12-27 ~3:00 pm placed 2 seeds in to glass of water and sat on router in dark closet. will wait 12-18 hours for the seeds to sink and break open. then will place in paper towel for initial root 12-28 ~9:00 am for each seed sets , pulled out and put in between sheets of damp/wet paper towels in between two saucers to keep in humidity and placed back on router in dark closet. 1 ww seed had not dropped to bottom. seeds did not look "cracked" 12-29 ~8:00 am ww seeds now have very small tap roots. paper towels still pretty moist. will check a couple of times today looking to see if enough tap is out to plant directly in to target 3 gallon fabric pots with ocean forest soil. 12-29 ~12:30 am ww seeds look close to ready to go to dirt at .25 to .5 inch long. jh seeds = no noticeable change 12-29 ~3:00 pm the 2 ww seeds had tap roots long enough that they were starting to go in to the paper towel. planted in same pot of already wetted soil - a 3 gallon fabirc pot with fox farms ocean forest. light set at 100% at 36inches above pot. 81 f and 52% humidity 12-30 seeds in the dirt. vpd running at about 1.4 , gonna be tough to keep it near where it should be. 12-31 3:00 pm both ww seedlings have popped out. Reading 79 66 1.13 and day avg 74 63 1.07 . Added tiny bit of water around all . Terracota bottles keeping pots damp. 01-01 12:30 pm. Staying alive 84 72 1.11 gonna try dropping temp by around 5f 01-02 05:00 pm still growing and stretching 01-02 no change 75 71 0.87 - light water around seed location 01-03 no change 64 60 0.81 - light water around seed location 01-04 no change 57 54 0.71 - seedlings look fine, and growing slow. light water around seed location - dropped light to 16 inches from 30. is at 50% - outside door was cracked, and it was snowing day before, think lost some heat. fixed target for the seeds: 2 3 gallon fabric pots with 1 or two same type seeds depending on if they sprout Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil single Spider Farmer SF1000 ~100w led - 36" height at 100% Vivosun 36x20x63 tent Grow space currently running at around 80 f and 45% ~= 1.7 vpd , will try to get to .6-.8 vpd, but the space is going to be hard to manage that well

What’s best way to remove the runt of these two to a different container? She’s a little rough but still has a chance I think. Feels like shouldn’t leave her in there to compete with sister.

There are a few ways to do this. all of them carry risk. 1) just pull it out and if the medium is light enough the roots will only get moderate damage. but its a high risk of failure and the plant your removing will be stunted for a bit or not make it. 2) using a bade or knife, cut right down between the two of them. and then transplant it out by digging down and scoping it up with your hands, filling in the void with more potting soil. The risk with this option is you don't know where the root system has explored yet and it might also chop some of the other roots from the bigger plant. but typicality the main tap root tends to grow straight down first before exploring out sideways, the earlier the better before roots get to big. 3) dump the pot out and pick out each of them and re pot them. lot of stress with this option. I do this when I'm working with my garden outside and loss of some plants is accessible. I'd go with option 2, if you really want to keep it. or just pluck the other one if your not sure if you want it. different phenotypes are fun to grow out. the 1st option is least stress for the dominate plant, high stress for dwarf. the 2nd is potentially equally stressing for both plats depending where the roots are. and the 3rd option is guaranteed equal stress for both. Best of luck

That overall light green looks like she’s just slightly hungry for an overall feed. Maybe it’s a heavy feeder. Most autos would be fine the first month in fox farms ocean forest without nutes, but I’d start supplementing. Before that, be sure you have been at an appropriate pH and other parameters are in the right spot. FIM looks good tho man don’t worry about it!

@homerjgangia, Thanks! This is my second grow. first grow was with the same seeds and many things went wrong. even with problem after problem, ended up with about 2 oz per plant. 1 seed never popped out of soil, 1 seed was stunted/dwarfed and was killed by my mis-management of heat. 1 ww left, and it had problems near the end, and then the jh grew a little slower but finished in fair shape. I do not have high hopes for these seeds, but lets see what happens. hoping 1 of each sprout, and then hoping to start a double grape and a forum stomper with a week or two.

thanks everybody for wonderful feedback and suggestions. I'm trying to absorb them and work with the suggestios. She is lookin better today. i had added the calmag yesterday, and bumped up the temp from around 57 to around 69. I tested my acclimated tap water ph and got around a 5.9 ... so i think i need to figure out how to bump that a bit too.. use vinegar ? how much would you add to around 4 gallons of water ( the current buckets content )
