The first of several in my Veg to Offend lineup. We have Expert seeds and Garden of Green's Phantom Cookies Domina. A cross of a classic OG Kush and A favorite Granddaddy Purps, we have ourselves a beast in form of genetics let's hope we can draw those genetics out.
I placed the seeds directly in and covered lightly with the excess peat on the sides.
I picked this strain for its medical properties and the overall yeild potential. I'm not going for max yeild but highest quality in a SOG.
So shout out to @Expertseeds, @GardenofGreen and @Marshydroeleen for your sponsorships and helping make this lineup possible!
Let's talk setup;
The pods were placed in a jiffy pod hut and placed in 78-84 degree and 65%+ rh environment. As soon as the sprouts are out they will be relocated into the tent with the other phenotypes in the lineup.
The tent will be lighted with the MarsHydro TS1000. This is a great light to test for this size of grow and operation being done.
The medium is a mycorrhizae enriched sphagnum peat with RESiLIENCE technology added. This medium is specifically tailored for cannabis plants and is meant to help with infrequent watering and to improve overall nutrient uptake for the plant during growth stages.
I water and will water with dechlorinated tap water at 152-163tds until the last half of flower when I will start watering with 0tds water to aid in flushing.
My ipower 4" inline fan controls my humidity and temperature levels with ease from my TITAN Controls Spartan 6. Normal conditions are near ideal before any controls need to step in.
Until the beans pop! Tragic out!
So here we are week one. The beginning.
And to start it all off we had 3 degree weather... oh and that's American 3. So 3f outside and a good amount of wind led to the tent hitting 50degrees...
Needless to say that caused some forced issues. I now have a temperature problem. I decided to switch the light to 24hrs on and move the seedlings further away for the first week.
Next week I will be moving them into 3gal fabric pots where they will finish out the grow. The cold and the light changes have started to pull a bit of purple into stems of other plants in the tent so I know the cold stress has effected them, I just hope it doesn't affect them too much later down the road.
These ladies sprouted fans and were the first couple to sprout, and 2nd and 3rd overall to start. The VegtoOffend is off to a great start.
Next week the gals will get a New home in a 3gal fabric pot and one of these lucky gals will be bottle fed nutrients. More to come on that next week as well.
This grow was made possible in part to;
@marshydroeleen and the MarsHydro team - TS 1000 150w
@expertseeds and GardenofGreen - Genetics in this grow
Phantom Cookies Domina for the 4th strain of the VegtoOffend is now in 3 gallon fabric pots.
I was pleasantly surprised to find they had some holes already made and were reinforced with some brass fittings. These will hopefully prevent any potential future root issues.
I also recently acquired a VivoSun PH TDS/EC Tester and was also pleased to find my water once it had been dechlorinated is actually perfect for growing.
I raised the light to near the top of the tent and set the light to around 75-80% pulling roughly 125watts from the wall.
I set up the light to achieve a roughly 350 PAR value over the current grow canopy. I decided to focus more on the PAR values and less on the wattage output.
Hopefully this will promote more easily trained plant growth for a couple weeks down the road.
Until next week HG&HT!

Expert Seeds- the Genetics in the tent
This week we top dressed nutrients and added a few amendments to the top of the medium too that we blended in.
The ProMix #4 holds enough nutrients for 22 irrigation and then the usable npk is gone. So for veg I added a 4-2-4 blend with additional phosphates added to achieve a 6-5-5 total.
The light was dropped 6 inches and turned to 80% power as these ladies should be able to run a 18hr of increased intensity with minimal issues.
The base height has been established and I should now be able to work these 2 ladies relatively easy to include watering during flower.
Waterings have been decreased to about 1 time every other day and the water has been ph'd to a value between 5.8 and 6.5.
I dechlorinated my water using reverse osmosis and letting stand for about 24 hours.
The phenotypes are vigorous and are looking so healthy. We will see what happens with the tent as the grow continues. Next week will be the first week of training.
Outside of the normal veg procedures I have left these ladies alone, I plan to do some "FIM" but a modified version removing no growth but instead crushing the ends I have heard has better results.
