Howdy fellow mendo-farmers, friends, and any individual who ends up here.
Here I have the cheapest, and laziest method to grow ganja known to mankind: hempy pots with pure perlite.
I'll do my best, later on, to talk about the pros and cons of this method. Until then, sit back, fire up a joint, take a hit from your trusty bong and enjoy the show.
About the strains: Barney's LSD, the name says it all. Indica dominant hybrid with sweet sweet psychedelic effects.
Amnesia Haze is a cult classic, needless to get into details. +Speed auto is a super easy strain, low maintenance, and highly recommended for beginner growers.
Aaaaand we have a mystery for you Scooby fans out there because I don't have a damn clue about this one. Maybe it's not even an autoflowering seed, your guess is good as mine.
Let me know your guess, the winner will receive a virtual high five.
Now, the seeds have been germinated already, with a 100% success rate. After leaving them in some water for like a day, I have used the paper towel trick. After that, they have been placed into some 'Eazy Plugs' starters. And today our ladies have finally emerged from depths of the underground. Right now I just use a cheap LED light, because at this stage of the game it would be pointless to bring out the big guns. So far everybody looks and feels happy and healthy, I'll make sure that the humidity stays up and they receive nothing but pure water (PH is around 5.8).
Please, have a fantastic day.
Nothing much to say, really. Most of the girls popped out, got rid of their shells, and they are ready to take over the world. This is the worst period of growing. I just keep everything moist, cover them with a dome and wait for the seventh day, when I'll be finally able to feed them for the very first time. On the other hand, I have time to prepare the pots.
So, let's talk about those while we wait. I really want to prove my point here, that growing weed doesn't need to be super expensive. So, I am gonna use some empty buckets, some plastic bottles etc. Like the title says, this is a perlite run and I mean only perlite. No vermiculite whatsoever. There is nothing wrong with that, but not necessary.
But why perlite? 1, Natural b, Cheap and 4th, You can re-use.
The hempy pots gonna look the same. A small hole approx an inch above their bottom, and that's it. Then I just fill it up with perlite /after a pre-wash/. Plain and simple. Make sure, that the excess water is able to leave, but the perlite stays inside.
However. Consider a few things before trying this method out. After your plants achieve a significant height /and weight/, you might run into some troubles. Yes, your pots might fall over.
So, to avoid this issue, you can use a pair of bricks, bamboo-sticks, some 2x4 plywood, pretty much anything to support your pots. I don't know about your setup, but be creative, use whatever you got on hand. Too late, because you already made them weak? Just pour some gravel on top.
My idea was to put smaller rocks with gravel into the bottom of my pots, because a plastic bottle really cannot carry a whole lot of weight I made sure that they are clean.
My buckets should be fine, tested them before. I'll do my best to share some pictures later just to show how simple it can be and have great results still. Yes, you can spend thousands on your setup, but having the best kit will not guarantee anything.
Anyway, I'll just update photos whenever I feel to, but see you next week when this season will finally kick in.
If you have any questions or funny insults, feel free to comment.
Best to all ya. Peace, love, and don't be a c*nt.
Update: They stretch like hell, so I lowered my lamp. Sorry about the pictures, my camera really doesn't like the blue light from the LED, it has a hard time focusing correctly. Once they are in the tent I'll be able to make better-looking pics, hopefully. This is the 6th day, I gave them a minimal dose of fertilizer (2 ml cal-mag, 1 ml of coco A+B per liter). It's like half of the recommended dose. I am gonna place them into pots tomorrow. Most of them at least.
G'day mates. Week number 2, all the ladies have been moved to their pots. They are all healthy, loving life, and the new feed schedule. Noticed some nitrogen toxicity on a few plants, so I have cut back their nutrients a bit. So far, so good. I raised the light higher, hopefully, they are gonna stretch a bit, which would make LST easier.
CalMag: 2 ml/L
Coco A+B. 1.5 ml/L
PH: around 5.8
Heya lads. Started LST on a few, I also ended up topping one gal, and fimming another. Roots are looking great, they already found their way to the bottom of the pots.
Stems are getting stronger, it's a good thing that I'm done with LST (for now). I refill the pots every 2-3 days from now on.
CalMag: 2ml/L
Coco A+B: 2.5 ml/L
