And we are back! After the last crop was burnt to a crisp (housesitter forgot to water) we got 2 new beans in the dirt. Went with 2 different strains to test my SCROG skills but both share roughly the same flower period and growth patterns. Really, with my limited space I figured this is the best way to get 2 different strains in short order and hoping it works out!
Both beans popped in 24 hours placed in Rapid Rooters, inside a rotisserie chicken container (cleaned and sterile!), small amount of water, and a heating pad underneath. After about 36 hours, both had breached the surface of the RR. Need to balance light distance/intensity to make sure these don't get too lanky cuz they are moving quick!
So far so good! This update is a bit earlier than 1 week (pics taken 2 days ago) but with Xmas around the corner I wanted to make sure I could keep it up to date-ish
She seems to be doing well. Got kinda lanky at the start and found a balance for the light distance and intensity. Gave her a light watering yesterday and just taking it easy.
Have a happy holidaze everyone! 🎄⛄
Edit: ffs all my pics are blurry as fuck lol lll work to make them better next week
Both ladies seem happy! Nothing too crazy this past week and just moving along. Peyote WiFi CBD seems to be moving a bit quicker than her roommate but still pretty close.
I crushed whole malted barley and sprinkled and mixed into the top 1" and watered this week. Aside from that, no nutes, just pH'd water
She is starting out like a champ. Seems to enjoy the light and late at night when the light is a couple hours from going off she starts to get sleepy and leaves fold down. By morning, she's perky and happy
I fed a super light nutrient feeding and some compost tea a few days ago and she seems to be enjoying it. This is a new-to-me soil so I suppose learning how long they can live off just pH'd water and nutrients in the soil is part of the learning curve.
She seems to still be doing well. I think I went too light on nutes and been struggling with liquid nutes so switched to Down to Earth dry amendments. I scratched in 1 Tbs of their All Purpose (4-6-2) about 6 days after I fed with the liquid nutes to give them time to break down.
She is kind of towering over her roommate and looking good. Will be topping at some point this week!
Another late dairy entry but pics taken 8 days after my last update, sorry!
She got topped about 6 days ago and had no noticeable stunting. She began to branch out the next day and has really bushed out. I installed the screen and getting final placement of the two pots down. They are right at the screen and will be starting their actual SCROG soon. She seems to be healthy and enjoying the dry amendments. Yesterday I scratched in another 1.5 tablespoons of DtE All Purpose and watered with pH adjusted filtered tap (40ppm). I’m hoping to transition fully to dry organic amendments and only do plain water, I’ve had too many issues with liquid nutes and need to adjust
An update that’s finally on time, one in a row!
This lady seems to be going great. She’s adjusted to dry amendment really nicely and has some robust growth. She was defoliated (second half of pictures) to encourage additional growth and seems to have responded well. The scrog is just beginning to take place and finding the best route to tuck these two will be challenging in such a small space (2x4)
