Dec 17 - 2 in paper towels.
waiting...
Dec 18 - germinated 2 for 2! one day, impressive.
Dec 19 - transplanted into Golfgreen Starter "Soil"
and put under a Mars Hydro TSW2000 until they're bigger. then I'll move them into another tent and under my new Mars Hydro FC E4800. excited!
Dec 21 - surfacing today!
Dec 22 - both looking good. amazing after just one day.
Dec 25 - Merry Christmas
good first week. up to 2" already after a couple days. first leaves coming in.
humidity raised to about 55% and temp is at 23C.
I'll do drops of ph'd water @ 6.5
Jan 1 Happy New Year
big growth overnight and 1st true leaves forming.
still under Mars Hydro TSW2000
200k lux/50% on dimmer
23C 55% humidity
Jan 5 - new leaves forming at 1st and 2nd node. currently at node 3
added slight nutes, floragrow and cal/mag
Jan 8 - looking pretty good. up to 4 nodes with small leaves forming on 1 and 2.
transplant probably later this week into final 5 gallon pots, maybe 7 gallons before topping.
Jan 9 - transfered under Mars Hydro FC-E4800 @ 250k lux
both were very droopy today, fed nute water
Jan 10 - transplanted to 5 and 7 gallon pots. tons of roots and maybe was getting root bound (causing droop?). very warm to the touch as well.
Jan 12 - not recovering, very droopy and lowers started yellowing. added fresh water but ??
Jan 13 - discovered the timer was set at 24 hours light. explains the sudden droop and shriveled leaves. occured from Sunday thru Wednesday (4 days). =/
Jan 15 - bouncing back after messing up the timer. 2 days now at 16 hours light. bottoms leaves yellowed which ill clip soon.
136k lux, 50% on dimmer.
looking same height and at 5th node, figured I lost a week but recovering none the less.
Jan 17 - recovered and looking better. leaves reaching
Jan 20 - topped "green" stake to 2nd node where the biggest side shoots were.
dipped top in Remo rooting gel and placed into Rockwell.
left "yellow" stake, node leaves are almost non existent still.
Jan 22 - "yellow" stake a lot taller but no leaf growth at nodes. upper leaves blocking light. looking healthier and reaching for light, nice recovery.
"green" stake leaves forming slowly (only day 2 after topping). raised pot to be 21" from led.
Jan 24 - topped "yellow" even tho she has barely any node leaves. I figure they wouldn't fill in any time soon as the top growth was blocking all light.
fingers crossed.
Jan 29 "yellow" : leaves showing brown patches and yellowing on young leaves. light burn? 160k lux at 28"
"green" : 2nd top (4 mains). very small now, worth the mains/time?
Feb 5 - lost power yesterday for 4 hours and forgot to reset timer. cycle is out by 7 - 8 hours today and yesterday.
week 7 but you'd never know because of the 2 toppings. very small. stunted because of light mistakes? did topping add 5 weeks to schedule?
last top anyways so from here it's just growth
Feb 12 - coming along. starting fill out but already at week 8 and very tiny.
"yellow" has yellowish blemishes but ignoring that.
"green" looks better.
will start to raise nutes and led
Feb 19 - starting to fill in although still small for how many weeks. been cutting off all lower nodes every other day.
watering a bit more although the pots seem quite heavy.
still mottled yellow leaves on the one plant. added Rocket Fuel that contains potassium so maybe that will help correct but idk if that's the problem.
monitors are Temp One/Humidity One
Feb 26 - "yellow" is filling out and a lot taller although mottled yellowing leaves are still present.
"green" also filling out with hardly any of the symptoms"yellow" is facing.
miicrobial mass added every 2 weeks only.
increased watering throughout the week.
- clone tops transplanted to 5 gallons. the larger top had tons of roots, the smaller had lesser new roots. maybe they will grow in the new pots. looks sad but so did my last grows clones and they turned out very well. fingers crossed
Mar 5 - day #84. lower and upper blocking leaves removed.
becoming too compact growing vertically so I tied back stems for lower light although not much because the stems are very woody/stiff now.
"yellow" appears less mottled but maybe because I removed those leaves and issue is not corrected?
both plants are forming pistils along their branches.
2 weeks to day 100, looks way behind.
Mar 12 - already 84 days. quite small although side branches forming and getting taller.
tent is heating up, 28C at times.
another couple weeks to flip regardless of size is the plan.
till then focus on growth.
many pistils forming so maybe sooner than later.
*remember to add chitosal prior to flip*
mar 19 - old phone, colors all over the place with auto correct.
i asked the breeder about the yellow mottling. he said Dubb genetics are variegated and will show throughout.
my local hydro store told me it was mosaic virus but ill take the word of the breeder and leave it at that.
today i went heavy defoliation (more?) and will start flip in a week.
both are almost 100 days in, although youd never know.
lets see how they fill in for this week...
mar 22 - separated plants into 2 4x4 tents
yellow stake - mars hydro fc 4800
green stake - mars hydro tsw 2400
mar 26 - cant even tell i defoliated last week. should have stripped more.
many pistils, they want to flower but i started scrog way late. maybe i should just let them.
clone tops are finally starting to show life. led at 28" and 260k. better late than never
April 2 - looking good, filling out but no use for scrog currently unless they stretch a lot during flip next week.
chitosal introduced wed 30th
lux @ 550k
apr 9 - flipping after long and slow growth for 17 weeks (day 118).
possible causes for delay :
- main line postponement
- led timer not set properly (on 24 hours/week)
- waiting for scrog fill (unsuccessful)
led:
"yellow" - mars hydro fc 4800
"green" mars hydro tsw 2400
lux @ 500k (down slightly) @ 18" (raised)
lets see if flower stretch fills in
timer 10am -10pm
adding Purpinator and astro flower.
all nutrients aren't necessarily added the same day.