In 2 weeks I will likely change the light schedule to a 12 12 just because of the plants I have and how big they will get I will need a 4-5 week veg period before transition to flower.
In theory this should be adequate veg to fill the tent wall to wall with buds.
Until next week HG&HT!
This last week topped the two phenotypes and rearranged the tent. That's a summation to the rest of the comment.
Week 4 starts with great new growth on these ladies. The new tops are finally starting to really grow upwards. I will be training the plants a bit in the future for now I am working on basic structuring.
I removed the very lowest internodal growth as the lowest branch will never reach the top and only sucks energy from the rest of the growth. I leave all the fan leaves but the actual branch gets removed all together.
I have been watering in dechloronated tap water ph balanced to 5.8-6.3. The plants look great the growth is great and the environment continues to remain ideal.
The genetics are very solid and consistent between the two pheno types with very minor differences. The research I did suggests the same genetics have been displayed on every grow I've seen so far. Let's see if maybe an environmental trigger could pull some desirable dormant genetics out.
Rh is set and controlled at 53% at the moment and the light 20" above the canopy at 85% power. Temps are set and controlled at 73f avg 69-77f min and max. My fan is providing canopy circulation from a new above mounted position.
The medium is watered when it feels dry to the touch or the plants look thirsty. Otherwise I have left them alone to grow as they normally would grow.
This grow has been super easy and the plants respond to everything I do with ease. This is by far the happiest and easiest plants I've had.
Until next week, HG&HT!
These ladies are getting thirsty as the weeks tick by. They are growing very very well and are starting to show signs of early deficiencies.
We fed an organic dry amendment into the medium for a water when dry and leave alone. These ladies are almost exact matches in growth as well, extremely stable genetics it seems.
The light was raised to the top of the tent to help these sativas stretch out a bit.
All lower growth on the plants ended up removed I it would fail to reach the top 3rd of the plant. The ladies are looking great and have really benefitted from the removal of the sucker leaves and branches.
Watering in the Phantom Cookies Domina at a ph of 6.0-6.2 and at a rate of .5gal every 24 hrs spread out over 12 hours. Attempting several different watering methods. All the same amount and PH but different intervals. So far the difference is negligible or absent.
The light is now at a 12/12 and the ladies have began to stretch. These look to be the bigger of all the plants at the moment.
This week the Phantom Cookies got thinned out and cleaned up. Then they watered and left alone. They started showing pistils day 6 of the last week and they are now starting to fly like crazy.
I water at a ph range of 5.9-6.2 and have been slow feeding the ladies over the course of the morning.
Until next week, HG&HT!
Super easy week this week, just as the other plants in the tent this lady is a water and monitor girl. No more work should be needed until mid flower.
The light is maxed out, the PH is set at a range between 6.2 and 6.4 and the environment is kept in ideal ranges.
The next update will show more bud close up and we'll hopefully start getting some smells.
Until the next update! HG&HT!
Healthy happy structured great can hardly wait to harvest in 6 weeks or so. The smell is great and the ladies are really loving life.
The light was adjusted up to let the ladies breathe a little.
There's really no other updates.
The best plants in the grow health wise, Excited for the harvest when it comes around. The smell from the tent is amazing. I can't wait to see what the final buds smell like.
Ph 5.8-6.3
Light 15" @ 100% 150w±5
Best growing healthy strain in the tent and the buds are dense.
I'm happy with these genetics most and can't wait to run the other 6 beans!
Ph 5.8-6.0
Light 16" @100%
Flushing starts this week and this lady is about read for harvest.
The ph range is 5.8-6.0 watered in
The ph of the medium is around 5.9
The light is 100% at 17" for these gals
The smell and the structure of these buds is great! I can hardly wait to harvest.
A full organic grow, started with hermie issues and a location change and many other factors I'm impressed with the outcome. I will say the genetics seem to be prone to easy foxtailing but the overall bud density is arguably my most preferred. About the density of a big marshmellow? I don't know how else to explain it.
Either way when it's all dry I will likely end with 3-4oz dry and trimmed. No larf really everything is a size that I would deem useable.
Smoke report next!
