far so I think they’re full females and I just need to not stress them out anymore.
Not a very noticeable preflower stretch with these two but budsites are popping up all over. I count 24 altogether. Will take more photos when the buds start filling in more. Right now they’re pretty unimpressive and I’m extremely busy with work
We’ll the flowering stretch is over with and the tent is underwhelming. Would be quite full if there were still 9 other plants in there with the 2 left. But we keep on keeping on. Budsites are getting bigger. Not looking to get much off of them but will hopefully be some good quality stuff. Already purchased genetics for round 2 but we’ll have to wait till i decide on a veg light. Not sure if I should use 2 T5 2’x4’ fluorescent lights or go with another led. I’ve seen good things done with T5’s and they’re good for cloning which I’ll eventually start doing when I’ve found good breeding stock
Week 13. Buds are definitely fattening up all over. Starting to get frost on the sugar leaves as well so that’s a good sign to me. Probably be ready by the middle to end of next month. Can’t wait to start on the next run with actual good genetics and see what we get
Budsites are still fattening up. Found a set of balls on the lemon Larry but it hadn’t popped yet so just plucked it and will take care of anymore that I can but it is what it is. Next time won’t have such unpredictable genetics by not using bagseed anymore
They’re hanging in the tent now. Will take pics when they’re done drying. This grow has been a humbling experience to say the least. Thought I was gonna be a natural and that everything would run smoothly and that just wasn’t the case. Harvested this one just a tad early because the black mamba in the same tent’s trichromes we’re completely cloudy and this one’s we’re mostly with just some still clear. No amber at all. Not much for yield and can’t say about quality yet but the bud looks and smells good. Just not very much of it. Next run is germinating and have diary started if you want to check it out. Will post final pics of this one when the buds are dried and trimmed. Won’t take long at all lol
So this one was actually one of 3 black mambas but the only female and it was the runt of the 3. The growth on it was really weird and made scrogging it super fun. Almost threw it out because it wasn’t growing with the others but then it started growing and shooting out a bunch of new growth so we kept it. Excited to smoke this one because it came from some pretty shitty weed and I kept the seed cause the strain isn’t easy to find. I know it is at least better quality than the bag it came from