April 16 - 1 week defoliation. wanted more but scared.
"yellow" taller but "green" looks like shes more buds/pistils.
day temps rising (27C) along with increased led %. Night avg 14C
stopping FloraGrow and switching to FloraBloom along with Remo Astoflower and Nature's Candy. Purpinator as well on different days.
lets see how they bounce back.
apr 23 - starting 3rd flower week, no more defoliation except maybe a few blocking fan leaves as they progress.
"yellow" - led 13" from tops but the canopy is another foot down from there. i should have kept better training during the start of veg.
600k lux at the tops, 350k at canopy.
"green" - led 15" from tops
785k lux at tops, 500k at canopy
"green" has started producing trics on some sugar leaves (last week), "yellow" is still making her pistol tops.
clones coming along for a small batch.
Apr 30 - "yellow" started to frost.
been removing a few blocking leaves here and there.
"green" coming along, filling in scrog a bit better but stretch is finished.
removed a few thin lower branches and scruff.
we'll see how they stack this next week
nutrient measurements above are out, ive just been keeping ppm around 800ish regardless of what i toss in that day. usually 2 or 3 nutes a day, switching back and forth whatever i grab.
may 7 - week 5 flower. heavy rain past couple days has risen humidity indoors to 58%.
"green" gets a new led, Photontek 465w pro.
- 9" from tops. 515k tops to 350k lower canopy
added Hyshield a few days ago along with Hygrowzyme to waterings.
"yellow" started showing yellow tips as well. the others do not.
- 600k tops/350k canopy
may 14 - week 6 flower
lowers yellowing and falling off in both tents.
pistils started changing to brown
3 weeks?
buds stacking nicely but fattening?
adding Rock Hard for K for the last weeks here in.
day temp still high 28C by evening and humidity sometimes over 55% with rain outside
may 21 - week 7/day 49 flower
overall looks good.
bottom leaves yellowing and falling off, pisils browing ("yellow" not as much but coming along).
ill try to fatten them as much as i can for the last few weeks. added daily Rock Hard for K and Hysheild for the big temp and humidity swings lately due to rain.
clones look very close to harvest
May 24 - started clense
May 26 - heat is becoming a problem, reaching 30C.
pretty sure thats whats been affecting the leaves for awhile now
no ac
may 28 - week 8/day 56 flower
dropping nutes, adding Clense only with 6ph water
heat issues, reaching 30C
leaves looking dull in appearance, easily torn, dehydrated although lots of water.
light burn? lux 65k top 40k canopy
probably a mix heat and light
buds looking like early foxtails? i dont believe they will fill any more.
trics clear and cloudy, no amber.
not gonna sweat it, i think thats all she wrote, ill give them a week cleansing.
June 4 - week 9/day 63 flower
not much happening as far as any more bud growth. leaves are dying and theyre not very pretty to look at.
been super hot (30c) these past couple weeks and humidity reaching 60% a few days. thankfully no mold that i can see.
trics seem to be getting there although lower buds are still quite clear. tested a lower bud with pretty racey results.
removed many yellowing dead leaves after these photos were taken.
probably chop Wednesday or Thursday with last watering Monday.
48 darkenss? maybe just to keep temp lower.
100% successful germination in a day. variegated leaves. grew to 30" in 4x4. quick bounce back after defoliation. had problems with yellowing and dry leaves reasons unknown.
June 8 - veg : days 112 (16 weeks)
flower : days 76 (8 weeks)
total - days 188 (24 weeks)
RAMBLING:
cut all 4 down today after 48 hours dark and no water for 2 days.
even after viewing many clear trics i believe they aren't maturing anymore and made the decision to harvest.
the plants themselves looked "old", dry leaves, much yellowing and basically near the end.
after cutting and washing, i noticed that the plants weren't as bad as i had thought. the small hidden bud sites were very green still, unlike the upper sites.
too early?
regardless im pleasantly surprised at the flowers produced. the mains were bigger than i had imagined and one clone was a brilliant purple throughout.
not overly scented but definitely a lemon scent.
washed with baking soda and lemon juice and placed on a "stack it" drying rack.
problems the last few weeks: high temps at 30C and humidity swings to 60% due to rain and an open window. this was the main reason i harvested today. fear of possible bud rot. perhaps i didn't need to worry but better safe than sorry.
im hoping without the leds on, the temperature will hover around 24 and 55% humidity.
other problems through this grow - malfunctioning timers (24 hour light for 6 days) and 2 power outages.
overwatered for the last 1/3 of the grow but the pots wouldn't stay moist and by morning bone dry. ended up watering in the morning and before lights out. 64oz each time.
all in all a successful grow with problems to be corrected next time. over watering, over feeding, light and heat burn.
dry (slowly) babies...
